Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Returning to the Residence, Experimenting on the Lab Rats

Early the next morning, Finn brought over more than two thousand Half-life Lotus.

Johnnie happily accepted them. Without lingering at the Yett Family, he prepared to leave.

He looked at Cecilia, who was carrying a backpack and looked simple and pure, and asked in surprise, "You’re letting Cecilia leave with me?"

"Yeah." Finn nodded and said, "The Yett Family has always had the habit of sending disciples out for training. But we’ve been out of touch with the world for too long. Cecilia is also simple-minded. I hope you can take care of her."

"That’s no problem." Johnnie also liked this simple little girl, Cecilia. But he thought that the best person for the training outside was Finn.

He said, " Finn, why don’t you go out for training?"

"Alas." Finn let out a helpless sigh and said, "I want to, but Grandpa won’t allow it. Grandpa’s health has been getting worse recently, and there are many things in the family that I need to handle. I can’t leave."

"The senior?" Johnnie frowned. He indeed remembered that Atlas wasn’t in good health.

In his previous life, when the game merged with the real world, Atlas also had old ailments. He sacrificed himself by self-destruction in a battle against powerful aliens.

He didn’t know if The Elixir of Immortality could cure Atlas’s old diseases.

Johnnie wanted to treat Atlas. If The Elixir of Immortality couldn’t do it, perhaps the early fusion of the game attributes could.

He still had a Fossil of Creation on him. If it could help Atlas, he was willing to let the other person use it.

"Finn, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Miss Cecilia." Johnnie clasped his fists and summoned the Void Sword, ready to leave.

He wasn’t very confident in treating Atlas, so he didn’t tell Finn about it.

Cecilia looked at the floating flying sword with curiosity and jumped on it immediately.

"Lord, what should I do?" Felix was at a loss. Although the Void Sword was quite large, it was a bit difficult to accommodate three people.

Johnnie glanced at him and said, "You figure it out yourself."

He didn’t want to take this old guy with him, and it wasn’t on the way to return to Sunset City either.

Finn said, "old head of the Wind Family, I’ll arrange for someone to send you away. The nearest city isn’t very far from here, and you should find a way to leave then."

"Alright." Felix reluctantly agreed. He had been thinking of flying with Johnnie using the Controlled Sword, but it seemed that this wish was going to be dashed.

"Add me as a friend in the game. Contact me anytime if there’s anything." Johnnie looked at the two of them and said.

Especially Felix. He trusted this old guy, but he was worried about the Wind Family.

"I’m leaving now. I’ll come to see you when I have time." Without lingering any longer, he jumped onto the Void Sword and flew away quickly using the Controlled Sword.

Finn and Felix watched the backs of the two as they left, filled with envy.

Flying through the air is the dream of martial arts disciples, and even ordinary people yearn for it.

...

"Wow, Johnnie can really fly!" Cecilia was extremely excited. Standing on the flying sword, she curiously examined the scenery below.

"Be careful. Don’t fall off," Johnnie said worriedly.

Cecilia performed much better than Felix. This little girl didn’t seem to be afraid at all. She walked back and forth on the narrow flying sword, looking completely fascinated.

"It’s okay. Johnnie will protect me." The little girl smiled innocently, without the slightest doubt about Johnnie.

The flying sword whistled through the air, and soon they left the mountain forest and entered the modern world.

"Johnnie, are those square buildings tall buildings? Is that a carriage? How can it move without a horse pulling it..." Cecilia looked at the scenery below in amazement and kept asking questions. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

"Yes, those are tall buildings. That moving thing is a car. It doesn’t need a horse to pull it. It runs on fuel or electricity," Johnnie explained patiently without any hint of impatience.

"How amazing! It’s like magic. Can I drive such a car?" Cecilia asked hopefully.

"That might be a bit difficult," Johnnie said helplessly.

He now had another woman without an identity by his side.

Lina was ok. She was just wanted by the Apocalypse Group and dared not go out casually.

And Cecilia had no identity at all; she was a complete undocumented person. To get a driver’s license, she would have to obtain a formal identity first.

He could only figure out a way when they got back.

"Johnnie, there’s a monster!" Cecilia exclaimed and instinctively hid in Johnnie’s arms.

The roar of an airplane echoed overhead as a passenger jet flew by.

Johnnie comforted the little girl and explained, "That’s not a monster. It’s an airplane. It’s similar to a car, but this thing can carry people and fly in the sky."

"Carry people to fly?" Cecilia widened her eyes, looking at the departing airplane and then at the flying sword under her feet, utterly confused.

"The outside world is really amazing," she said, her eyes filled with longing.

Johnnie smiled and said, "Stand firm. I’m going to speed up and get back as soon as possible."

With a thought, he controlled the flying sword and flew at full speed.

Two days had been wasted, and there were still many things for him to deal with in the game.

The wind howled in their ears.

Cecilia didn’t dare to move. She huddled in his arms, feeling the howling wind but still looking around curiously.

...

At noon, Johnnie returned to Sunset City.

"Cecilia, hold on tight!" he warned and then dived down rapidly.

There were soldiers patrolling the villa. He didn’t want to attract their attention. Since it was daytime, he could only land quickly.

The flying sword plummeted towards the roof of the villa.

Cecilia was terrified and immediately hid in his arms, hugging him tightly.

Hum!

The moment the flying sword touched the roof, its speed dropped sharply. It skidded for a short distance and then came to a steady stop.

"Wow, Johnnie, that was so exciting!" Cecilia jumped off the flying sword, not afraid at all but rather extremely excited.

Johnnie was speechless.

Just then, the door on the rooftop opened. Crysic heard the commotion and came up curiously to check.

"Johnnie, you’re back. Hmm?" She noticed Cecilia beside him, frowned slightly, and gave Johnnie a glare.

She knew she shouldn’t have let Johnnie leave. He’d only been gone for less than two days and already brought back another woman.

Johnnie felt a bit awkward and explained, "This is Cecilia, a disciple of the Ancient Martial Arts Family. She’s out here for training."

"Hello, sister." Cecilia greeted Crysic obediently.

Her brother had told her to be polite during her training.

"What a cute little girl." Crysic looked at Cecilia curiously and asked, "Sister Cecilia, since you’re a martial arts disciple, do you know martial arts?"

"Yeah. I do, and I’m pretty good at it." The little girl sounded proud.

"Really? Can you teach me?" Crysic asked hopefully, pulling Cecilia downstairs.

Johnnie stood there, stunned. He rubbed his nose. It seemed he’d been ignored.

"Sigh." He let out a helpless sigh, put away the Void Sword, and walked downstairs.

"Johnnie, you’re finally back." When Lina heard he was back, she rushed out of the lab and looked at him expectantly. "Did you get the Half-life Lotus?"

Johnnie was speechless and said, annoyed, "I thought you were coming to welcome me."

"Come on. You’re thinking too much. Hand it over quickly." Lina eyed his bulging backpack and reached out to grab it.

"Johnnie, I’m really happy you’re back." Holly also ran out and circled around him joyfully.

"Yeah, Holly is the best." Johnnie gently ruffled Holly’s hair affectionately.

Once Lina developed the Elixir of Immortality, Holly would be completely healthy again.

"Okay, time for lunch. You’re just in time." Crysic’s urging voice came from the living room.

She’d just finished preparing lunch.

"Wow, it smells so good." Cecilia stood at the table, looking at Abundant food. She took a deep sniff and couldn’t help but swallow.

"Don’t be shy, Sister Cecilia." Lina beamed.

She felt satisfied when others liked her cooking.

"Lina, it’s time to eat." Seeing that Lina didn’t come downstairs, she urged.

"Sister, I have something to do. You guys start without me." Lina didn’t show up.

Having just gotten the Half-life Lotus, she couldn’t wait and dived right into her experiments.

She’d had a lot of ideas these past few days and now was the perfect time to test them.

Crysic glared at Johnnie and said, disgruntled, "You two are such a headache. These two younger sisters are the best."

Holly and Cecilia were gobbling down their food without a care, but when they heard this, they nodded obediently.

"What does this have to do with me?" Johnnie complained.

Crysic ignored him, went upstairs, and barged into Lina’s lab.

"Sister, take it easy." Lina’s pleading voice came from upstairs. "Sister, don’t you want to stay young and beautiful forever? That’s what I’m researching."

"What?" Crysic exclaimed, staring at Lina in disbelief. "Can you really make people stay young forever?"

Lina nodded. "It’s true. There have been successful cases, but I still need to do more research and improvements."

She was right. Macbeth, the CEO of the Apocalypse Group, was a successful example.

But the previous Elixir of Immortality had some side effects. Since she aimed for perfection, she needed to make improvements.

"Fine. Keep researching. You can work until you drop. I’ll bring your food up." Crysic’s attitude changed instantly.

"Sister, that’s a bit extreme." Lina looked at Crysic’s retreating back, feeling speechless.

She started to wonder if Crysic was also a ruthless businessperson. Had she just escaped one bad situation and landed in another?

...

After lunch, all the girls rushed to Lina’s lab.

Johnnie wasn’t interested. Instead of logging into the game right away, he went to the forum to see what had happened in the past two days.

Nothing major had happened. Disciples of the Western Alliance, the Shawn Family, and The Doe Family were still blocked at the resurrection point in Solaris City.

It seemed these guys didn’t want to exchange people for the Half-life Lotus.

Johnnie sneered inwardly. If they wouldn’t let the people go, he’d just keep waiting. He had nothing to lose.

He put away his phone and was about to go to his room to log into the game when the girls came out of the lab.

Lina held a huge syringe, and the other girls all eyed him with mischief.

Johnnie suddenly had a bad feeling and turned to run.

"Catch him!" Lina gave the order, and the girls pounced on him.

Cecilia, in particular, was strong. She easily pinned him down on the sofa.
