My Evil Boy Toy-Chapter 280: Back Into Her Arms
Chapter 280: Back Into Her Arms
Peggy POV
I waited as Luke and the others instructed. I wanted to come to Jayden, but they asked me to stay.
Alora and the others begged me to stay and wait for Jayden. I know it was for my sake and Caden’s. In case something happened to Jayden, I must stay alive for my son.
"It’s been an hour. Why didn’t they tell us anything? We promised to communicate." I was frantic and worried when we didn’t receive a word from the others.
I know it wasn’t just me. My friends were also waiting for their partners, but they were calm and patiently waiting.
"Peggy, stop it. Trust them. Everything will be okay." Sophie said.
And then the door opened, Luke entered the room, followed by Andrew and then Percy. They stared at me blankly, making my heart pounded fast.
"J-Jayden. Where is he?"
I was beginning to lose hope when behind a man with a scar, Jayden slowly walked inside. My tears fell when I saw him.
He looked thin and had open wounds on his face. His lips were cracked and one eye was swollen. He was wearing an open shirt, showing a bandage around his body.
"My love!" I called and then ran toward him.
He walked toward me and wrapped his arms around my waist, embracing me tight.
"I’m sorry for worrying you." He said.
"No, no, please don’t apologize. I’m so happy to see you. I-I thought I lost you." I said while staring into his eyes.
I supported him to sit on the couch while we waited for the doctor to check him. I prepared a clean cloth, a disinfectant, and a change of clothes. Then I started cleaning his wounds.
"I think you should do it in the bedroom. We’ll talk later." Luke said.
Everyone agreed and so we took Jayden into the bedroom.
"I think I want to take a bath." He said.
"But your wounds. I’ll clean your body for now."
Jayden sighed. "Okay."
I couldn’t say anything to him when I saw his wounds. But the tears from my eyes kept falling.
"Hey." He brushed his fingers on my cheek, wiping my tears away.
"This is my choice. I wanted to end Benjamin’s madness so badly. Every day I’m scared of what might happen to you and Caden. So please do not blame yourself for this." He said.
I nodded. "The thought of you being tortured and being killed by him made me crazy. I don’t want to lose you. I can’t live without you. I’d rather live in fear of Benjamin as long as we are together."
"Oh, my love!" He pulled me into his arms and kissed me on the forehead.
"I promise I won’t leave you. I am alive because of you. You are the reason my heart is beating. I love you so much and I missed you."
I didn’t answer and just pressed my lips into his. It was just a quick kiss, but I wanted him to feel that I am here and he is now back in my arms.
Two hours passed and our friends came to check on him.
"What happened to Benjamin?" I asked.
"He’s now in the custody of the police. An investigation will start today. And we will make sure he will be deported back to his country and get executed for every crime he committed." Luke said.
I had mixed emotions about everything. I was happy that finally he was caught, but as long as he’s alive, I don’t think I will be able to sleep comfortably.
I felt Jayden’s hand and he smiled when I looked at him. For some reason, I noticed another change in him. I didn’t care about whoever personality is in front of me. Being away from him, made me realize that I am really in love witb of him.
I heard everything that happened on the day he escaped. He killed a lot of Benjamin’s men by shooting them and slitting their throats, but I don’t care. He did it for me and for our family.
A man named Kyllian was saved because of him. He was a former member of the Trekker Clan. Jonathan kept his family in one of the Wilson’s apartment buildings, but Jayden was able to free them. And for that Kyllian was grateful.
"I don’t know how to thank you for helping me and my family. I know sooner or later I also need to be on trial, but now I could face it without fear and without worrying about my family." He said.
Jayden smiled. "I know you were afraid of me. But the other me did it because he was also scared."
I saw Kyllian frown. He was confused even though he knew Jayden has another identity.
"What was he scared of?" He asked when I accompanied him outside.
I smiled. "Jayden’s mother was raped and killed in front of him when he was just a kid. His illness was because of that trauma. He was scared that it would happen to me and our son so he switched identities whenever he felt scared or if he was in danger. He wanted to protect the people he love this time. I now understand why he couldn’t be cured. He needed them. Somehow, he felt safe being in different personalities."
Kyllian didn’t ask further, but he promised to help with the investigation of the Trekker Clan and to be Jayden’s ally for the rest of his life.
The newsletter about Benjamin Miller, real name Jonathan Trekker was all over the internet and on television. I was happy that the investigation started and a lot of his men promised to cooperate in exchange for a minor sentence.
I wasn’t prepared to face my foster father, but the police came and invited me to stand as one of the witnesses. My mother was also invited and so she came with my father a week after Benjamin’s trial.
