Nolan had sensed something was off about Wanda's past.

But now, it made sense.

If Wanda's Chaos Magic had surged during childhood untrained and uncontrolled, it could have instinctively rewritten the memories of those around her. Maybe not just memories. Maybe records. Databases. Reality itself.

When your magic is tethered to emotion... anything is possible.

Especially when you're Wanda Maximoff.

In certain timelines, a single whispered sentence from her had unraveled an entire race.

No more mutants.

That kind of power wasn't limited to altering memories. It rewrote existence.

So, if she subconsciously erased her own childhood before age seven?

Yeah. That checked out.

Wanda had bounded in earlier, teasing Nolan about dinner, eager to pull him out of the lab and annoy him just a little. But then—

He dropped it.

The bombshell.

The truth about her parentage.

That Magneto—Erik Lehnsherr—was her biological father.

She froze. The smile vanished. Confusion twisted into denial.

"I don't believe it... I don't believe it..."

Wanda shook her head, but her mind was reeling. The cracks had already formed.

Seven years. She had no memories before that age. None.

Just a vague recollection of escaping some underground facility with Pietro, and then... home.

Her body began trembling. Her crimson irises darkened, flaring red. Reality shimmered like heat waves around her.

A wave of scarlet energy ignited in the air.

Everyone froze.

The room around her bent, like light warping through broken glass.

"Wanda—" Charles stepped forward, voice gentle. "You have to calm down. Breathe, child."

"I can't! My head—it hurts! I can't control it!"

She clutched her skull, writhing in agony. Chaos Magic flared outward in a violent spiral.

"I can't get into her mind," Charles murmured to Hank. "It's... it's like trying to breach Jean's mind when the Phoenix was active. Something's blocking me."

Erik turned on Nolan. "You did this. You brought this up you fix it."

Nolan didn't flinch.

"Relax. She's stronger than this."

He stepped forward, voice sharp but focused.

"Wanda. Use what I taught you. Control it. You're not its prisoner. You command it. This is your chance—to master it. And to resurrect Pietro."

Her eyes widened.

"Pietro..."

In that moment of hesitation, Nolan snapped his fingers.

She vanished.

Boom.

A scarlet explosion ripped through the room, but Nolan was already channeling streams of golden-orange energy through his palms, rebuilding the shattered Mirror Dimension faster than her Chaos Magic could tear it down.

"Wanda! Focus! You must connect to it—not suppress it. Speak to it."

Inside the Mirror Dimension, fractured layers of warped space tried to hold together.

But Wanda's power was like a storm.

Red tendrils coiled through the void, threatening to shatter everything until golden barriers flared and caged them in harmony.

Outside, Charles, Hank, and Erik watched in stunned silence.

"He's controlling her power?" Hank whispered.

"No," Charles muttered. "He's guiding it. Channeling it. And it's working..."

Better than it ever did with Jean.

"Got it," Nolan said hoarsely. His complexion was pale those mirror breaks had drained him more than expected.

Wanda's Chaos Magic didn't obey the rules.

It warped them.

Fortunately, as a recognized candidate of Kamar-Taj, an 'executive-in-training' as Wong would put it, Nolan had access to magic reserves far beyond mortal norms.

But Wanda...

Wanda was different.

She wasn't just on his path.

She was at Chthon's.

In that hierarchy? Nolan was an intern. Wanda was the heir.

The magic that burst from her wasn't restricted. It was infinite.

Her self-defense mechanism the reason she hadn't torn open the multiverse yet—was the same thing that made humans faint during grief or panic.

Too much emotional pressure?

Shut down.

Reset.

And as the last shard of chaos collapsed into stillness, Wanda dropped out of the Mirror Dimension gently falling into Nolan's arms.

She hit the floor and slumped, gasping for air.

A soft smile flickered on her lips.

"I... I controlled it. I did it."

Nolan nodded. "Good. Now you're ready to test reality itself. Try reviving a small animal—something simple."

He could already sense it.

That moment of control had pushed her power to levels that surpassed the seasoned sorcerers of Kamar-Taj. Not through study—but through destiny.

And that was the Marvel Universe's truth:

Talent mattered.

But luck? Luck and backing mattered more.

Wanda had both.

Her magic came directly from Chthon. A multiversal entity on par with the Vishanti.

That kind of patronage wasn't earned. It was bestowed.

And Wanda?

She wielded it freely.

Wanda looked at the glowing red energy dancing on her fingertips. "I can bring someone back?"

"For now, maybe just small animals. Recently deceased humans, possibly. But full resurrection?" Nolan warned, "That takes mastery soul magic, rebirth incantations, control over the afterlife itself."

"...Or time magic," he added under his breath.

"Time magic?" Wanda echoed.

"It's not for now. That's high-level sorcery. You'll get there. Just pace yourself."

Nolan turned toward Charles and the others.

"You mentioned magic," he said. "You mean like what the Black Queen uses?"

Charles looked uneasy. "Yes... witchcraft. That kind of magic."

Nolan smiled faintly. "That's one kind of magic. But Wanda's? It's something far more... fundamental."
