Pokemon - A real story-Chapter 817: Cynthia and the Two

As Axel was getting ready for the next gym battle, Cynthia was also getting ready for her new region. She had obviously won the league battles, and now she could battle with the elite four whenever she wanted.

And the next region she chose was Johto region. This was understandable since Johto region had too many restrictions and it was better to challenge this region first.

Cynthia knew that Axel was also in this region right now and she hoped that she would meet him soon. She had lost to him 2 times in a row but she was worried about that.

Her Garchomp had reached pseudo-champion rank and even she didn't believe such a fast progress. Actually, she could not even say why that had happened. Raising a Pokemon from a tier 2 king rank to a pseudo-champion rank in less than a year was something that had never happened before.

A year before, just after the battle of Garchomp and Charizard.

When every one went their own ways, Cynthia was now in the hospital waiting for Garchomp to wake up.

Her family was with her but she didn't want to talk to them right now. She had never expected that some one could defeat her Garchomp but Garchomp didn't not only lose but also got permanently injured.

Axel had offered her a shady medicine that could cure Garchomp but even though she believed that Axel would not give her something bad, her pride didn't let her take that medicine.

Everyone was saying that the potential of her Garchomp was over but she didn't believe it. It was just instinct. She felt that there was going to be some way and her Garchomp would become more powerful in the future.

After a day, her Garchomp woke up. The doctor told Garchomp what had happened and then left Cynthia and Garchomp alone.

"Garchomp, do you want to beat that Charizard again?", asked Cynthia.

"I do but I don't think that I can now."

"Why? Have you lost your confidence? Do you think that you are now over just cause of this injury?"

Garchomp was surprised by Cynthia's confidence. Actually, it had already decided that its career was over cause it could not even properly walk now. But looking at her confidence, Garchomp started to think about it.

It considered itself as a powerful Pokemon because its potential was very high. But now it was thinking of retiring? How could it think such a thing? It still had to reach God rank in the future and become the sharpest sword of Cynthia.

Years ago, when it was just a Gabite, it had met Cynthia and they had made a deal. The deal was that Cynthia would make it the most powerful Pokemon and it would be her sharpest sword. It cannot go back on the promise when Cynthia had still not given up.

"Cynthia, let's do it. I will do anything to reach to the top!!!", shouted Garchomp.

"That is what I want to hear. I will give you 2 days to get ready. After that we are going to the special training.", said Cynthia and went out of the hospital room.

She immediately dialed her phone and called her grandfather and grandmother. Her father had died when she was just a child, so she only had her mother. Her mother was not a trainer but she still loved her.

"Cynthia, what do you want to talk about? How is Garchomp? I am sorry about all of this but since this was the battle you agreed to, I cannot do anything to Axel. He is, after all, the successor.", said her grandfather.

"Grandpa, do you really think that I am so weak that I would want your help in getting revenge on Axel?", asked Cynthia.

Her Grandpa and Granny were very shocked to hear such a thing at such a time.

"I don't need your help for this. I can do this on my own. Besides, I know that Axel didn't want to hurt Garchomp intentionally. I came here 'cause I want access to 'Unholy Oak Tombs'."

"Chinny, are you really serious about that? Your Garchomp is not ready for such a place, especially when it is injured to such a state."

"Granny, I can tell that my Garchomp is ready for it. I can just feel it. Just give me the access to it.", said Cynthia.

Both of them tried to convince Cynthia but they could not. Her reply was that since all of this was going to hell, she wanted to take a risk.

Finally, they agreed and after a few days, Cynthia and Garchomp were ready to go to the tombs.

"Lady Cynthia, before you step out of here, I want to tell you about the Unholy Oak Tombs. I know you already know about it but I will tell you again.", said a lady.

Cynthia was now in a building but this building was like a entrance that led to Unholy Oak tombs. She and her Garchomp was now ready for the tombs.

"Unholy Oak Tombs is basically the place where a lot of dragon type Pokemons had died in ancient times. You can see your bones in these tombs but I suggest you not take any of them.

Since a lot of them had died here, the power of dragon type energy is very thick here. It is almost suffocating and dragon type Pokemons could benefit from it but if the dragon type Pokemons are weak, they will be consumed by those dragon type energy as there is a lot of resentment in this area.

You might find some rare treasures here but be very careful while you take them.

It is very rare to find any Pokemons here and if you find them, they would only be dragon type Pokemons. But if you were to discover them then I suggest you run away cause those Pokemons would be exceptionally strong.

No one can come to help you in there and the place will be closed for 6 months but inside you will train for 12 months. The time is a bit unusual here. Nobody knows why that is though.

You will be given a suit that will help you counter those dragon-type energy and the deeper you go, the more concentration of the energy you will feel. You will have to leave all your non-dragon type Pokemons here cause you cannot use them there."

Cynthia only had 2 dragon-type Pokemons. Salamence and Garchomp. Salamence was a tier 1 king-rank Pokemon while Garchomp was a tier 2 king-rank Pokemon. She wanted to focus on both of them in these 6 months and train them to the highest level.

She left all her Pokemons and went inside. The door closed and now it was only her and her 2 Pokemons.

The first thing she felt was the aura of the environment. It was very thick and constricting. She was even feeling difficult to breathe and move in this environment. The place had grasses and trees but even the grass were in pale purple color out here. This was the side effect of concentrated dragon type energy.

Garchomp and Salamence felt very different out here. They also felt the aura of dragon-type energy. In these 2 days, Garchomp had tried to walk properly even without its left horn and it was doing its best.

"I feel that we should not go deeper now. Let's first train here for some time and when you get used to it, we will try to go deeper.", said Cynthia.

For days, they tried to get used to the new place. The energy was very harsh on them but it was also making them stronger.

"Guys, you have to get used to the energy and not only that, but you will also have to learn to manipulate the dragon type energy in a much better way. Only then could we move forward.", said Cynthia to them.

Cynthia was also getting used to the new place. Most of her time, she would exercise and meditate to get used to the new place. She was also training on her aura techniques, mostly focusing on her body.

Her main concern was Garchomp. After a few days, it had gotten used to walk properly but it was still useless in battle. The problem was its senses. Losing one of its horns, directly affected its senses and it could not properly sense it opponent properly.

Salamence had been a big help to this as they were constantly battling.

"Garchomp, you have 2 problems as of right now. First of all, you cannot sense your opponent if they were to come to your left side. Secondly, your balance is still off cause you don't have your left horn.

So, first, we will have to do something about those. You need to increase the sense of your right horn massively so that it will cover your whole body. There is plenty of dragon energy out there. Manipulate it to cover your whole body. Remember, it must be a passive move cause and you must do that subconsciously."

Cynthia was helping it in every way. She refused to believe that her Garchomp was not a waste. Salamence was not liking the over attention that Garchomp was getting but they were good friends and it knew how hard it was for Garchomp.

So it also started to help Garchomp.

Cynthia didn't know how much time had passed but she could make a guess that more than a week had passed here and Garchomp was finally getting hold of its senses.

It would meditate for at least 4 hours daily and try to use its right horn to sense all over its body. That was very taxing but it had to do it. Cynthia didn't let it train in any other moves till it had mastered its senses.

This place was very perfect to train this passive move cause Garchomp could feel all the resentment of those dead dragon everywhere.

"Cynthia, I think that I can feel everywhere around me now. I have finally done it!!!", shouted Garchomp with all the excitement.

Which surprised Cynthia to no end.

She knew the potential and talent of her Garchomp. She was confident that it could do it but it would have taken months to reach this stage but now, Garchomp had done it in just a couple of weeks? What had happened and what had changed?

Was this due to its drive to get stronger?

'No, a drive could only improve its performance by a bit, not so much. Is this the new environment? I don't think so. So, what is it?', she thought.

But this was good news and she didn't worry about it right now.

"Ok, let me test it. Salamence, come here and have a spar with Garchomp."

Salamence attacked it from all sides but Garchomp was able to detect its attack from all sides. Of course, blocking or dodging the attack was a different matter.

It still had to matter its balance. Also, Garchomp had to close its eyes while detecting those attacks.

What Cynthia and Garchomp had done was simple. Garchomp had learned 'Detect' and improved it to a higher level. It knew the move before but it had improved it now.

A few days passed and Salamence was now ready to go deeper. It had completely become comfortable around here and been able to manipulate these dragon-type energy. But Garchomp was not ready, so it had to wait for something.

"Why don't you try to form a shield to protect us from those energies too? I will need it once we get deeper.", said Cynthia.

Her suit could only protect her body but not her mind. As they go deeper, they would need some sort of shield and since Salamence had some extra time, it could train in this move.

In these few weeks, Cynthia was able to tell that if the Pokemon could manipulate these dragon type energy, not only would be able to learn any dragon type move faster, but their bodies would also get stronger including their dragon type moves. This was a treasure for dragon type Pokemons.

After another 2 weeks, Garchomp had also learned to maintain its balance while fighting. It was still not perfect like before but now it didn't need to close its eyes to detect its enemies and it had also grown used to the new place.

They were going deeper now.
