Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Story Behind

[TRIGGER WARNING: BULLYING]

The moment when Roby exposed his terrifying scar engraved deeply on his forehead which was hidden beneath his hair bangs, Kylian froze from shock and dread to witness it, as if his breath was hitched for a few seconds.

Even more than the scar, his painful smile was hard to look at, which made Kylian purse his lips before he asked in a trembling voice, "D-Did...Did Z-Zenith do that to you?"

"His boys did this to me...of course, under his watch." Roby slowly lowered his bangs down to cover his temple, however, his sad smile turned bitter when he narrated his story behind it.

"I belong from the bloodline where my ancestors were royal scholars, so...more or less everyone in my family has been blessed with gifted intelligence, including me. That’s how I qualified for the Elite Academy entrance exam with higher scores, hoping to graduate from here as a dignified student... But I didn’t know the hell that silver devil would make for me here.

"Since the day of my enrollment, they started bullying me just because I wasn’t physically stronger like his freaky gang of Alphas. Complaining to the Superintendent made me realize how biased the whole administration was towards Zenith, just because of his father’s powerful influence here. The day when they learned that my bloodline belonged from the ancestral noble scholars, his boys...wanted to cut open my forehead, stating the bullshit reason that they wanted to look at my brain..."

"T-That’s crazy! How could they do that to you!" An anxious shriek escaped from Kylian, however, none of the boys around them winced from his high pitch, as if they knew it would be the normal reaction for anyone once they heard Roby.

"Yes, that was the day when I realized...Zenith was a crazy, cold-hearted beast who permitted them to do that to me, just because he was bored and wanted to watch me writhe in misery." Roby clenched his jaws hard when his hoarse voice shivered a little.

His brown pupils had dilated, making the dread of that haunting memory still visible in his eyes, when he continued, "I was horrified for my life. I couldn’t understand what did I wrong to deserve that, but I begged Zenith to make him spare my life. But as expected, he didn’t bat an eye at my pleas. I still clearly remember the excruciating agony when his boys tied my arms and legs before they used a sharp glass cutter blade to slice open my forehead, apart from my loud, painful howls.

"The only last blurred vision I retained before blacking out from the terrible pain and blood streaming down from my sliced open forehead, was watching Zenith approach closer and smash his cigarette butt on my deeply engraved scar, to make sure that burnt mark never fades away from the scar they gave me. But that incident was enough to give me the burden of this spine-chilling agony I would have to bear for the rest of my life."

While listening to Roby’s story, Kylian didn’t realize when his ocean eyes were glistening in tears, as he couldn’t help but stare at him with a wide gaze of disbelief. Roby’s eyes teared up when he finished his story, and the second he met Kylian’s gaze, he tried to mask his pain behind a fake smile.

"I wanted to quit the Academy after that...but none of my family supported my decision. My father asked me to opt for plastic surgery to get rid of this scar, but he didn’t dare to confront the person who did that to his son...because I knew, he too was afraid of Zenith’s father who might ruin his hard-earned business empire within a few days.

"So, long story short, this is the kind of overwhelming aura his father possesses in this Westport city, and being his only son...Zenith gains the liberty to do anything he wants, including the right to mess up with someone’s life even if it’s all a fun game to him..."

"Roby’s not the only one who has faced this kind of brutal bullying." Followed by a brief pause, this time Jack walked close up to Roby before he opened a few upper buttons of his green shirt. Holding an expression of gloom mixed with reluctance, Jack shuffled his shirt a bit lower from his left shoulder, leaving a sight for Kylian to gasp aloud.

The fair white skin below his left shoulder blade was badly scorched and wrinkled, making the complexion turn black. Those burnt scars were so horrifying to gaze at that Kylian felt a terrible queasiness down in his stomach as if he was about to throw up right there, even though he didn’t have breakfast! fгeewebnovёl.com

Watching Kylian stagger a few steps back while turning pale, Jack quickly buttoned up his shirt before he mumbled with a heavy exhale, "I had mistakenly dropped some food inside Garry’s shirt inside the cafeteria, and even though I begged for their forgiveness, those boys burnt my skin using a hot iron rod to engrave this deep horror inside my head.

"My life had been never the same after that horrifying incident. I was forced to live with this fear around them because my family also refused to stand against Zenith’s father. And...Dan too, was also forced to jump off from the 7th floor of the building, to give a resilient test. Thankfully, the fall didn’t cost his life but he broke 5 of his ribs and now living with a permanent fracture on his rib cage, due to which he had to quit his soccer career.

"And as we tell you our story, I can say there were countless students who were brutally assaulted by Zenith’s gang, many of them chose to quit, and those who weren’t allowed by their families, just like us are suffering here. But you don’t know what you did for us by standing up against those bastards on your first day here, Kylian. You...are truly our idol, just as a strong Alpha should be."
