Coming downstairs, Yao Ran entered the kitchen, the doorbell rang before she could take out the ingredients for tonight's dinner.

Ding~ dong!

Curious about who was coming, Yao Ran walked to the door and opened it–only to see Yao Yuechuan standing there.

"Elder Cousin, you are here."

"Ran Ran, you said you would tell me the details about what Gao Shuwei did to you this afternoon." He said as he stepped inside the villa.

"Yes." Yao Ran answered and then led him to the living room.

After they took their seats on the couch, she asked, "What do you want to know?"

Yao Yuechuan met her gaze and asked, "Did he tell you why he wanted the Lingyuan Jade Pendant?"

Yao Ran shook her head. "He just told me to hand over the Lingyuan Jade Pendant and claimed he wouldn't hurt me as long as I listened to him."

Hearing this, Yao Yuechuan frowned in thought and muttered, "This isn't like him at all. He must be hiding something from us."

Yao Ran studied his expression and curiously asked, "Elder Cousin, do you know something?"

Yao Yuechuan snapped out of his thoughts and nodded. "I do. I remember him once saying that this world is doomed in the future and that only the heir of the Yao family can save it."

"At the time, Grandfather tested Lan Lifei's blood, but she couldn't use the Lingyuan Jade Pendant. Everyone assumed that I would become the Yao family heir because of that. However, Gao Shuwei told Grandfather that I wasn't the rightful heir."

Yao Ran pondered his words and said, "Since he has memories of his past lives, he must have known that you can't use the pendant and that Lan Lifei isn't a true Yao family member."

Yao Yuechuan nodded in agreement. "Exactly. But the real problem is we don't know what he plans to do with the Lingyuan Jade Pendant. Grandfather once told me that the heirloom's owner has the power to create a world or destroy one."

His frown deepened as he added, "With how crazy Gao Shuwei is, I'm afraid he is planning something even worse than destroying this planet."

Hearing this, Yao Ran also frowned but said nothing.

While the two of them remained silent, Long Yu came downstairs and walked into the living room. Seeing Yao Yuechuan there, he immediately understood why he had come.

Sitting beside Yao Ran, he asked, "Brother Yao, are you here to ask about Gao Shuwei?"

Yao Yuechuan nodded and sighed. "Yes. Unfortunately, Younger Sister doesn't know what he wants the Lingyuan Jade Pendant for."

Noticing the siblings' troubled expressions, Long Yu reassured them, "Don't worry too much. Since we don't know what Gao Shuwei is planning, we can just play it by ear. For now, let's focus on our space projects."

After he said that, Yao Ran and Yao Yuechuan exchanged glances. Then, Yao Ran stood up and said, "I'm going to prepare dinner."

"Alright." Long Yu watched as she left before turning to Yao Yuechuan and asked, "Do you want to join us for dinner?"

Yao Yuechuan smiled and agreed. "Sure."

While everyone worked tirelessly to complete the space station as soon as possible, time flew by in the blink of an eye.

Since she returned to The Origin's headquarters, Yao Ran visited Yao Zi'ao and fed him half a glass of lake water every day. After drinking it for more than six months, Yao Zi'ao's condition had stabilized, and his body was slowly recovering.

One morning, Yao Ran received an unexpected call.

Picking up the call, Yao Ran muttered, "Hello."

A woman's voice came a second later. "Hello, is this the Eldest Young Lady?"

Still drowsy, Yao Ran rubbed her eyes and replied, "Yes. Who is this?"

The woman on the other end answered, "I'm a nurse working in the VVIP division. I'm calling to inform you that Chairman Yao woke up just now."

The moment Yao Ran heard this, her drowsiness vanished. She sat upright in bed and asked excitedly, "Grandfather finally woke up?"

"Yes. We are currently running a full-body checkup and performing a few tests to make sure that Chairman Yao's body is fine. Also, Captain Yao is here and requests you to come as soon as possible." The nurse replied calmly.

Slipping on her slippers, Yao Ran said, "Understood. I will be there immediately."

After ending the call, she turned to see Long Yu already awake.

Looking at her expression, he reached for her hand and said, "I will go with you to the hospital."

Yao Ran nodded. "Mhm. I will wash up first."

Leaving those words behind, she rushed to the bathroom, while Long Yu got dressed and headed to another bathroom.

When they arrived at the hospital, Yao Yuechuan was already waiting at the main entrance.

Spotting Yao Ran approaching, he waved and called out, "Younger Sister, over here!"

Yao Ran hurried over, but before she could speak, Yao Yuechuan grabbed her hand and urged, "Quick, Grandfather wants to talk to you."

As he pulled her along, Yao Ran glanced back at Long Yu and saw that he was following them.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the VVIP division.

Yao Yuechuan turned to the bodyguards stationed outside their grandfather's room and ordered, "Don't let anyone in without my permission."

"Yes, Captain Yao," the bodyguards responded in unison.

Seeing that the siblings had something important to discuss with their grandfather, Long Yu said, "Ran Ran, I will wait for you outside."

However, before Yao Ran could respond, Yao Yuechuan said, "No. You come with us."

Without waiting for a reply, he opened the door, pulled both Yao Ran and Long Yu inside, and locked it behind them.

Approaching the bed, Yao Yuechuan took Yao Zi'ao's frail hand and said, "Grandfather, Younger Sister and her fiancé are here."

At his words, Yao Zi'ao slowly opened his eyes. When his gaze landed on Yao Ran, a weak yet warm smile spread across his face. "Ran Ran, come closer. Let grandpa take a good look at you."
