Chapter 322 - Naruto: I am Uchiha Shirou [322]
"The village is not as important as you, Tsunade."
The calm voice echoed, creating ripples in Tsunade's heart, making her show a self-deprecating smile.
"Who would have thought that after all these years, someone could still sweet-talk me like this?"
In the warm and cozy atmosphere, Tsunade was teasing him. She was not the same Tsunade from another world.
Shirou chuckled and nodded. "I can't help it. After all, you're Tsunade."
This statement drew a disdainful eye-roll from Tsunade.
"Such an attitude... typical Uchiha."
One had to admit, Shirou's unabashed ambition and possessiveness truly fit the Uchiha way.
Wasn't that what the Uchiha clan was all about? If they didn't like you, you'd see it written all over their face. And if you dared to argue back, they'd be ready to fight.
"By the way."
Just as the atmosphere grew slightly heavy, Shirou seemed to remember something. A smile appeared on his face as he stood up and attempted to pull Tsunade along.
"Since this is the first time we've met, I bought you a lot of gifts today."
"Let go!" Tsunade glared at him. This husband from another world was pulling her around!
"Tsunade, you're living alone in this world, and it's clear you don't take care of yourself. Your house has absolutely nothing in it."
Shirou ignored her protests, his gentle gaze carrying a hint of dominance—making it clear to Tsunade that this man would not back down.
In Tsunade's large residence, which had been almost unused since she became Hokage, the sound of running water echoed through the kitchen for the first time in years.
Tsunade, climbing the stairs, paused when she caught a glimpse of someone in the kitchen cleaning dishes with a bright smile. She froze for a moment.
It almost felt... like a home.
"Let's go."
Leaving behind a shadow clone to finish cleaning, Shirou boldly led Tsunade upstairs to the bedroom, treating the place like it was his own.
Moments later...
"What is all this stuff you bought?!"
Inside the bedroom, as Tsunade opened one pristine package after another, she found racks of elegant, high-end clothes filling the space.
There were also countless pairs of exquisite high heels, stockings, and jewelry—an overwhelming array of luxury.
Tsunade's eyes widened at the sight. In all her life, she'd never owned so many clothes.
When she was younger, she had a few outfits, but most of her time had been spent on the battlefield in combat gear. Who had time for such frivolities?
Seeing her reaction, Shirou stepped forward with a smile, picking out some clothes and saying, "You've been wearing the same outfit for years. While it looks great, you can't keep wearing the same thing forever. Don't forget you're the Fifth Hokage of this world. Besides, these styles are all your favorites."
"Ridiculous! Those are the preferences of the me from your world, not me!"
The mature Tsunade pouted adorably, glaring at him. Her heart was in turmoil.
No one had ever cared about her personal life before. No one had ever cooked her a meal or bought her clothes.
In this world, she was lonely. People respected her as one of the Sannin and as Hokage, but no one truly cared for her. Even Jiraiya only ever invited her out for drinks.
"Tsunade, I spent an entire day picking these out, walking all over this Konoha. Honestly, your world's Konoha is so weak it doesn't even have decent clothing stores."
Watching him chatter on, Tsunade's gaze swept over the different colored stockings and high heels. Her face flushed, and she clenched her teeth.
"You had ulterior motives, didn't you?!"
She wasn't stupid. It was clear that much of what he bought wasn't meant for public wear but more for private settings.
Shirou put on an innocent expression and laughed. "You're misunderstanding me! In my world, you didn't have time to shop for clothes either, but later, when you were... um... motivated to start a family and research... cough cough."
He trailed off, but his meaning was clear. Tsunade's face turned red, then green.
Goodness! Was her counterpart in another world that wild?
And Kushina and Mikoto too? Whips, stockings...
"Don't you dare!"
As Tsunade tried to retort, Shirou wrapped his arms around her waist, his warm breath brushing against her ear.
"You've worked so hard all these years. But I won't let go of you."
The first half of his sentence was tender and warm, but the second half was a declaration of dominance.
It was a clear message—Shirou had made up his mind about her.
"Always belittling my Konoha! I refuse to believe your world's Konoha is all that great!"
Grinding her teeth, Tsunade brought up the other world she'd learned about through Yamato's.
At the time, it had been during the Third Shinobi War. Both worlds' developments weren't far apart. Even if the time flow was different and the other world had advanced more, she doubted it was that much stronger than hers.
At most, they might have maintained the strongest military.
Tsunade felt frustrated. If only Jiraiya and the others had supported her more boldly in reforming Konoha, it might not have fallen behind like this. They could have at least kept up with the likes of the Cloud and Stone villages.
But now, even this man dared to look down on her village.
"Perfect. Since the time flow is different, Tsunade, how about visiting my world and seeing for yourself?"
Hearing her words, Shirou grinned.
Before Tsunade could respond, she was pushed into a nearby chair with a yelp.
"But first, you should change into something else. Otherwise, people might think I'm mistreating you when we get there."
"You!"
While Tsunade protested with gritted teeth, her body betrayed her thoughts. Deep down, like any woman, she couldn't resist the allure of dressing up.
A fitted, waist-hugging ensemble with a dark red cloak on top enhanced her slender figure. For the first time, her long legs were wrapped in black stockings, paired with brand-new high heels.
"Is this how you charm women?!"
"Of course. My beautiful women deserve to be pampered."
Shirou admitted shamelessly, his grin is infuriating and yet oddly endearing. Tsunade found herself both annoyed and envious.
Finally, as she caught her reflection in the mirror, she froze.
Was that... her?
Beneath her heroic and dashing demeanor, it seemed as if she had instantly returned to her twenties. Her golden hair was gently combed by Shirou, and a pair of beautiful, playful twin ponytails cascaded down to her lower back.
The golden strands of hair on either side of her forehead, once groomed, made her look entirely different from the unchanging appearance she had worn for years.
If one had to use a word to describe her now, it would be "youthful and full of vitality."
"Hold on tight."
Before Tsunade could even react to his words of surprise, Shirou scooped her up in a princess carry. At the same time, his eyes revealed the Mangekyō Sharingan.
With the swift rotation of the Mangekyō, a space-time dojutsu was immediately activated.
Dojutsu: Divine Reflection!
...
In another world's Konoha...
"It's Tsunade-sama! And the Hokage-sama!"
"Wow, Tsunade-sama has become even more beautiful!"
"Tsunade-sama, we just got some new fabric in our shop. Come take a look!"
"Tsunade-sama, these are freshly made dango; I sold the older ones to others yesterday..."
As they walked down the wider, livelier streets, Tsunade looked incredulous. The economy of this world's Konoha was undeniably strong—far beyond her expectations.
More importantly, along the way, the familiar faces of Konoha's ninjas all smiled warmly at her. Beyond respect, their expressions also radiated a genuine happiness that came from deep within.
Each face was adorned with a smile of pure joy.
"So, this is your world..."
Tsunade was momentarily overwhelmed by the villagers' enthusiasm. It seemed that in her own world, what she received was respect, not the kind of heartfelt happiness she saw here.
Lost in thought, she lifted her gaze to see the Hokage Rock.
The familiar faces of her grandfather, the First Hokage, and her granduncle, the Second Hokage, were carved there. Following them was a faceless statue, but with one glance, she recognized it.
It was the monument of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
And after that was the handsome face of Uchiha Shirou, gazing down upon the entirety of Konoha.
While Tsunade was still adjusting to this unfamiliar world, her footsteps suddenly stopped.
"We've arrived at our destination for the evening."
When Tsunade came to her senses, she was stunned by the massive, brilliantly illuminated building before her.
A dazzling golden sign that read "Gambling" shone brightly, making her eyes widen in shock.
"Let's go! Tonight, I'm taking you to dominate the gambling hall!"
Rarely visiting a gambling den, Shirou laughed heartily as he led Tsunade into Konoha's most luxurious casino.
Once inside, Tsunade's eyes widened even further. She swore that not even the Fire Daimyō's palace in her world could compare to the opulence of this gambling city.
Everywhere she looked, there were magnificent gambling setups adorned with gold and jade. Konoha's ninja patrolled the area, ensuring security and order.
The entire casino was extravagantly luxurious, with countless alluring female attendants and attractive, seductive dealers.
Even more astonishing to Tsunade was the clientele—most of the gamblers here were nobles, merchants, and aristocrats from various countries.
"Hokage-sama has arrived."
"Haha, it seems Hokage-sama brought Tsunade-sama with him today."
"Look, it's Tsunade-sama, the Big Spender! Come on, everyone!"
When Shirou entered, many warmly nodded and greeted him with enthusiastic reverence. But when Tsunade appeared, the entire casino erupted with excitement. All the gamblers' eyes turned red with fervor.
That familiar gaze made Tsunade snap back to reality. She swore she wasn't imagining it—they were all looking at her like she was a cash cow!
How infuriating!
Grinding her teeth, Tsunade clenched her fists and shouted angrily, "Tonight, I'm going to win it all back!"
Her bold proclamation only made the gamblers more thrilled. The infamous big spender was here—it was like Konoha was handing out freebies. Finally, they had a chance to win back everything they had lost.
"Quick, bet against the big spender!"
"Damn it, I've been losing for three days! Three whole days! The Sage of Six Paths must finally be smiling on me—I'll recoup everything tonight!"
"I swear, if I win my money back, I'll go straight home!"
The gamblers, filled with excitement, scrambled to place their bets. Meanwhile, Tsunade forgot all her worries, her face flushed with exhilaration as she picked up the familiar gambling tools.
"I'll go small!"
"Reveal! Six, six, six—big!"
"Damn it!" Tsunade cursed in frustration, while the surrounding gamblers cheered with excitement.
As expected! No matter the world, Tsunade was still the same cash cow, the gamblers' Goddess of Fortune who always brought them winnings!
"This time, I'll bet big!"
"One, two, three—small!"
"Damn it! I don't believe this!"
"Haha, we won again!"
"Forget it! I'm done with this game—I'll play cards instead!"
In the dazzlingly lit casino, Tsunade seemed to let go of all her worries. Her eyes focused entirely on the cards, while the gamblers eagerly placed their chips.
"Tsunade, your luck hasn't changed one bit."
"Shut up! It's because of you that I keep losing. Stop distracting me!"
Grumbling, Tsunade sat in a luxurious chair, unaware—or perhaps fully aware—that Shirou had wrapped his arm around her.
Sitting in Shirou's lap, she didn't seem to mind. The man behind her smiled gently, watching her play like a child.
Occasionally, he would brush aside the golden strands of her hair that got in her way, pour her a glass of juice, or gently pat her hand to console her after a loss.
At that moment, Tsunade was entirely immersed in the game, as if nothing else mattered—or perhaps as if she had deliberately chosen to indulge in the reality of this world.
Deep inside, though, she was filled with jealousy and envy. This version of herself was far luckier than she was. Her brother and clan were still alive, and she even had a dependable shoulder to lean on.
A mix of heartache, envy, and complex emotions surged within her as Tsunade greedily savored everything this world had to offer—everything that wasn't hers.
She knew deep down that none of this belonged to her. Perhaps when she woke up the next day, it would all vanish like a dream.
So, she didn't mind Shirou's subtle actions. Instead, she allowed herself to believe that she was simply the other Tsunade in this illusionary world.
"Anyway, it's all about myself, so what's wrong with enjoying myself a little?"
With such a domineering mindset, Tsunade fully immersed herself in the gambling she loved so much.
She hadn't had this much fun in years, especially after returning to Konoha and becoming Hokage, where it was nothing but annoying work! Work! And more work!
"Damn it! How did I lose again?!"
Tsunade, like a gambler on a losing streak, gritted her teeth in frustration, yet somehow exuded an adorable charm. Beside her, Shirou smiled broadly, twirling a strand of golden hair between his fingers.
