Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!-Chapter 279: | | The Dying Star, Orion
The air surrounding Orion's figure crackled as the deafening thunder materialized and roamed throughout his body. He hovered above the heavens like a god, his eyes filled to the brim with madness while a hideous grin etched itself upon his lips. He had been dishonored, and he must reclaim it. In an instant, a flash of light replaced him.
He became a bolt of lightning, piercing through the skies and bringing forth storms of unknown proportions. The Dragon of Liberation merely narrowed its arrogant gaze as a blazing golden thunderbolt crackled throughout its body. Orion wasn't mere the one capable of wielding the storms.
A shockwave of energy was expelled from its body, blowing away the forming storm in mere moments. The radiant sun gleamed from the now blue skies as Orion was nowhere to be found. One thought entered the dragon's mind. Did the Apostle escape? No, it was impossible. After all, these bastards were as prideful as their masters.
With this in mind, a figure instantaneously appeared above the head of the eastern dragon. His size was akin to an ant before a massive elephant, yet no fear could be found on his face. Was it confidence? Or ignorance? This was a question that remained to be answered.
A lightning bolt formed beneath his fingers as it surged with unparalleled intensity. There was no hesitation or delay as he threw it towards the dragon's head like a piercing dagger. Afterward, he disappeared before the lightning bolt could even make its way to the dragon. As arrogant as he was, the Heavenly Apostle wasn't foolish.
To fight the dragon head on, he stood no chance.
As the lightning bolt impacted the head of the dragon, electricity crackled with ruthless destructions. However, it didn't even scratched the scales of the Dragon of Liberation. The gargantuan and monstrous beast remained unscathed from his attack. But the battle was far from over, it had merely begun.
Orion emerged behind the dragon, only to find it nowhere. He gazed up, down, left, and right. There was nothing. The massive dragon had disappeared as though it hadn't existed in the first place, but before he could be relieved, he felt his instincts screaming upon him. Before he could escape, he felt a punch contacting his face. It was fast.
A single punch brought about a shockwave that broke the air. The atmosphere was split in mere moments while the Heavenly Disciple crashed unto multiple mountains before landing unto the shores of the Dominion Island. Blood dripped from his nose as he spit his broken tooth and bloodied tongue. The punch was unexpected, but it was understandable.
"You look surprise," Above him was a gorgeous lady with silver hair. Black draconic horns protruded from her head while her dark lizard tail laid bare behind her. Her golden eyes gleamed with authority as if she was gazing upon an ant that dared to challenge her. Orion coughed more blood as he smirked.
"I should have expected that. I have heard of you, Laplace, the so-called Dragon of Liberation. Such monstrous entity fighting for a weak nation that relies on tools instead of the profound like magicraft. How disappointing." Orion lightly chuckled as an armor of thunder materialized throughout his body.

He was considered as the fastest Apostle of Humanity. Only the Sovereigns were faster than him, and he would like to put that to the test. Leaving a crackle of lightning behind, Orion disappeared from his position and reappeared beside Laplace. Slight shifting her head, the dragoness avoided his kick and caught his punch.
"For an ant, you like to spout nonsense." Laplace remarked with an uncaring tone as though she was only dealing with a rat that managed to enter her home. It was ironic for the Heavenly Apostle as he would usually be the one looking down upon his opponents. It has been decades since he had been insulted. It has long been centuries since he felt his heart pounding so intensely.
Orion couldn't help but grin regardless of the seemingly god-like strength of Laplace. He once again faded like the wind while Laplace took a single step and followed suit. The two couldn't be seen, only the results of their clashes. The air rippled as brilliance blinked in and out of existence. It was akin to twinkling stars as it happened in a fraction of a nanosecond.
The temperature was increasing as the intensity of their clashes caused the very air itself to boil. The grassy expanse beneath them was burning away as stars blazed in mere moments. Orion, who had clashed against Laplace ten thousands of times during those moments, felt death creeping towards him. The durability of the dragoness was monstrous even by under the standards of the Apostle.
It was as if he was fighting against a Sovereign.
'Shit,' As he entertained his thoughts within a microsecond, Laplace was nowhere to be found. Orion felt his heart pounding as the strands of hair from his skin protruded from instinctual fear. He wanted to run away and escape. However, from the back of his mind, he already understood of his fate once he had met with the Dragon of Liberation.
It was either she or he died.
And he didn't plan to die.
Condensing the electrical energy within him, the heavens and the earth crackled with authority. He was supercharging himself, exchanging his very life force. To him, his long lifespan didn't matter if he would die. It was better to live for tomorrow than die today. As the thunderous energy condensed into a single point, he felt his body radiating with power.
His eyes gleamed with radiance as he muttered to himself. "So this is power... Is this what the Sovereigns feel? No wonder they rule the world." He felt unstoppable as he merely swayed his hands and mountains imploded in crackling thunder. His arrogance peered through everything, trying to find the dragoness. Yet there was nothing.
"Wher-" Orion swiftly turned his head upwards as he felt something in the heavens. There was nothing above him, yet a feeling of dread gnawed his spine. It was at this moment when he noticed a figure piercing through the air. He dodged as the figure landed onto the shores with a deafening explosion. His eyebrows rose while a chuckle escaped his mouth.
"I didn't think that the dragon would be so foolish." The Heavenly Apostle remarked while Laplace stood on the impact site with a steady gaze. "Only a quarter of your life remains now... Was it worth it?" She questioned him, who smirked. "How could it be not worth it? Because of this power, you will die by my hands. My master will reward me for my sacrifices."
"I see..." Laplace disappeared from the spot as she reappeared behind Orion. She threw a side kick which Orion easily dodged and countered with a straight punch. And it wasn't a mere punch. It carried a weight that would decimate an island. Shifting her head, the punch went through her body, feeling the heat of the crackling thunder over her face.
Brilliance flashed with piercing light as everything behind Laplace was flattened into damnation. There was nothing but the ashen remnants of collapsed mountains. There was no doubt, a chunk of the Dominion Island had disappeared from that attack. Her attention returned to Orion, who smirked. However, it immediately faded as he noticed her grinning at him.
"I think this is enough." She muttered as she punched him towards the ground. An explosion resounded as Orion felt pain, but also immortality. "Enough? I will never die no matter how much you punch me. I am immortal!" He laughed in madness as he realized his power. What should have injured him merely brought him pain now, and he felt invincible.
"Oh? I guess I'll keep punching you." Without a tinge of hesitation or delay, Laplace threw another punch which cracked the air. A shockwave exploded outward as Orion descended deeper into the ground. Unfortunately, Orion remained uninjured as his overcharged state rendered physical attacks useless. He really was invincible, though now that he was deep enough, Laplace smirked.
Beyond the exosphere, several spell circles circulated and orbited one another. At the very center of them was the sun itself. It was the draconic breath of Laplace that had been reinforced and augmented with various, intricate spell circles. It was the same spell she had used during the spar with her husband, however, this was much more concentrated than that.
Upon her command, the magic circle maintaining the stability faded into nothingness. And the sun had nowhere to go than down. As it penetrated through the atmosphere, Orion who was trapped amidst the rubble hundreds of meters deep and reveled in his immortality felt a tinge of dread. His gaze peered out, and it was at that moment he noticed the descending sun.
Time slowed down for the Heavenly Disciple as his body gleamed with piercing radiance. It started as micro seconds and quickly descended into nano seconds. It was an instant that he was about to make his quick escape from the trap he had been tricked into by his vanity and arrogance. Yet, there was nothing but the luster of what brought creation before him. He was already too late.
What followed wasn't a blinding explosion. It was a pillar of light as though the judgement of the heavens have descended upon the earth. It stood like a towering monolith of divine retribution, fading only moments later. Laplace stood with an uncaring gaze while a depression of unprecedented magnitude was before her. It was a sink hole that was tens of kilometers deep.
The air swirled towards it like a surging river while the vast expanse of water from the sea fell into the endless abyss like a waterfall. While looking at her work of art, only a single thought was within Laplace's mind.
"Would they mind a giant hole near their shores?"
"Nah, they'll appreciate it." The dragoness shook her head and disappeared from the spot as though it wasn't her problem to begin with.
