My Goddess is Good at Pretending-Chapter 761: The Hope of Return
"Are you going to keep me waiting?"
"Give me a few seconds. The creature before me over there is an interesting specimen. Please watch me for a moment and tell me what you think later, Sera."
Sera asked with dissatisfaction, but Elysia handled it well by turning her attention to something that might interest Sera.
"That filth? Fine, show me what makes you interested in that thing."
Sera gave her consent and did nothing but watch everything from her mark on Elysia's left hand.
Feeling Sera's heavenly mark heated up into an active sigil, Elysia immediately removed her left arm sleeve.
Helfheim spoke. Its voice boomed like thunder from the sky that could burst one's ears and mess up the mind due to the abyssal disturbance.
"So you would throw yourself away for these weak creatures?"
"Not for them, but for the world that still holds their hopes."
"You have come to die, Unknown Goddess. You cannot escape entropy. You can never kill me nor escape me. You just delayed the inevitable."
Elysia did not flinch. She remained calm despite knowing it would be tricky to grant the enemy a true death. Killing the enemy when the Corrupted Nirvana Realm existed could never end the Sovereign of Abyss. However, she was ready for the experiment.
She pressed her palms together. The entire realm froze, and the darkness recoiled. A brilliant radiance purer than the dawn of heavenly divinity expanded across the sky.
Since the Sovereign of Abyss fused with Lady Nirvana's corrupted clone, even if it was artificially made, none could truly kill this monster with just superior strength. The Nirvana Abyssal Demon God's core and the Corrupted Nirvana Realm had to be destroyed to a certain extent first.
Moreover, Helfheim was currently in the process of transformation, and nothing could be approached by any means during this period because the Corrupted Nirvana Realm protected the host and core with everything it had.
'Even the villain's transformation can not be disturbed... they learned their lesson.' Elysia murmured in her mind.
The Corrupted Nirvana Realm should be destroyed partially to weaken its laws, but it would still require He-Dao's ultimate attack at his prime 18th Rank condition to break Helfheim's defenses. Other than that, then there was no method to break it during the skill's active duration.
"You call yourself entropy, yet your abyssal divinity did nothing but consume and corrupt things. You create nothing. You are nothing, and will end in nothingness."
With those words, Elysia raised her hand. She encased the entire Nirvana Barrier with many massive magic circles as if she was about to blow everything up with no remainder, but what she did next shocked Helfheim beyond comprehension.
A cosmic sigil formed behind her, spinning like an infinite mandala, woven from the threads of pure divine laws. It pulsed once. And then light erupted.
Thousands of celestial lances rained down, each one burning with the primordial divine light. They pierced through the abyss, igniting it, and causing the darkness to recoil and screech.
Helfheim shrieked. Its form shifted and twisted as its transformation was disturbed. From its core, a chasm of void-born nightmares erupted, spewing forth abominations of forgotten eras.
Sensing the Unknown Goddess aimed to ruin the realm's laws, Helfheim, threw his saved trap spell card, unleashing a tsunami of black tendrils, each one dripping with the essence of corruption.
Elysia simply raised her hand. With a flick of her fingers, the tendrils disintegrated into golden dust.
"Your corruption will never touch me."
She stepped forward, and reality obeyed her will as her absolute domain was activated to trap the enemy.
The battlefield shattered as the power between the unknown divinity and the profound abyss collided. Helfheim got its protective laws destroyed all of a sudden, and the next destructive force was unavoidable, forcing it to engage in a battle even though its transformation was not perfect yet.
The embodiment of the abyss struck out with its many arms, tearing through dimensions.
Elysia countered with cosmic force, bending time and space, redirecting the attacks into collapsing black holes.
Am compressed white sun ignited in her palm, and she hurled it forward. The explosion tore through the void, consuming everything in a fiery maelstrom.
Helfheim opened its true eye from its gaping belly wound. It unleashed a beam of pure entropy, an attack that had erased many Immortal Lords and God Kings before.
Elysia stepped through dimensions, dodging effortlessly. Her form flickered between existence and nonexistence as if nothing could touch her.
She reappeared above the enemy, outstretched her arms, and spoke coldly. "This ends now."
With a final motion, Elysia brought her hands together, and the absolute domain's universe trembled.
A divine seal appeared beneath the Sovereign of Abyss. A cascade of divine light erupted, sealing the abyss within an endless rift beyond time and space.
Helfheim's final scream echoed through the realm as it was banished for eternity.
"Gasp!" Helfheim jolted as its consciousness returned to the reality. That killing move was so insane!
It encountered one death. As much as it tried to believe it was just an illusion, it was actually not and it was truly hard to believe. There was no chance to gain an upper hand, let alone strive for victory. That final move was a one-hit kill.
It was both illusion and reality. Even though there were a thousand reasons to deny the previous indescribable occurrence, the death count was real.
"I got killed once?" Helfheim muttered in disbelief.
"I'm ready to visit your place. Can you please open the rift for me?" Elysia rubbed the heavenly mark on the back of her left hand, speaking to Sera.
"???" Sera had a few questions, wondering about why Elysia trapped that filthy thing in an unknown domain and killed it once with just a mortal spiritual wound.
During those few seconds, Elysia also installed something into the entire thick blue barrier that sealed this weird realm. Moreover, some weird threads caused severe destruction in the entire realm for unknown reasons.
Regardless, she didn't bother with it because she only wanted to bring Elysia back to her. Thus, she opened the spatial rift, the portal to her universe domain, without further ado. Yet, what Elysia did next left her stunned. Elysia wrapped the ruined realm, compressed it, and brought everything to her domain!
"It's the price for peace. This is not an end, only a return to the root. Carry my love into every tomorrow. Let peace and prosperity blossom eternally. Until we meet again..."
As the abyssal domain began to fold into nothingness alongside the entire Nirvana Barrier, her voice echoed gently across the Nirvana Barrier's divine link, reaching the Emperor of Heaven and all heavenly army in the Heavenly Realm.
The Corrupted Nirvana Realm collapsed, consumed by nihility. The mother of corrupted monsters, the reborn Sovereign of Abyss, and the entire abyssal army were obliterated. Everything disappeared from the sky of the Heavenly Realm. The Supreme Goddess of Mysterious Origin was also gone along with the entire Nirvana Realm.
Only a single petal of glowing sakura remained, drifting through the void, before dissolving into starlight.
The highest layer of heaven was no more as it got sucked into the unknown, and disappeared without a trace. The battlefield was no more, not even a trace of the corrupted realm. Only a celestial expanse of deep, vast void remained.
"We have won... but at what price?"
Amy mumbled as she reached out her hand to secure the dissolving starlight. She treated it with extra care, knowing it was the only variable left behind by Elysia, the Supreme Goddess of Mysterious Origin.
---
In the Heavenly Realm, a divine bell tolled once.
The heavenly army, consisting of tens of millions of divine warriors, knelt in mourning to honor their savior.
Because of her, they managed to win the Nirvana Great War, eliminating the corruption once and for all. She was also the one who ensured the souls of the fallen warriors who died on the battlefield could move over to the cycle of reincarnation.
This wasn't the end. It was the beginning for the Divine World to start over. Their savior might still be alive somewhere. The promise of reincarnation, the hope of return.
And in the Sacred Sakura Holy Land, the disciples and priestesses wept beneath the blooming sacred sakura tree. Their master's voice reached them a moment ago, and they knew it... their Goddess was gone, but not lost.
For they knew... one day, sakura would bloom again, and their master would return.
The abyssal calamity was erased, the Heavenly Realm's sky was cleared, and the heavens shone brightly once more. The Nirvana Great War was finally over.
He-Dao gazed at the Heavenly Realm's void sky one last time. Elysia's farewell voice still rang gently in his mind. It was a heavy departure that left a deep impact on everyone.
His voice, faint but clear, echoed. He spoke to his heavenly agents, servants, and guardians. "My duty is done. I'll entrust the heavens and the worlds in your hands..."
As much as he appreciated Elysia's help, he couldn't stay for long. There were many things he wished to convey, but it was already time for him to leave. He should reincarnate himself sooner, and so did his dearest Nirvana.
If Elysia perished with the Corrupted Nirvana Realm, he believed she still had a way out. In their next life, he would ensure she would live her life to her fullest, the life she desired, and he would do anything to compensate her for everything she had done.
His body slowly dissolved into light, returning to the eternal slumber. The heavenly core, his true body, remained as the Divine World's core, but his will and consciousness soon detached from the heavenly laws as he began his journey to the cycle of reincarnation with Nirvana.
'We'll meet again in our next life...' Lady Nirvana murmured as she looked at the Heavenly Realm's void sky one last time. She had weakened greatly, and could no longer speak. Elysia's farewell smile crossed her mind.
The Nirvana Great War was over and Corrupted Nirvana Realm, the 9th layer of heaven ceased to exist.
However, it was concluded with sorrow and tears. With the fall of countless gods and immortals, and the vast destruction in all heaven layers, the Supreme Goddess sacrificed herself to erase the corruption, and after that, the Lord of Heaven departed, reincarnated himself with Lady Nirvana into the cycle of reincarnation.
"..." Yuna clenched her hands. She trembled, feeling sad and frustrated. A few seconds later, she wiped her tears and steeled herself.
The Lord of Heaven left just like that, putting all the burden on their shoulders as if they were nothing but mere subordinates. In the end, he chose only Lady Nirvana above all else. He didn't even consider them, including her feelings...
"We should rebuild and repair the Divine World. Once everything is stable, we must do everything to find our savior." Yuna faced the heavenly agents, servants, and guardians. She never spoke anything about the Lord of Heaven as if she no longer put him into consideration.
In response to her command, no one voiced any objection. They didn't need to worry about their Lord because he was not even dead. He would surely return to them, but their savior is different. Goddess Elysia's fate was unknown, and she disappeared into the unknown. They should look for their savior, whether it was in the realm of the living or dead.
