One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 211: Dragon Sweats
Chapter 211 - Dragon Sweats
Night had completely blanketed the world. Inside his study, Roya sat at his desk, carefully turning the pages of old navigation books.
You never really stop learning, do you?
He found himself with a rare moment of peace, an unexpected gift of time in this strange new world. It was the perfect chance to sharpen his mind. His upcoming travels would take him to many exotic locations, including the legendary Sky Island and the mysterious Fish-Man Island. Knowing how to navigate was becoming extremely important.
Luckily, Kaya's family owned a huge collection of books. It was the perfect place to study. He needed to learn about more than just navigation, too. Medical knowledge and ship repair were also important.
"Knock, knock!"
Kaya stood shyly in the doorway, holding a plate of food. "Roya, I made you some coffee and snacks." Her voice was soft, a little nervous.
"Thank you," Roya said with a nod and a warm smile.
She had grown into a beautiful young woman, kind and thoughtful. He couldn't find a single fault in her.
Kaya gently set the plate down. Then she covered her mouth and giggled, looking at Yamato, who was sprawled out on the desk across from Roya. The girl was fast asleep, drool dripping from her mouth.
"Doesn't Yamato like to read?" Kaya whispered.
Roya sighed. "She's doing great if she can even recognize all the letters."
He felt a little helpless.
Yamato had volunteered to keep him company while he studied, but she had fallen asleep in less than three minutes. Now she was snoring like a saw cutting wood.
Hopeless case!
"How are your parents, Kaya?"
"They're already asleep." Kaya's face lit up with joy, her eyes crinkling into happy crescents.
Just as darkness fell, she had used her Cure-Cure Fruit powers to heal her parents again, ensuring they would sleep peacefully through the night.
Kaya picked up a medical book and sat down quietly. "Roya," she asked, "are you leaving in a few days?"
"Yeah." Roya nodded.
He had asked Mr. Syrup to prepare a sailboat for him. The Syrup Family Dock was efficient. They already had a hull ready, so they could have it finished in just a few days.
To get to Fish-Man Island, he needed a ship.
Kaya's eyes clouded over with sadness. She knew Roya was always busy, but she still hoped he could stay home for a little longer.
But the young woman quickly pulled herself together, cheering herself on in her heart. She had finally built up the courage to ask. Her eyes shone with anticipation.
"Roya, after my parents are fully healed, I want to leave with you and be a medic on your ship. Would that be okay?"
"..."
Roya frowned slightly.
Being a medic was not easy. It was hard work and long hours.
Besides, the Syrup family was extremely wealthy. Kaya could live a comfortable life. There was no need for her to follow him and work so hard.
"What did your father say?"
"Father already agreed!" Kaya nodded quickly, full of enthusiasm.
She had worried that her father wouldn't approve, but he had agreed without hesitation.
"'If you can stay by Roya's side, I'll feel at peace,' he said."
Mr. Syrup, sensing his own end was near, had become more accepting. He and his wife couldn't protect their daughter forever. Before he died, he sincerely hoped that Kaya would have someone to rely on.
Roya was undoubtedly the best choice.
Even if Kaya hadn't asked, Mr. Syrup would have hoped she could be with Roya, maybe even marry him.
Kaya watched Roya nervously, terrified he would reject her.
"Okay," Roya said, nodding. "I promise."
Mr. Syrup was practically handing his daughter over to him, and Kaya herself wanted to go. It would have been cruel to refuse.
Years ago, he had even thought about marrying her, but those kinds of thoughts were long gone.
Of course, he still liked Kaya a lot.
She was gentle, obedient, and never caused trouble. How could he not like her?
----
Three days later, at the Syrup Family Dock.
A small boat, less than ten meters long - half the size of the Going Merry - had its sail raised high. The bow of the ship was decorated with a carving of a Frost Wolf.
The Frost Wolf Mini!
The hull was small, able to comfortably fit only four people. Any more, and it would feel cramped. But the small size also meant it was easy to control. One person could handle it, even in rough seas.
"Goodbye!" Roya called, waving to the Syrup family.
Following the narrow channel, the Frost Wolf Mini quickly sailed out into the open sea.
Yamato sat on the wolf's head, happily swaying back and forth.
"Roya, where are we going next?"
"Next..." Roya pulled out a sea chart.
The World Conference was about to begin. The royal families of each country would be preparing to travel to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise. The countries in the Four Seas were the farthest away, so they had probably already left.
The Revolutionary Army would also be starting their operations soon.
Yamato leaned in close to Roya, staring at the chart for a long time without understanding it. She could recognize some of the important landmarks, though.
She pointed to a logo of a ship. She couldn't help but swallow hard.
"Roya, I want to go here!"
"The Sea Restaurant?" Roya raised an eyebrow.
In East Blue, the Baratie, a restaurant on the sea, was a famous tourist destination. Many wealthy and important people went there.
Also, Sanji of the Straw Hat Crew worked at that restaurant.
If Fullbody is also in East Blue...
Roya thought of something funny and chuckled.
"Okay, let's go to the Sea Restaurant!"
----
Grand Line.
At Baltigo, the headquarters of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon spoke into a Den Den Mushi. "Betty, we need to be careful."
"Yes, I understand!"
Dragon held the Den Den Mushi tightly, talking to Betty, who was far away in East Blue. Cold sweat trickled down his forehead!
The Marines knew their plan.
Even though Black Hair had said he wouldn't tell his superiors, it was likely a trick to mislead them.
The Revolutionary Army had grown a lot, and its influence was spreading. At the last World Conference, some kings had suggested targeting the Revolutionary Army, but they hadn't been taken seriously.
According to information from their intelligence department, this World Conference would focus on dealing with the Revolutionary Army.
This meant the Revolutionary Army would face even more danger. Future actions would be more difficult and risky.
If they wanted to act, now was the best time.
Besides, the Revolutionary Army had been around for nearly twenty years, operating in the shadows. The Revolutionary Army in each Sea Area had been suppressed for too long.
Now, they needed a big victory to boost morale, give confidence to potential revolutionaries around the world, and give hope to those who were being oppressed.
The World Conference was the perfect time for a revolution. Even if they could only overthrow one tyrannical kingdom, it would mean a lot.
But the Marines had found out about their plans.
Dragon looked towards East Blue.
Having been a Marine himself, he knew how powerful they were. The Revolutionary Army, with its limited resources, was no match for them.
If the Marines were ready, the Four Kingdoms Revolution Plan would likely fail, and it could even lead to the destruction of the Revolutionary Army.
Overthrowing a kingdom wasn't something that could be done quickly. The war could last for days, weeks, or even longer.
If the operation dragged on, and the Marines arrived, the revolution would fail. And if the Marines were prepared, the time they had to launch their revolution would be greatly reduced.
Black Hair!
The arrow was nocked, ready to be fired.
Each army of the Revolutionary Army was ready. If they stopped the plan now, it would crush their spirits.
"Prepare to leave!" Dragon ordered in a cold voice.
He was going to East Blue to see Black Hair!
