Chapter 200 - 200: Rising Tension

"This is... really bad..."

Midoriya Izuku's escape from the Quirk prison wasn't just a slap in the face to the Japanese government—it also meant that the terrifying future Sir Nighteye had foreseen was now dangerously close to coming true.

At the Nighteye Agency, Togata Mirio was filled with guilt.

Sir Nighteye sat with a deep frown.

Meanwhile, All Might and Detective Tsukauchi were busy dealing with the furious government officials.

Letting Midoriya Izuku return to the League of Villains... was no small mistake.

In fact, they may have just unleashed the most dangerous force in the world.

"Mirio, now's not the time for self-blame."

Trying to pull himself together, Nighteye reassured Mirio, who was ready to take all the blame upon himself.

Then, he gave a direct order.

"Go back to U.A. High School. Shinso Hitoshi's betrayal caught me off guard. You need to share this intel with Principal Nezu."

"There's a chance... that there are others in U.A. willing to defect and support Midoriya Izuku. We can't afford to let our guard down." freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"...Got it."

Though Mirio was still filled with guilt, he could only follow Nighteye's orders.

After all, Midoriya Izuku had escaped right in front of him—more than once.

At this point, Mirio was starting to doubt himself.

"What do we do now...?"

Nighteye rubbed his temples, exhausted.

He could no longer afford to take the initiative.

The entire hero society was about to face the League of Villains' most terrifying counterattack.

Some celebrated, while others despaired.

Midoriya Izuku's prison break couldn't be kept a secret.

Among the general public, many of his supporters cheered.

But for government officials and criminal organizations, it was a nightmare.

The 'Steel Wire Death God' had returned.

The 'Broker'—a well-known figure in Japan's underworld—had built a career on helping criminals find work.

The first wave of villains who attacked U.A. High School, along with Dabi, Toga Himiko, and others, had all joined the League of Villains through him.

And today, the Broker's office had some unexpected guests.

Leading them was Shinso Hitoshi.

At his side stood Dabi, Stain, and the 'Magician.'

"Oh? So, the members of the 'League of Villains' have come to do business with me today? I'm afraid I can't take on any of your deals anymore. After all, the 'League of Villains' has made quite a few enemies lately."

Right from the start, the broker turned down Shinso and his group. The League's main goal now was to eliminate criminal enemies, which had put them at odds with just about every villain in Japan's underworld. Most were too afraid of their power to make a move, but if the broker continued working with them, he'd be finished in this line of work.

"Rejected, huh? Oh well..."

Shinso Hitoshi, having expected this, responded calmly.

"The result will be the same either way."

"Guards!"

Sensing trouble from Shinso's words, the broker shouted loudly. Immediately, two men burst through the door into the office.

"Someone causing trouble?!"

One was a towering, muscle-bound brute, while the other was a humanoid beast with the head of a tiger.

"Quick, take them out!"

"Got it, boss!"

At the broker's command, the two bodyguards lunged at Shinso and his group. They had handled troublemakers before, but this time, they were up against something far worse.

"Interesting."

Stain drew his blade from behind his back and charged forward. After all, Midoriya Izuku had given him one job—protect Shinso Hitoshi. In a situation like this, he had to take the lead.

The two powerful bodyguards rushed past Stain, but he effortlessly dodged their claws and fists. At the same time, blood sprayed from both of them.

The muscle-bound brute had a deep gash on his arm, while the tiger-headed man had a wound slashed across his shoulder. As the broker's personal guards, they were strong—but compared to Stain, the expert 'Hero Killer,' they were still far too inexperienced.

Stain licked the blood from his blade, and in an instant, both bodyguards froze like statues, unable to move.

Shinso Hitoshi simply stood there, staring coldly at the now terrified broker.

"Alright, now we can have a proper conversation."

About half an hour later, Shinso and his group stepped out of the broker's office. At that moment, the 'Magician' was tossing a small round ball in his hand.

"By the way, Dabi, why did you have me take this guy?"

The Magician continued tossing the ball while glancing at Dabi, clearly confused about why he had to take the muscle-bound brute that Stain had already taken down so easily.

"Well, since our two new recruits in the 'League of Villains' have shown off their skills, we can't just walk away empty-handed, can we?"

Dabi looked ahead at Shinso Hitoshi and Stain. They had done most of the work in this operation. As veterans of the League, he and the Magician couldn't just stand by and do nothing, right?

"This muscle-bound bodyguard's Quirk seems to be 'Regeneration.' The wounds Stain gave him healed almost instantly."

"So..." Dabi smirked at the Magician and said,

"I'm sure our leader will find a good use for his Quirk, don't you think?"

Meanwhile, at U.A. High School, Hatsume Mei felt relieved as she read the news about Midoriya Izuku successfully escaping from prison. To her, this was definitely great news.

"I was actually planning to use this for a jailbreak... but I guess I won't need it for now."

Hatsume Mei patted the sealed box beside her. Then, as if she had just thought of something, she went ahead and opened the outer casing of the box, revealing what was inside.

It was a silver metal sphere, about the size of a basketball. On its front was a digital timer, and at the very top was a red button, covered by a glass shield—probably for safety reasons.

"I remember Midoriya-chan telling me that pressing the red button activates it... Then, after a 60-second countdown, it detonates. But... why did he even make something like this?!"

Hatsume Mei scratched her head in frustration.

Midoriya had never fully explained this device to her before leaving for the League of Villains. Now, the genius inventor didn't dare to take it apart carelessly—one wrong move, and she might blow herself up.

And another thing... why did Midoriya even create this in the first place? It was a mystery.

Honestly, compared to being a hero... he really seemed more suited to being a scientist.

Hatsume Mei was absolutely sure of one thing—he was a mad scientist.
