Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]-Chapter 209 - Sedated
Chapter 209: Chapter 209 - Sedated
The sound came too fast to react to.
Thwip!
A sharp hiss split the air as something thin and fast flew past Yunfeng’s head, missing him by inches. His eyes widened, his body ducking instinctively as he realized what it was—a tranquilizer dart.
He twisted the bike handle, his body leaning into the turn. The tires screeched against broken pavement, sending shards of stone flying.
"Shit," he spat under his breath. "They’re here already."
Another thwip—this time from the opposite angle. A blur of movement flashed in the corner of his eye.
Thunk!
The dart embedded itself in his upper thigh.
His breath hitched. For one terrible second, everything froze. Then his body flared in pain as something cold and numbing spread from the wound, latching onto his nerves like ice.
Yunfeng’s hands began to shake.
His fingers slipped slightly on the handlebars.
"No... not now..."
The roar of the engine grew uneven. His legs lost their tension. His vision blurred at the edges. The tranquilizer was fast—too fast.
With a violent jolt, the bike swerved out of his control. It skidded sideways across the cracked asphalt, sparks flying as metal scraped against stone. Yunfeng gritted his teeth, trying to stay upright—but gravity won.
The world flipped.
Then—impact.
His body hit the ground hard, sliding across the dirt and gravel, his white doctor coat tearing open at the elbows and shoulders. Pain seared through him. A harsh gasp escaped his throat as he tried to push himself up—but his arm trembled uselessly.
Boots hit the ground.
Then another pair.
The sound of rotors above grew louder, the air whipping with force as a black military chopper descended onto a cleared patch of road behind him.
Yunfeng blinked slowly. His heart pounded in his ears, but his body betrayed him, growing heavier by the second. He managed to lift his head just enough to see them.
Six figures in black gear approached. Their suits were sleek, almost alien, with no visible insignias except a small, glowing red tag on each shoulder. Helmets obscured their faces. Guns were slung over their backs, but two of them held tranquilizer rifles—still aimed at him. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"Target secured," one of them spoke into a comm device. "Y-07 has been sedated. Moving to extract."
"No..." Yunfeng rasped, trying to move, trying to resist—but his muscles wouldn’t obey.
One soldier moved in and swiftly bound his wrists behind him, checking his vitals.
Another leaned over, pulling a strange scanner from their belt. They pressed it to Yunfeng’s neck—it beeped twice, and then turned green.
"Signature confirmed. Subject’s core energy level is unstable. Proceed with caution."
Yunfeng’s breathing grew shallower. He couldn’t even curse them out. His lips felt numb.
One soldier tilted their head. "He’s stronger than we thought. He evaded the first shot at full speed. That reaction time’s... beyond human."
"He’s the only one who survived Ground Zero in city A. What did you expect?" another said grimly.
"We’re lucky he didn’t fry us all."
"Yet."
As they lifted his limp body, Yunfeng’s eyes fluttered—just barely. He couldn’t speak, but one word screamed in his mind.
Muchen.
************
Elsewhere, not far from the tunnel entrance...
Muchen suddenly jolted in his seat.
Jai turned in surprise. "What is it?"
"I... I don’t know." Muchen’s voice was a whisper, hands trembling. "I felt something. Like something’s... wrong."
A chill passed over him like a shadow. His heart began to race.
Zei, catching up from behind, shouted, "Hey! Tunnel’s just a few blocks ahead!"
But Muchen didn’t respond.
He dismounted the bike and ran to the nearest building, climbing onto the steps, looking toward the blackening sky. His eyes scanned the distance—until he saw it.
The chopper.
Hovering in the far horizon. Dark. Too clean. Too silent.
And then—vanishing.
His heart dropped.
"No..." he whispered. "No... no, no—Yunfeng."
Without another word, he turned on his heel and sprinted back toward the direction they’d come.
"Muchen!" Jai shouted.
But he didn’t stop.
Zei cursed and kicked a loose stone. "We’re gonna get ourselves killed chasing after him!"
"I’m not leaving Yunfeng behind," Muchen shouted, breathless. "They took him. I know it."
***********
Inside the chopper...
The interior was silent except for the low hum of monitors. Yunfeng’s body was strapped to a sterile white medical table, surrounded by steel walls and blinking lights. Electrodes had been placed across his chest and temples. A needle line ran fluid into his vein—fighting the fire inside him with suppressants.
"He’s still conscious," one tech whispered.
"Barely," another muttered. "We need to increase the dosage before the containment zone."
"I don’t like this," the squad leader said, watching Yunfeng twitch faintly. "If he loses control mid-air, we all die."
"Then pray he doesn’t."
*******
Yunfeng’s mind swam in fog. But underneath it all, something burned.
His memories flickered—of a rooftop kiss under the rain, of Muchen laughing in the sunlight, of a curry-stained promise whispered under a torn blanket.
And now—nothing but cold metal and fading warmth.
A single tear slid down his cheek.
And the fire stirred again.
Not enough to rise.
But enough to remind them:
He was still alive.
The low drone of the engines vibrated through Yunfeng’s bones. Though his limbs refused to move, his mind clawed at consciousness with growing desperation.
Don’t... take me... away.
The suppressants pumped into his veins dulled the heat in his blood, but not the ache in his chest. He felt as if something vital was being stolen from him.
I promised... I’d keep Muchen safe. I promised.
The fire under his skin began to flicker again. A warning glow shimmered faintly beneath his closed lids—just a spark, but it was enough to make the monitors blare.
"Core temperature’s spiking!" the tech closest to him shouted. "He’s pushing back—his immune system is rejecting the sedation!"
"He’s restrained. Increase suppression!"
"I can’t! The dosage is already at the limit. If we go further, it’ll damage his heart!"
The squad leader swore. "Then don’t push it. Keep him quiet. We land in ten."
Yunfeng silently cried hearing this.
