Chapter 199 - 199

The flame cloud wrapped around Sara and Zixu, slowly lifting their bodies off the ground. They floated upward, embraced by the warmth of the burning mist.

"This is so magical... just like cotton candy," Sara murmured, stretching out her hand to feel it. It was warm and soft, surprisingly comfortable.

"You can play with it." Zixu smiled as he condensed a smaller, more stable flame cloud for her.

They rose higher and higher into the sky. Without the flame cloud's warmth, Sara probably would've started sneezing from the cold at that altitude.

Nothing went wrong on the way back to the floating nation After all, not many people had the time or energy to aim anti-aircraft cannons at the sky every day.

With a snap of his fingers, Zixu signaled Rossinanti to open the protective barrier slightly so they could enter. But judging from the delay, Rossinanti was likely off napping somewhere again.

Zixu felt a faint pressure as both chakra and Devil Fruit powers were suppressed to minimal levels within the city's domain. He frowned at the uncomfortable sensation and turned to see Sara moving around unaffected.

"Ordinary people are less affected by the seal," he muttered.

Sara, meanwhile, was brimming with curiosity. Everything about this sky-bound city fascinated her. It was clearly far beyond the Roran she knew.

"This feels so high-tech. Is it really possible to build something like this without the power of the Dragon Veins?" She poked at an automatic cleaning robot. It gracefully avoided her hand and kept working. She didn't know how it worked, but it definitely looked impressive.

"Let's see who's nearby... Neji? Good. He can give Sarah a proper tour." Zixu scanned the area, located Neji presence, and passed the responsibility over without hesitation.

"That perception technique where you merge your chakra with the rain... not bad. Maybe I should look into developing it further," Zixu muttered to himself. The potential was worth investigating.

Leaving Sara with Neji, Zixu made his way to a hidden chamber beneath the floating city. The space was filled with interwoven pipes that pulsed faintly, as though alive. Chakra flowed through them, supplying energy to the entire city—powering what remained of the Uzumaki Nation.

In the center of the chamber was Kakuzu—sealed within a transparent sphere. His reanimated body was pierced by countless tubes, constantly extracting his endlessly regenerating chakra.

"Impure World Reincarnation really has its uses. No exhaustion, no complaints. If they refuse to obey, they're basically a walking chakra battery." Zixu inspected the setup, speaking casually after confirming everything was in working order.

"Being sealed here and drained of chakra for eternity... pretty miserable."

Kakuzu thrashed violently inside the sphere. His limbs were locked down, but his survival instinct burned strong—his fingers twitched, and his eyes brimmed with despair and unwillingness.

"Hm? Got something to say?" Zixu clapped his hands, releasing the seal over Kakuzu's mouth.

"I know things about Akatsuki! Let me tell you!" Kakuzu blurted immediately. He knew Zixu wanted to deal with them. This was his best bargaining chip.

"I'm listening."

"You have to promise... seal me away permanently after this. I want my consciousness gone. Or just figure out how to kill me. Even Orochimaru couldn't." Kakuzu's words were a little incoherent, the endless extraction clearly taking a toll on his mind.

"Forget it, I'll decide what to do with you." Zixu didn't even bother pretending. Kakuzu was in no position to demand anything.

"No, wait! I just... I just want a clean death." Kakuzu finally relented. Anything to end his current existence.

"I kind of liked the old you—more rebellious," Zixu said casually, though he was genuinely interested in what Kakuzu had to offer.

"Where should I start?"

"Zetsu."

"Zetsu's a weird one. Looks like a damn pitcher plant. Might be a hermaphrodite, honestly. Seems like he's got split personalities. White Zetsu is excellent at stealth. His spores can attach to people unnoticed and stay hidden for a long time. Black Zetsu... I've never seen him do anything special."

Kakuzu continued talking, pouring out Akatsuki secrets like water. Zixu stared into his eyes. The way he talked didn't seem fake.

"Go on. I'm listening."

And so, Kakuzu ratted them all out. He even mentioned Itachi's love for sweets, Sasori's suicide and resurrection through Impure Puppet Art, and the fact that he was now controlling a puppet of his own corpse.

Zixu was stunned by the sheer amount of classified information. Meanwhile, Sasuke was having a confrontation of his own.

"This third power... Susanoo?" Sasuke eyes widened as he stared at the red spectral warrior shielding Itachi. His attacks couldn't even scratch it.

"Absolute defense... I'm still too weak..." Sasuke bit his lip until blood trickled down. The memory of his slaughtered clan and murdered parents burned in his soul, twisting his nerves with hatred.

"Why are you this weak? Has peace dulled your hatred for me? Stay alive and stay ugly. You're not worthy of death by my hands—yet." Itachi deactivated his Susanoo. His breathing faltered, and his steps slowed. But Sasuke, blinded by grief and rage, didn't notice.

He stood frozen, watching Itachi approach, his body paralyzed.

"Go. Get stronger. Konoha won't give you the strength to defeat me. Come back once you can either kill me or die trying."

"My foolish little brother..."

Itachi locked eyes with Sasuke and cast Tsukuyomi (Moon Reader). Sasuke fell into a genjutsu instantly.

Itachi grabbed his arm and tossed him aside. Dark flames—Amaterasu (Heavenly Illumination)—ignited from his eyes, directed at a specific tree.

"Oh? I've been found out." Zetsu emerged from the tree trunk, grinning like it was nothing.

Itachi didn't respond—he simply stared.

"Was it really okay to let Sasuke be taken away like that?" Zetsu asked after a pause, motioning to where Sasuke had vanished.

"That chakra... Kakashi." Itachi closed his eyes, sensing the familiar presence. Kakashi had intervened.

"I've shown Sasuke the Susanoo. He'll focus on evolving the Sharingan now... but what he truly needs isn't just that."

Itachi recalled a peculiar fruit—one Orochimaru had shown him. It had a lightning-like quality. That fruit... would be perfect for Sasuke.
