Zainah and her younger sister Zarah, both skilled thieves, find themselves in a dangerous Tomb after fleeing from authorities following a failed heist.
Zainah binds Zarah’s minor arm wound, caused by a sharp rock, and warns her about the deadly infection from mummy bites, emphasizing the need to cauterize such wounds. The sisters are in a dimly lit part of the Tomb, and Zainah, feeling guilty for dragging Zarah into this peril, hides her fear to protect her 14-year-old sister. To escape, they must find and consume a Tomb Heart, guarded by a powerful Guardian monster—a daunting task for two normal humans. Zainah suggests finding a torch to deter mummies, who fear fire, while Zarah remains optimistic, proposing they could become Tomb Raiders, escape their thieving life, and live luxuriously. As they talk, a wall creaks, revealing a golden coffin. A well-preserved mummy emerges, and as it does, Zainah freezes, her body marked by a glowing crimson flower tattoo. The mummy grabs Zarah, throws her into the coffin, and seals it, trapping her as the coffin vanishes into the wall. The mummy then turns to Zainah, noting "the mark of the crimson flower" with an intelligent glint in its eyes.
The mummy, revealing its name as Sett Ramses, seems surprised by Zainah’s crimson flower mark and questions her identity. Zainah, furious and immobile until the mark fades, demands Zarah’s whereabouts, but Sett admits he didn’t know Zarah was related to her, assuming she was a random girl. He explains the coffin is alive and likely took Zarah deeper into the Tomb, suggesting she might still be alive.
As more mummies approach, Sett tears off Zainah’s clothes, uses them to create a fire with Zarah’s matchbox, and carries Zainah away from the danger. He reveals the coffin would have consumed him if he hadn’t sacrificed Zarah, but hesitates when Zainah questions his actions, hinting she’s "family" due to the crimson mark.
Sett offers to save Zarah if Zainah kisses him, prompting disgust but eventual agreement from her. He then urges her to calm her mind, claiming their mental clarity is their only advantage in the Tomb, and asks her name, confirming it as "Zainah" with an emotional tone.
Zainah grows suspicious of Sett, who claims to know her and links her to the crimson flower mark that froze her.
Sett, meditating, recalls his past as Sett Ramses VII, the 7th Pharaoh of Ehyut, who wielded the Tier 5 Axiom of Reincarnation. This power allowed him to reincarnate into a new body within his bloodline, and he marked his family with the crimson flower to identify them in future lives.
He wonders why he’s a mummy and what his new Axiom might be, noting 370 years have passed since his reincarnation (current year: 204 ATR).
Sett tells Zainah she’ll save Zarah using her own Axiom, which he believes she possesses, despite her denial. He also mentions the name "Zarah, the Playful Puppeteer" in passing.
As her frustration peaks, her body glows red, and a bone flute appears, activating her Axiom of Playfulness—Song of Playfulness. This causes nearby mummies (and Sett) to dance uncontrollably. Though he did it for fun, not because the ability worked on him.
This ability only works on mindless people, and on sentient beings, it only works to daze them for a bit.
Sett confirms her power makes them safe from normal mummies and urges her to head deeper to find Zarah, while Zainah, realizing she has a royal Axiom, resolves to stay wary of Sett’s motives.

Sett and Zainah navigate the Tomb’s depths, avoiding traps with Sett’s expertise. Zainah uses her Song of Playfulness to pacify mummies, though her throat tires from constant use. Sett explains Tomb rankings (D to S tiers) and power levels (Tier 1 to 5 for Tomb Raiders and Axiom Holders), identifying this as a D-tier Tomb suitable for Tier 1 fighters like Zainah, whose Axiom is support-oriented.
He warns that eating a Tomb Heart wouldn’t make her a Tomb Raider, as few can master both paths, and jokingly says it’d cause "loose motion."
They find a coffin with a dormant mummy—Sett’s greedy acquaintance from his past—confirming this Tomb is tied to his bloodline. And he would get slightly emotional, quoting: "A tomb now suffices him for whom the whole world was not sufficient."
Reaching a Guardian Room, they see a regal mummy with a Tomb Heart in its chest. Sett insists on claiming it first to grow stronger before finding Zarah, despite Zainah’s protests prioritizing her sister.
Sett and Zainah confront the Guardian, a Tier 1 mummy. Ignoring Zainah’s objections, Sett pushes into the room, instructing her to use Song of Playfulness to distract it.
The Guardian charges Zainah, but Sett trips it with a bandage and burns it with wine-green flames from the wall torches, then runs out of the room and closes the doot, killing it.
He explains Tombs often provide antidotes near dangers, like a trial.
Sett takes the Tomb Heart, expecting to become a Tomb Raider, but instead evolves into a Tier 1 "Low" Guardian Mummy via the "Limitless Evolution Art," a mysterious system with stats.
His body improves slightly, but he remains a mummy, puzzled by this anomaly and a voice in his head detailing his transformation.
Sett’s stats reveal three Life Paths: Crypt Walker (Tier 1 "Low" Guardian Mummy), Axiom Holder (inactive Tier 5 Axiom of Reincarnation), and an unknown Innate Path, "Limitless Evolution Art" (10/100 Neutral Energy).
Unlike Tomb Raiders, Crypt Walkers can grow stronger by killing Tomb Raiders, but may be Tomb-bound.
His Tier 5 Reincarnation Axiom remains, risking his death if activated in his weak Tier 1 state. Sett and Zainah leave the room, relieved he isn’t trapped, and head deeper to save Zarah, his enhanced body making traps easier to handle.
Encountering a fat mummy, Sett swiftly kills it with a kick, gaining 1 Neutral Energy point (11/100), suggesting mummies yield energy while Guardians give more (10 points).
He explains Tomb Raiders need all nine Guardians dead to exit, but as a Crypt Walker, he might leave with one Tomb Heart—uncertain due to his unique state.
Facing another Guardian Room, a High Guardian with six Tomb Hearts attacks, its Axiom of Water dousing Sett’s fire attempts and nearly drowning Zainah. Sett blinds it and escapes with Zainah, warning it’ll heal and pursue them via moisture traces.
Sett fends off the High Guardian, whose armor resists his attacks.
They flee, triggering arrow traps that barely harm Sett’s reinforced body. He plans to gather more Tomb Hearts (two remain) to match the Guardian’s strength.
Hearing two Tomb Raiders—Big Man (Tier 1 "Low," 2 Tomb Hearts) and Small Man (Tier 1 "Mid," 3 Tomb Hearts, Axiom of War Calling)—Sett ambushes them, using Zainah as a decoy. He kills Small Man with a stealthy throat stab and Big Man with bandages and a blade, absorbing their five Tomb Hearts to evolve to Tier 1 "High" Guardian Mummy (6 Tomb Hearts, 50/100 progress), his body nearing a freshly dead state.
Sett’s kills detail Crypt Walker growth: living beings boost this path, not Limitless Evolution Art. Only killing mummies can boost that path. He attains bronze-like muscles and iron bones, but he lacks senses like taste and smell, as he is a mummy. He sighs, lamenting this.
He and Zainah press on, evading the pursuing High Guardian, intent on saving Zarah.
Sett, now a formidable Tier 1 "High" Guardian Mummy, leads Zainah to another Guardian Room. They find Zarah alive in a coffin, but a Guardian chews a severed arm (not hers). Sett kills it (2 Tomb Hearts), raising Limitless Evolution to 31/100. As Zarah reunites with Zainah, the High Guardian attacks, severing Zarah’s arm with a rock. It absorbs the dead Guardian’s Tomb Hearts, evolving toward "Grand" status. Sett urges Zainah to flee with Zarah as he prepares to confront the enhanced foe.
