Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 305: if you do!
Chapter 305: if you do!
Uva had just left the room when Cain instantly went ahead to shut the door behind her with zero hesitation before turning to look at Violet who still had a worried expression stamped boldly across her face.
"Stop worrying!" he told her with a serious expression on his face as he moved closer to where she stood looking at him with her hands crossed over her chest.
"I’m surprised by how calm you are considering you’re the one with two different types of blood," Violet pointed out with a serious expression.
"Worse, it’ll be bad if any one else finds out!" Violet continued to which Cain merely shook his head with a wry smile on it as he spoke.
"I’m sure whosoever is behind it already knows," he said with a darkness in his eyes that showed that he would like nothing else that to find whosoever it was and show them the most amount of pain possible.
Violet simply nodded her head even as she moved closer, moving right into his arms as she wrapped her hands tightly around his waist before she began to speak.
"Uva is teaching me or at least she’s going to try!" Violet opened her mouth to speak almost with a bit of hesitation in her tone.
Not at all surprised to hear a slight edge in Cain’s tone when he began to speak after she had mentioned Uva.
"You mean she’s completely useless?" Cain asked her in an icy tone that sounded like if she was then she might as well be dead.
"No!" Violet responded rubbing her face into his chest as she spoke, her voice a bit low but she wasn’t the slightest bit worried that Cain would have trouble hearing her.
"...she’s not allowed to completely show me how to use magic. She mentioned that only a high Coven member can!" she explained raising her eyes to meet his with an almost pleading expression in the depth of her gaze.
But she hadn’t even finished or boldly asked the question she wanted to when Cain’s gaze became quite stormy as he moved to back away from her only for Violet to tighten her hold around his waist with a frown on her face.
"I’m serious! Me learning how to use magic would help you. We wouldn’t need to keep asking others to help you!" She said trying to make him understand her point.
But the anger she could see in the depth of his eyes worried her even as she wondered what was going through his head as she spoke and he continued to keep quiet.
"This-this is a good thing, and—" only to hear him interrupt her before she could finishe with s huge frown on her face.
"You interacting with a high coven member? NO!" He barked out in such a loud tone that Violet couldn’t my help but be completely taken aback.
She had an inkling he would be against it but it hadn’t crossed her mind that he would be so stubborn about it even when his health was on the line.
"If you need any of them to be able to use magic then you might as well not use it!"
At this time Violet could no longer keep holding onto him especially when it became very clear that the simple conversation they had been having was slowly dissolving into a bug arguement.
"Even if the benefits outweighed the cost?" She asked him as she backed away with an astounded look on her face only to watch as he met her gaze without so much as hesitating or flinching when he spoke.
"When dealing with witches, the benefits can never outweigh the cost!" He responded which only served to piss Violet off more as she outrightly glared at him when she opened her mouth to speak next.
"In case you’ve forgotten I’m a witch!" He said pointing at her purple eyes as she spoke with a louder tone than before.
"...which means my fucking mother is also a witch! Whatever vendetta you have against them should be towards the person that cursed you not all of them!"
"They all can’t be so bad!" She told him only to watch as Cain lightly shook his head.
"They’re all just as bad. They would kill and use anything if it would improve whatever experiment they’re working on," he replied, trying to convince Violet who looked like thoroughly unconvinced.
Yes some of them might be bad but Uva wasn’t. All she wanted was to survive.
"Fine! If you won’t listen to me then there’s no reason to continue arguing about this!" Violet said as she headed towards the door about to pull it open and walk out of the room only to feel the door jerk back and slam shut just as she opened it.
Turning around to see Cain standing right behind her holding the door shut and staring right at her with a mostly blank look on his face.
Again she tried pulling the door back open but it soon became obvious that unless Cain allowed her to she might as well save her strength since the door wouldn’t open no matter what she did.
"What?" She finally asked turning to look squarely at him only to see his golden eyes boring right into hers as he spoke.
"You are not to meet any of them!" He said and he had barely spoken when a flash of undiluted anger appeared in Violet’s eyes accompanied by a trace of sadness that made her wonder if their relationship was back to Cain giving her orders and expecting her to follow it.
As she opened her mouth and shot right back with a very heated tone.
"...Is that an order?" She asked him meeting his gaze as she spoke even as she balled both fists right beside her on either side of her.
A bit surprised to see Cain lightly shake his head as he moved back to allow her open the door as he spoke.
"NO!" He said with a light chuckle in his tone as his gaze was focused solely on her and nothing else.
"I can’t order you around Violet, we both know that!" He said and Violet couldn’t help but let out a breathe of relief as she nodded her head and stepped out with a twinge of relief in her heart.
But Cain had just shut the door behind her when he turned to fix his gaze on the empty room even as he mumbled under his breath as he seemed to speak more to it than himself.
"...but if you do...I’m not sure what I’ll do!" He mumbled under his breath with a shaky breath that made it seem like he was scared of something he himself wasn’t aware of.
