Pokemon: Spiritual Master-Chapter 518: VS The Five Genesect!
Chapter 518 - VS The Five Genesect!
The Genesect had already deployed their "Techno Blasters"—five cannons at the ready, set to fire at any moment.
Faced with this, Johan's expression instantly hardened.
A volley like that—even Mewtwo wouldn't dare take it head-on.
But in moments like these, Johan only became eerily calm.
"Ninetales!"
"Oowoo!"
Ninetales, already maintaining snowfall, had prepared for the worst. Walls of crystalline ice suddenly rose from the ground, each reflecting the silhouettes and glowing cannons of the five Genesect.
Perma-Ice Wall!
Simultaneously, a dazzling aurora barrier descended in layers, thick and stacked—Ninetales' strongest defensive stance.
At the same time—
Johan grabbed Dragonite's foot and used its speed and the obscuring snow and ice walls to dodge the range of the Techno Blasters.
Gengar dove into a dimensional rift.
Urshifu gave a quick rallying gesture and darted off, circling toward the Genesect through the fog.
Dragonite dropped Johan and ascended again, taking Tinkaton toward the obscured sky and vanishing from view.
"Keldeo, evade!"

Keldeo snapped out of its stunned state at Johan's call. Under Larvitar's urging, it dashed behind the frozen statues of the three Swords of Justice.
Next second—
BWOOOOM!
The light from the cannons peaked—and five distinct-colored beams erupted, utterly annihilating the ice walls and aurora shields Ninetales had constructed!
A searing blastwave tore through the white fog, sending a surge of heat through the snowy domain.
All five Genesect were strong—the red one at the lead was the strongest.
But their power wasn't just in single combat—it was their teamwork and synchronized actions that made them even more destructive.
So—
To fight them, they had to be split up.
For Kyurem, a solitary Legendary, that was difficult.
But for a Trainer with multiple well-coordinated Pokémon? Not impossible.
Sure enough—
Thanks to Ninetales' defenses and the obscuring snow, their first coordinated attack missed.
"Oowoo!!"
Ninetales' eyes shimmered with an azure light. The mist thickened, the snowfall intensified, visibility dropping even further.
"Draaa!!"
A cloaked Dragonite, clad in blue aura like a draconic armor, plunged from the sky.
And beneath that radiant dragon form—a violent red current boiled.
Outrage Mode—Activate!
Aura!
Johan unleashed his own Aura to soothe the fury within Dragonite as it entered Outrage Mode.
"Draaa!!"
Empowered by Outrage, Dragonite's aerial dive formed a dragon's visage—ferocious, icy, crashing down like Kyurem itself.
Seeing this, the five Genesect scattered on the red one's command—none dared take the hit directly.
Exactly what Johan wanted.
Dragonite veered in midair, not toward their center but toward one Genesect—its cassette glowing blue.
Water Cassette.
Each Genesect's Techno Blast was based on the cassette it wore: Water, Fire, Ice, or Electric.
"Regroup!" barked the red Genesect, eyes glowing as it relayed commands via its unique signal system.
The water-type Genesect began shifting into a mini-aircraft form, ready to retreat—
"Cha!!"
But from Dragonite's back, Tinkaton hurled her hammer—smashing into it and sending it flying.
Meanwhile—
Urshifu burst from the fog, fists swirling with water, launching Water Jet and Water Combo punches at the Fire Genesect—slamming it deep into the mist.
"Goka!"
Ceruledge struck the Ice Genesect with repeated Grudge Blades, forcing it back into the whiteout.
"Ninetales!"
Johan gave the signal.
A blizzard surged forth, sweeping up the Electric Genesect.
And again—
Crystalline Ice Walls and Aurora Curtains dropped, segmenting the battlefield!
"Damn it!" cursed the red Genesect, attempting to morph into aircraft mode to find its allies.
But—
"Ka-kaah~~"
Gengar sliced out of a rift behind it, tossing ghostly blue flames at its back.
BOOM!
The red Genesect abandoned its transformation, swatting the flames aside.
"You are no match for me," it growled.
But Johan had already achieved his goal—battlefield division.
Urshifu now fought the Fire Genesect—its martial prowess and type advantage allowing it to stall.
Ninetales and Ceruledge faced the Electric and Ice Genesect respectively—each with defenses or elemental edge.
Gengar was up against the red one—the strongest.
But the true breakthrough?
Dragonite and Tinkaton vs. Water Genesect.
That was where they had the highest chance to land a decisive blow.
Of course—
The Genesect still had the upper hand.
Especially the red one—now in the same icy quadrant as Johan and Gengar.
"Ka-kaah~~"
Unbothered by the red Genesect's dismissal, Gengar stuck out its tongue and slapped its butt mockingly.
Clap clap—
"Come on, then! Try to hit me!"
Nobody taunted better than Gengar.
BZZZT—
The Techno Blaster began charging.
Gengar instantly vanished into the shadows.
The mist rendered sight useless—but Johan's Aura saw everything.
He directed his Pokémon, coordinating timing and positioning.
Still—it wasn't easy.
Genesect, though built for coordination, were still formidable solo.
"They're weaker," Keldeo said, appearing beside Johan with Larvitar on its back.
Weaker?
Yes—compared to when they fought Kyurem.
If they weren't weakened, Dragonite and Tinkaton could only hold them off, not retaliate. Same for Urshifu and Ceruledge.
Even if separated, they'd still be lethal if at full strength.
Johan began to understand.
Right—no way they fought Kyurem and came out unscathed.
Plus, they hadn't seen a single Plasma grunt.
Did Plasma lose control of the Genesect?
Most likely—
To overpower Kyurem, Colress must've forcibly maxed out their strength.
Now, without his control, that power boost had vanished.
Weakened and injured.
That was why Keldeo said they'd grown weaker.
And also—Johan's chance.
BZZZT—
Red Genesect, unable to find Gengar, unleashed a wild sweep of its Techno Blast.
Even weakened, that cannon was still dangerous.
"The Swords of Justice!" Keldeo gasped, dropping Larvitar and dashing toward the frozen trio.
The beam's trajectory was aimed right at them.
Keldeo didn't hesitate—it had to intercept.
If the beam struck the statues...
"Gengar!"
Johan called.
"Ka-kaah!"
Gengar nodded from the shadows.
Tactically, Gengar should avoid direct hits from Genesect.
But the battlefield never goes as planned.
The frozen statues were now a wild variable.
And while Johan believed Kyurem's ice was strong enough to protect them...
He couldn't guarantee it.
Kyurem was no longer here—and if it had frozen them to protect them from serious harm...
Then their condition might still be fragile.
Keldeo stood firm before the statues.
It would take the hit if it had to.
Gengar stepped forward and patted Keldeo's back.
Then took position in front of it.
To Keldeo, Gengar's silhouette seemed larger than ever—overlapping with that of the Swords of Justice.
Its grin struck something deep in Keldeo's heart.
Was it going to be a burden again?
"Gengar, Mega Evolve!"
"Ka-kaah~!"
Prismatic light erupted—Mega Gengar descended, shadows swirling, energy surging.
"Maximize—Shadow Ball!"
Gengar gathered ghostly power between its hands—forming a massive black sphere.
Facing the Techno Blaster's beam, Mega Gengar only grinned.
Let's go.
The two collided—BOOM!
Mega Gengar flew backward, slamming into the ice statues, eyes squinting from the pain.
"Gengar!" Johan tensed—he had to decide.
Push Gengar to keep defending—or withdraw?
He didn't hesitate.
"Ka-kaah!!"
Gengar roared and stood tall again, belly out, pointing at Genesect.
"I'm guarding these statues! Even Arceus can't stop me!"
Seeing Gengar's spirit, Johan's doubts vanished.
Right—this wasn't that little Gastly anymore.
It had the power to fight Genesect!
They'd faced gods before—this was nothing new.
"Gengar!"
Johan clutched the Keystone dangling from his monocle chain.
Their bond surged.
Gengar split the giant Shadow Ball into two.
BZZZT—
Another cannon blast!
Mega Gengar didn't flinch. Johan's coat flared behind him—eyes glowing bright blue.
Let's do this.
But then—
A smaller figure darted past Gengar—straight into the beam.
Determined eyes, wind at its feet.
Keldeo.
From its forehead—light sparked. The broken horn began to regrow.
Then—
A jagged, deep-blue horn emerged.
Its sword.
Its badge of the Swords of Justice.
This moment—was its awakening.
No more hiding.
No more excuses.
"I can do this!"
Keldeo leapt into the air to meet the beam head-on.
Its voice echoed in Johan and Gengar's hearts.
They believed it.
Gengar vanished back into the shadows.
BOOM!
Keldeo clashed with the beam—
Sacred Sword!
Gengar reappeared behind the red Genesect.
DOUBLE SHADOW BALL!
"Ka-kaah!"
BOOM! BOOM!
The red Genesect was blasted skyward.
Gengar pursued—ghost flames trailing.
Now's the chance!
BZZZT—
The other four Genesect, battered, regrouped.
"Ice it!" the red Genesect shouted.
The four cannon blasts shot out—
White fog exploded as they emerged.
"Dragonite!" Johan yelled, stopping it from giving chase.
Not worth it—Genesect escaping wasn't a failure.
In fact—
Driving them back was a victory.
More so—some of them had come seeking help.
Johan looked toward Ceruledge.
He hadn't assigned it to the Ice Genesect just for the type advantage—
That one had seemed the most willing to cooperate.
And Ceruledge, with its Aura and psychic power, could connect with it.
"Goka~"
Ceruledge nodded.
Contact had been made.
