Mommy Villainess-Chapter 351: The Opportunist
Chapter 351: The Opportunist
AFTER LUNA got away from the Royal Archmage and the twin combat mages, she used flight magic to stand above the ancient magic circle in the plaza.
From there, she could see people wearing cloaks with the symbol of the Fire Wielders.
And the Fire Wielders were currently evacuating the citizens living in the Royal Capital.
"Good job," Luna whispered to herself, relieved. "Please take care of the people of the empire, Lord Denver."
She was sure that it was Lord Denver who was leading the evacuation.
[He left earlier to look for Noel Sherwood. Now that Lord Sherwood is here, it only means Lord Denver is also here. Moreover, he’s the only one who can mobilize the Fire Wielders who are supposed to be in hiding at the moment.]
"Luna."
Her thoughts were interrupted when Noel Sherwood suddenly appeared in front of her...
... and he had a wonderful gift for her.
"I’m busy, so I leave this wench to you."
After saying that, Noel Sherwood threw the "gift" to her before disappearing into thin air.
[Heh.]
Luna grabbed Rosalia– the Royal Archmage who activated the ancient spell– by the neck. "Lord Sherwood is indeed ruthless."
Rosalia glared at her. "You blasted wench..."
The Royal Archmage couldn’t move or even wriggle out of her grasp.
After all, Rosalia’s arms and legs were both minced.
Yes, minced.
The Royal Archmage was also bleeding all over.
[If it wasn’t Lord Sherwood, then it could only be the Tigers who are capable of physically punishing someone this way.]
Rosalia sneered at her. "Even if you kill me, it’s too late to stop the ancient spell now!"
"Who said I need you to stop the ancient spell from activating?"
The Royal Archmage lost her smile as if she was confused. "Why are you smiling? Have you lost your mind because you’ve already given up?"
"As you said, it’s already too late to deactivate the ancient spell," she said. This time, it was her turn to sneer at the Royal Archmage. "But you still have some use to me, Rosalia."
"What are you planning– argh!"
Luna grabbed Rosalia’s neck tighter.
But she wasn’t doing that just to hurt the Royal Archmage. She was actually stealing the wench’s life force AND Mana.
"You..." Rosalia glared at her more viciously, her face pale and covered in sweat now. Although the Royal Archmage was acting tough, the fear in her eyes were quite obvious. "Stealing a living person’s life force and Mana is a forbidden act!"
The Royal Archmage was telling the truth.
In fact, Luna was aware of the consequences of committing a forbidden act. Even so, she had no intention of stopping.
[This is the only way for me to gain the power I need to fight the ancient Crades.]
If she couldn’t deactivate the ancient spell, then she had to fight the monsters that would come out of it to protect the people of the empire.
"Rosalia, I hate you so much."
The Royal Archmage looked at her as if she was wondering what the hell was she talking about.
"Because of you, my sister and I suffered while we were in the White Tower," Luna said bitterly. "I actually wanted to kill you, but this works, too. You should pay for your horrendous crimes by giving your life force and Mana to me."
Rosalia opened her mouth to probably curse at Luna.
But the Royal Archmage went into shock and, in just the blink of an eye, the wench turned skin and bones.
It was because Luna was almost done absorbing Rosalia’s life force and Mana.
"Damn... you..." Rosalia cursed under her breath as she closed her eyes for eternity. "See you in hell... Luna."
"Yes," Luna said, dropping Rosalia’s body which was quickly turning into dust already. "I’ll see you in hell, Rosalia."
She said that while helplessly staring at the first ancient monster that was slowly coming out of the magic circle.
[The ancient spell has been activated already!]
Luna’s body shook uncontrollably at the sight of the grotesque monster below her. "I failed..."

JULIAN, who was following Solenn who was possessed by a deity called Serafina, stopped when he realized that Winter wasn’t following him anymore.
He immediately looked over his shoulder to check on his brother.
And then he let out a gasp.
"Winter!" Julian yelled while running toward Winter who was clutching his chest tight as if he was in pain. "What’s happening?!"
He tried to help his brother stand, and Winter clung to his shoulder.
"It hurts, Brother," Winter said while taking deep breaths. His poor brother didn’t have the strength to raise his head to look at him. "I don’t know why, but everything hurts..."
Julian felt helpless at the moment.
[What can I do for my brother when I don’t know what’s happening to him?]
Julian wished he had the power to switch places with Winter so his brother wouldn’t be in pain anymore.
[I’d rather get hurt than watch my brother suffer...]
"Winter Nystrom, your physical body must be under attack."
Julian turned to Solenn while talking to the deity who possessed her body. "Winter is under attack?"
If he remembered correctly, Winter’s physical body should be with their parents.
That made him anxious.
[Did something bad happen that Mother and Father have to leave Winter unprotected?]
"Winter Nystrom, you must return to your physical body now," Solenn– no, the deity inside her body, said firmly. "You’ll be stuck in the Plane forever if your physical body died now!"
"No..." Winter said weakly. "If I leave now, you’re going to make my brother sacrifice himself for our family again... I won’t let that happen..."
Solenn looked stupefied by Winter’s response.
Julian felt the same way.
He thought his brother was mature and level-headed for his age. But he couldn’t believe that Winter was refusing to leave the Plane because of something stupid.
"Winter, didn’t you hear what the deity said?" Julian asked, frustrated. "You’re going to die if you stay here!"
"Then promise me..."
"What?"
Winter suddenly raised his head and looked at Julian, his eyes glowing menacingly. "Promise me that you won’t die for our family again, Brother. Only then would I leave the Plane."
Haaah.
Julian couldn’t help but find Winter annoying yet lovely at the moment.
[This is better than when he’s hating on me because of his petty jealousy.]
"Brother," Winter said impatiently, grabbing his collar while looking at him with his pupils shaking. "Promise me!"
"Alright," Julian said, smiling. "I promise to come back alive and live for our family from now on."

THE PLAN was to help the Moon God destroy the floating island.
But when the Fire Mages began descending, the Moon God ordered him to follow the mages and see what they were up to.
Much to his surprise, he found Soleil Rosenberg after following the Fire Mages.
[My love is back.]
And the best part?
He saw the Black Serpent send Winter Nystrom with some stupid snakes.
Of course, he followed them.
That was how Elis Ripperton ended up in the cave where he found the unconscious Winter Nystrom.
He didn’t know why the child was in that state, but he didn’t care.
"It seems like heaven is helping us," Elis said, sneering at the stupid snakes hissing at him. He wasn’t scared of those snakes since he had already killed plenty of them at the entrance of the cave earlier. They were just snakes who were slightly stronger than the average snakes. "Winter Nystrom, you are destined to kill Aku Moonchester."
He didn’t care about the kid emperor.
[But the Moon God is currently using Aku Moonchester’s body.]
"You are Aku Moonchester’s weakness," Elis said. Then he raised his hands and gathered his divine power in them. "Hence, I must kill you before you get to fulfill the prophecy. I won’t let you get in the way of the Moon God."
The energy wave that Elis hit Winter Nystrom with was powerful enough to destroy the entire cave. No, it was more than enough to erase the entire forest where the cave was from the map. In fact, he even had to use a barrier to protect himself from his own power.
There was no way the unconscious child survived his attack.
[Goodbye, Moon Serpent.]
