My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 114
Chapter 114: Chapter 114
At that moment the tension thickened, suffocating them all.
Then the waiter’s chest rose and fell rapidly, his fear laced with hope, hearing Valentina actually believed him.
At that moment Hudson opened his mouth, wanting to protect, but no words came out.
Without wasting anymore time the waiter continued, with shaking voice.
"They promised me a position in Sterling Design," he repeated, his voice trembling but firm.
"They said that if I pulled this off perfectly, they would make sure I got a better job than this. A stable job. Something better than working here as a waiter."
Immediately a wave of shock swept through the Sterling Design staff. Their eyes widened, some murmuring in disbelief, others exchanging nervous glances, trying to process what they had just heard.
Immediately Hudson and Camille froze, their bodies stiffening. But it lasted only a second.
Then came the panic.
Then Hudson’s eyes darkened, and he immediately scoffed, shaking his head in mock disbelief.
"Something must be wrong with you," he spat, his voice laced with false outrage.
"Why the hell are you trying to implicate us? Because you got caught?"
Then Camille crossed her arms trying to remain calm, her expression twisting in disgust. "Unbelievable," she muttered, shaking her head. "He’s making things up because he knows he’s done for."
Hearing both of them trying to deny what they actually said to him.
The waiter’s face paled, but he held his ground.
"I’m not lying," he said, his voice shaky but determined. "You two promised me a position at Sterling Design if I did this. That’s why I did it."
"Shut up!"
Immediately Camille’s voice cut through the air like a whip, making a few employees flinch.
Then a muscle ticked in Hudson’s jaw.
"You’re just trying to drag us down with you," he sneered. "We don’t even know you that well! Why the hell would we offer you a job?"
Their voices dripped with desperation, but it wasn’t enough to mask their fear.
Because they knew, everyone saw it—the way they had exchanged looks, how they had shifted uncomfortably the moment Valentina’s bill had been questioned, and now?
Now, they were blinking at the waiter, their gazes sharp, their expressions tense—a silent warning to him stop.
A desperate plea for him to shut his mouth.
However Valentina didn’t miss a thing.
She leaned back in her chair, her fingers tapping against the table, her gaze locked on the two managers.
She saw it, and so did everyone else.
The other Sterling Design staff began to whisper, their voices barely audible but heavy with disbelief.
"Did they really...?"
"No way... but their reaction—"
"It makes sense now."
At that moment Hudson’s face twitched, his confidence wavering for a fraction of a second.
Camille swallowed, her hands tightening into fists at her sides.
But it was too late.
The moment the waiter spoke, the entire atmosphere in the restaurant shifted.
The tension thickened, an invisible weight pressing down on the room as the truth unraveled.
Hudson and Camille went rigid, their faces draining of color, their eyes darting between each other in panic.
Even the Sterling Design employees stiffened, their murmurs growing louder, the realization hitting them like a crashing wave—their own managers had conspired to sabotage Valentina.
The betrayal was clear as day.
And the waiter? He wasn’t done yet.
His hands shook slightly, but his voice remained firm.
"I have evidence," he declared.
"I have proof that it was both of them who told me to do this."
Hearing what he just said Hudson’s jaw clenched, Camille’s breathing grew uneven—they knew.
They knew they were trapped.
Without wasting anymore time the waiter pulled out his phone, his fingers swiftly moving across the screen before he tapped play.
Then came the damning voices.
Hudson’s deep tone, filled with mocking confidence—
"She won’t know what hit her. She’s new, clueless. The second she causes a scene over the bill, she’s done for. If she doesn’t have the money, it’s even better."
Camille’s voice, was laced with bitterness—
"She thinks she can just waltz in here and take the position we worked our asses off for? Let her embarrass herself. She’s nothing without that name backing her."
The moment the recording ended, a heavy silence fell.
No one moved, No one breathed.
The entire weight of their actions crushed down on Hudson and Camille in full force.
And just like that—they broke.
Without wasting anymore both of them immediately dropped to their knees, their arrogance replaced with pure, desperate fear.
"Director Valentina, please!" Hudson begged, his voice shaking. "It was a mistake! We—We weren’t thinking!"
Camille’s hands trembled, her face pale. "We were just frustrated! We—We let our emotions get the best of us!"
Their voices overlapped, their pleas turning frantic, but Valentina remained still.
She didn’t flinch, She didn’t react.
Her gaze was cold, unyielding, her hands clasped together as she let them grovel at her feet.
Then, she spoke.
"You want me to believe that?" Her voice was calm, but there was a sharp edge beneath it, a storm brewing beneath her words.
Hudson nodded rapidly, Camille’s head bobbed in agreement.
But Valentina wasn’t finished.
"First, you tried to sabotage a major contract, attempting to tie this company to a fraudster with criminal allegations." She paused, letting her words sink in, before continuing, "And now this."
Her eyes darkened, cold and sharp like steel.
"You wanted to humiliate me. You wanted me to fail. You wanted the entire staff to question my ability to lead."
At that moment Hudson and Camille shook their heads frantically, trying to deny it.
But Valentina simply leaned forward, her voice dropping into a low, lethal whisper.
"A lightning bolt doesn’t strike in the same place twice," she said, her tone firm, unwavering. "I forgave you once. That was your one chance."
Then her fingers tapped against the table, slow and deliberate.
"But I don’t make the same mistake twice."
Hearing what Valentina just says the realization slammed into them like a truck.
Their pleading turned frantic, their hands clutched together in desperation. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
But Valentina was unmoved.
"Henceforth," she said, her words clear and final, "you are both fired."
