Back at the petrol station, Trixie and the rest of the Altered hunters hadn't moved from their position. A lot of them were still in shock at what they had just discovered and it wasn't the right time for them to move in while their mind was muddled.

Kim had walked off heading to the back of the truck to reach for some supplies. The other Altered hunters were concerned for her arm after she had been hit. She oddly had just pulled the arrow right out from her arm not even flinching, and then headed to the truck herself with next to no one following her.

They imagined she was pretty upset for having outed the traitor yet doing nothing, and letting him get away. Eventually Kim had returned and the rest of the Altered hunters were ready to act as well.

"Alright everyone, we need to be ready for anything when we head into the Garden." Trixie said.

"Wait, we're not going to go after the traitor?" Another hunter asked.

"We have already outed the traitor within our group." Trixie said. "We have all been part of the Altered hunters for a long time, and we can't start doubting each other now. Who knows how far he's run, we might never catch up with him.

"The best thing for us to do, and for the sake of everyone else, is to carry on with the mission."

Some seemed upset at that, especially those in the group who had a hunter killed, but they understood what Trixie was saying and why she said it. In the end she gave the order and the trucks were ready to move to the Garden nearby.

'Things just don't feel right.' Trixie thought as she stared off into the direction where Kai had run.

—— Kai after jumping on top of the truck and getting away from the hunters had quickly turned into his wolf form. He was far faster at moving in this particular form and tried to get away from the others.

He wasn't sure if Kim would be persistent in trying to follow and get rid of him, or if she had a way to track him or not, but in the end he didn't go too far away. He had reached the side of one of the hotels and then started to scale it vertically.

He could dig in his claws ever so slightly into the wall leaving a small mark and with his speed push himself so he could run up the side, he continued until he reached the very top of the hotel.

An area that was mostly off limits where water tanks and heat pumps would be placed. As he reached the top, he walked over to the edge and looked at the rest of the city, as well as the Garden that was in the centre.

"Crap, crap, crap!" Kai shouted to himself. "I can't believe I let myself get in that situation in the first place. I don't even have a phone to contact Gary or Austin to see if they're okay. Is it a setup by the vampires as a whole, or is it just that damned bitch's personal vendetta?

"Either way…what do I do now, with the situation I'm in?"

Kai was starting to think back as he did often when he was in situations. What he could have done to maybe better himself, he evaluated to try and learn from his mistakes so he didn't do the same thing again.

In this case, he remembered something, just before he had left, he looked at Trixie as the others were going to attack him, and he was sure, he had read her lips and she had told him to run.

'Why did she do that? Why did she tell me to run? Is it because she trusted me, she knew the situation with the Altered hunters as a whole and how it would go?'

But with how fast he had moved to get out of the situation. He had almost confirmed to all of them that he was indeed an Altered, so there certainly was no going back.

As he watched the situation though, Kai had noticed something since he was still viewing the situation from above. The trucks they had moved to the underground car park located under the Garden.

And suspiciously, from the same hotels where they had come from, cars were moving. It was so late at night that it was obvious to see.

"They still had more people in those hotels. Trixie was right, it was a trap, but it's a trap on a much larger scale than they thought. They're driving slowly probably waiting for them to get deep in the Garden, and then attack them."

Honestly seeing what was happening and knowing the important package wasn't with their trucks, Kai had it in his whole mind to just leave them. The Altered hunters, as well as Kim, they had it coming to them.

If he wanted to do something, it was best for him to just go and try help the others, and try to warn them about the vampires. Standing up Kai was ready to leave but he stayed there looking at the situation, and scratching the top of his head.

"ARGHH this is so frustrating, why did she have to do that?" Kai complained. "Why did she have to tell me to run? Why did I have to see her say those words?"

Conflicted, Kai turned around, but he only took a few steps before he had completely stopped in his tracks.

"I could smell you." The familiar voice said. "I couldn't before, but it seems for some reason I could smell you, I knew it was you."

Kai balled up his fist and started to grind his teeth as he looked at the man in front of him. "Midwak…this is not a good time to be standing right in front of me right now."
