One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 175: Roya and Doflamingo

Dressrosa was a beautiful island, a place of sunshine and fun, famously known as the "Country of Love, Passion, and Toys."

In the heart of town, along Lover's Avenue, Roya strolled with his assistant, and Yamato bouncing beside them.

Yamato's eyes darted around, taking in every detail. Her curiosity bubbled like a child's. She'd been waiting forever to get out and explore!

"Roya, look! Moving toys!"

"Yeah, I see them," Roya replied, calmly.

He glanced at the street. Toys of all shapes and sizes milled about, some like people, others like fantastic creatures. It was as if they had stepped into a storybook.

The people here seemed happy, too. If you didn't know any better, you'd think you were in a land of endless joy and riches.

Yamato tugged at Roya's sleeve, pointing to a stage in the distance. "Roya, someone's dancing!"

"Mm, very nice," Roya agreed, following her gaze.

The dancers were indeed quite lovely. Their energetic performances added to the island's lively charm.

This place would be perfect for a vacation ... if I had the time.

But this wasn't a vacation. They were on a mission.

Up ahead was the Corrida Colosseum.

And the Don Quixote Family!

Doflamingo swaggered forward with his usual bow-legged walk. His signature villainous smile stretched across his face as he stopped in front of Roya.

"Fufufufu, we finally meet, Black Hair Rear Admiral!"

"Doflamingo," Roya replied, stopping in turn.

The two men stared at each other, each trying to read the other's intentions.

"Fufufufu!" Doflamingo's shoulders shook as he barely contained his anger. "Dressrosa is my country. What are you Marines doing here?" he asked coldly.

"We received information that the evil scientist Caesar is hiding in this country. We're here to arrest him," Roya said, a slight smile playing on his lips. "Doflamingo, do you like that reason?"

"Fufu, how bold," Doflamingo replied, his face darkening. "This wasn't approved by your superiors, Black Hair Rear Admiral." The threat hung in the air.

"Well..." Roya started to reply.

"Buru buru~" The sound of a Den Den Mushi interrupted him.

Lu Yun took out his Den Den Mushi and whispered to Roya, "Sir, it's a call from Marine Headquarters."

"Mm," Roya acknowledged. He already had a pretty good idea of what it was about.

Dressrosa was a country affiliated with the World Government, and without special permission, the Marines couldn't just barge in and start searching.

Doflamingo clearly wouldn't let me do whatever I want. This call was likely an order to stand down.

"Kacha!"

"Rear Admiral Roya, this is Marine Headquarters. Please immediately stop all search activities in Dressrosa and withdraw from Dre--"

"Shut up!" Roya interrupted, his voice icy. "Who do you think you are to tell me what to do? If you have a problem with it, tell Marshal Sengoku to call me himself, got it?"

"And don't bother me with such nonsense!"

"Kacha!" He tossed the Den Den Mushi back to his assistant, then turned to Doflamingo with a warm smile. "Sorry, what were you saying? Could you repeat that?"

"..." The smile vanished from Doflamingo's face.

This Marine is even more of a troublemaker than the rumors said!

"Oh, right!" Roya said, as if suddenly remembering something. His smile grew wider. "I heard Vergo is lonely on the sixth level of Impel Down. How about I send you there to keep him company?"

"Fufufufu." Doflamingo raised a hand to his cheek, his Flamingo Feather Coat trembling.

Intense Haki began to gather at his feet!

Roya's eyes flickered downwards, and a grin spread across his face.

The next second...

"Clang!"

Their legs collided with a thunderous crash!

"Young Master!" The Don Quixote Family executives reacted instantly, drawing their pistols and aiming at Roya. If Doflamingo gave the word, they would fill him with lead.

Roya withdrew his leg and said coolly, "Doflamingo, you better watch yourself. If I catch you doing something illegal, your head will be worth a lot of money. I don't want to go home empty-handed!"

"..." Doflamingo's face was grim. He was now certain that Roya was targeting him, and that arresting Caesar was just an excuse.

But why? Where does he get the confidence? He wasn't so easily caught.

And what about the balance of power?

"I don't give a damn!" Roya snorted and walked past Doflamingo, heading toward the Corrida Colosseum. Since I'm here, I might as well take a look around.

"Let's go."

"Yes," Lu Yun and Yamato replied, quickly falling into step behind him.

Once they were gone, the executives' faces twisted with rage.

"Young Master, we have to kill Black Hair!"

"I know!" Doflamingo's face was a mask of cold fury, veins bulging on his forehead.

Roya doesn't care about the consequences, or the rules. That makes him dangerous.

But also predictable!

"Get CP0 here!" His methods weren't limited to Kaido.

After buying tickets, the three found a spot in the arena, watching the gladiators. The crowd roared with excitement.

Lu Yun was still worried. "Sir, wasn't that a bit..."

"A bit what?" Roya asked, looking at his assistant in confusion.

A bit of everything! Lu Yun thought, horrified. Arguing with Headquarters, provoking Doflamingo... it was all risky and could lead to punishment!

If they really find evidence of Doflamingo's crimes, it'll all be worth it. But if they come back empty-handed, it'll be a disaster!

"It's starting. Focus on the match," Roya said suddenly.

He understood Lu Yun's worries. He had acted boldly, and while it looked like he was targeting Doflamingo, it was really meant for someone else to see.

This country has potential allies.

Riku Doldo and the Tontatta!

If I can get their help, investigating the illegal dealings or finding Sugar will be much easier.

But gaining their trust won't be easy.

"Oh? Did they fish him out?" Roya watched the arena with interest. He saw a familiar face.

Señor Pink.

It seems the other executives have been rescued too.

"They probably used the World Government to get them out," Roya frowned.

If I remember correctly, Doflamingo is secretly making weapons deals with the World Government. And probably other shady things, too.

Like slaves.

That gives him immense power, enough to command even CP0.

Rescuing a few useless people is nothing.

If Doflamingo uses CP0 against me, it could be a problem.

"Roya!" Yamato tugged on Roya's sleeve, pointing to the arena below, her eyes shining. "Can I sign up to participate?"

"Yeah, go have fun," Roya said with a smile.

The bigger the commotion, the better.
