My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 84
Chapter 84: Chapter 84
Hearing what Valentina just said.
Raymond shrugged slightly, as if it were the easiest thing in the world. "I pay attention."
Her heart skipped a beat.
He turned slightly, glancing at the sales attendant. "Show me something else," he said smoothly.
"Something that actually fits her."
The air in the room shifted.
Maria and Chloe’s smug expressions faltered, just for a moment.
Then Liam’s jaw clenched.
And Valentina? She couldn’t look away from Raymond, her mind racing with questions she wasn’t ready to ask.
The sale attendance tilted her head slightly, a professional smile still on her lips as she responded, "We don’t have this particular model in white, sir. However, we do have a Lamborghini Venom X—a far more exclusive, high-performance model. And it just so happens that we have it in white."
Raymond barely hesitated. "Perfect. White is Valentina’s favorite color when it comes to cars."
Then Silence followed.
The words echoed in the air like a sharp blade slicing through glass.
Valentina’s fingers tensed at her sides. Her lips parted slightly, but no words came out. How? How did he know? Not once had they discussed this. She had never mentioned it—not in passing, not even in a casual remark. And yet, he had guessed it. No—he had known.
Her chest tightened, an unfamiliar warmth rising inside her.
Maria’s expression froze, the sneer that had been playing on her lips now replaced by something dangerously close to disbelief. Chloe’s nails dug into her own palm, her forced smirk twitching as she tried to process what had just happened. Liam’s entire body stiffened, his jaw clenched so tightly that a vein pulsed along his temple.
But Raymond?
Raymond stood there effortlessly, his gaze locked on Valentina, a confident, knowing smile curving his lips. He hadn’t just spoken; he had declared it. Like someone who knew her more than she knew herself.
The air in the showroom grew thick with tension, the weight of Raymond’s words pressing against everyone present.
Maria’s lips twitched, barely able to contain the disbelief brewing inside her. Chloe’s grip on Liam’s arm tightened, her nails digging into his skin, but he didn’t react. His eyes were locked onto Raymond, a storm brewing behind them.
The sales attendant hesitated for a moment before glancing at Valentina.
"Madam, do you love this car?"
Valentina blinked. Love? The car? At that moment, she barely knew what she loved anymore. Everything was moving too fast—Raymond was moving too fast. How had he read her mind? How had he known?
She could feel the stares pressing into her, waiting, expecting her to react. Her lips parted slightly, but no words came. Instead, she found herself nodding, almost involuntarily, her fingers tightening around the hem of her dress.
Raymond turned to the sales attendant without hesitation. His voice was calm, unwavering.
"My wife wants the car."
The showroom fell silent for a moment as the words settled. The sales attendant, still processing what she had just heard, stole a glance at Maria and Chloe. Their faces twisted in disbelief, their smug confidence wavering for the first time.
At that moment Raymond remained unfazed, his expression calm, his posture relaxed. His confidence was unsettling.
"Sir, you want to proceed with the purchase?" the sales attendant asked hesitantly. There was a lingering doubt in her voice, though she tried to mask it with professionalism.
"Yes," Raymond replied smoothly, as if he were ordering a cup of coffee.
"Let’s handle the payment."
At that moment the sales attendant hesitated. This was one of their exclusive models, a car that most clients only inquired about before quickly backing down once they heard the price. And after everything she had heard from Maria and Chloe, she had assumed this man would do the same. But now?
Her fingers twitched slightly as she adjusted her blazer, forcing a smile to cover her surprise.
"Very well, sir. Please follow me to the payment department. They will provide you with the price and assist you in finalizing the transaction."
At that moment Chloe’s breath hitched. Maria clenched her fists. Liam, standing at the side, didn’t speak, but the crease between his brows deepened.
As Raymond took Valentina’s hand and led her forward, Maria’s voice finally broke the silence.
"Let’s see how long this little act lasts," she muttered under her breath
Maria’s eyes burned with rage as she snapped back into reality. Her voice, laced with venom, cut through the tension like a whip.
"What the hell does this bastard think he’s doing?" she seethed, her sharp nails digging into her palm. "Does he really think he can fool us? Huh? Does he think we’re stupid? He’s nothing but a filthy opportunist who got lucky! A miserable, good-for-nothing wretch who should be crawling at our feet, not parading around like some high-class gentleman!"
Her words dripped with disgust, each one sharper than the last.
"This is a joke! A pathetic joke! A man who was paid to marry Valentina now wants to act like he’s a king? What, did he beg, borrow, or steal just to put up this little show? Or maybe—" she let out a mocking laugh, "—maybe he’s just bluffing, hoping the price will scare him off before he embarrasses himself."
Chloe, standing beside her mother, could barely contain her frustration. Her nails dug into her palm as she clenched her fist, her entire body trembling with suppressed anger.
What irritated her the most wasn’t just Raymond’s confidence—it was Valentina. The way she stood beside him, unbothered, proud. As if she deserved this. As if she had won.
Her blood boiled, Was this really happening?
Was Raymond doing all of this just to make them jealous? To humiliate them?
Her gaze darted to Liam, expecting him to do something, to say something—to put Raymond in his place.
But Liam stood there, completely still. Watching.
As if none of this concerned him. As if he wasn’t the least bit affected by what was unfolding before him.
And that infuriated Chloe even more.
Her chest rose and fell with heavy breaths, frustration tightening her throat. She wanted to scream at him, to shake him, to demand why the hell he was just standing there like an idiot while Raymond continued making a fool of them.
At the moment her lips parted, but no words came out.
The anger was too overwhelming, Then her fists clenched harder.
Liam was useless. Absolutely useless. And she hated it.
