Nightmare Assault-Chapter 367: Hua Ren Hospital
Chapter 367: Hua Ren Hospital
The woman didn’t stand on ceremony. When she noticed Chen Yi and Fatty didn’t intend to enter her home, she slammed the door closed. Fatty barely had the time to react. Chen Yi glanced at the closed door. She lowered her voice and told Fatty, “Let’s go.”
After returning to Room 710, Chen Yi glanced at the clock on the wall. She silently took note of the time. Fatty looked more nervous than Chen Yi. The back of his hands started to sweat. As time passed, Fatty had to ask, “Will something happen to them?” He swallowed nervously.
That room gave Fatty a bad feeling. It had a horrible smell that was hard to describe.
Thinking about the smell, Chen Yi’s face darkened. She had picked up a similar scene when she worked with trace evidence. She had experienced the scent at the morgue. It was the smell of decaying bodies.
Chen Yi remembered that the corpse from back then was so decomposed that it had melted into the mattress. The clothes couldn’t be recognised. They couldn’t be removed normally, so they had to be cut. The white and fatty maggots wiggled in the flesh. The memory was intense. She backed away and knelt at the corner. She almost vomited.
However, Chen Yi didn’t tell Fatty about all these. “They should be fine. We need to be patient.”
“The room is messy. Find a place to sit.” The woman offered.
“Thank you.” Chu Jiu was very obedient and police. That was part of her personality.
The house was darker than Jiang Cheng thought. The window was blocked off by a thick curtain. A bright orange lamp sat in the corner. It resembled a night light. Using the dim lightning, Jiang Cheng scanned the room. The layout was similar to his rental room. However, there was a lot more furniture, so the space appeared more cramped.

The couch in the living room became grey from age. There were many wrinkles. The left was the kitchen, the bathroom was at the corner, and the right was the bedroom. The bedroom door was closed. Everything looked peaceful.
The woman exited the kitchen with two glasses of water. She placed them on the coffee table.
“Please drink,” The woman said.
“Thank you.” Jiang Cheng accepted the glasses and handed one to Chu Jiu. He turned back to the woman, “You said no one should live in Room 710. Why is that?”
The woman gulped down the water and put down the glass. “The landlord probably didn’t tell you this, but a mad woman used to live there.”
“A mad woman?” Chu Jiu stared at the woman. The woman nodded. Her constitution was weak. She had to take deep breaths between sentences. Even though the room was not cold, the woman wore a thick, high-collar sweater. The collar covered her chin.
“Yes, a mad woman.” The woman’s face dropped as she remembered something. “Once the night fell, she would start acting up. At first, there was only crying. Then, it escalated to cursing and crying. The words said were horrible.” The woman sighed. “In the end, she started to throw stuff. She even tossed them out into the corridors.
“You couldn’t imagine it. One time, she carried a mirror larger than she was with a thick wooden frame and slammed it on the corridor floor. The mirror shards were everywhere.”
Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes. He finally heard something that interested him. The mirror…
Chu Jiu was drawn into the woman’s story. She waited for the rest of the story.
“That was not all. She even removed the mirror from her bathroom.” She stressed. “She used her hands to yank it off the wall. I opened the door and peeked out. She grabbed the edge of the mirror with both hands. Her fingers were bloody from cuts.”
“Did the woman only target the mirrors?” Jiang Cheng asked.
The woman stopped to think. “I am not sure. That was all I saw. The lights in the corridor were dim. The shards made walking through it very dangerous. What if people got injured?”
“What happened after that?”
“There was a sudden period of peace that lasted for a few days.” The woman leaned on the couch. “Then, the police came. There were several batches of them. They came in the morning and in the afternoon. The other neighbours said that the woman died.”
“How?”
“I don’t know.”
“Did she die in her room?” Jiang Cheng pressed.
“No.” The woman shook her head and licked her lips. “If that’s the case, I wouldn’t dare to stay here. I heard she died outside.”
“How long did the woman stay here?”
“It was quite a long. Hmm… At least half a year.” The woman continued, “She wasn’t like that when she moved in, or we wouldn’t have allowed her to rent a room here. A week after she acted up… she was gone. 𝔯ᴀℕo͍𝔟ĚṨ
“She was a nice lady. She looked pretty and knew how to take care of herself. I heard she was a model.” The woman elaborated, “She had long and fair legs.”
Jiang Cheng took a deep breath. They had found the ghost in Room 710. However, they still had no idea why the long-legged model suddenly lost her mind.
“What was her name?” Jiang Cheng asked.
The woman answered naturally, “Yu Youwei.”
Jiang Cheng was instantly reminded of ‘Shen loves Wei,’ which was carved on the inside of the ring Hua Luo had found. Shen should be Lee Maoshen and Wei… should be the model called Yu Youwei.
Everything started to make sense. There was a tenable connection between all the ghosts.
“Did anything happen to Miss Yu before she went crazy? Were there any signs?” Chu Jiu enquired.
“Signs?” The woman frowned. However, that appeared to exhaust her mental power. She reached up to tighten the collar around her neck.
Jiang Cheng took a quick glance, and his gaze darkened.
The woman didn’t seem to notice this. She continued, “I didn’t notice any signs, but I learned from the other neighbours who had already moved that when the police interrogated them, they kept mentioning a place called Hua Ren Hospital. I don’t know what it means.”
