Quirkless Hero-Chapter 206: “Black Box”
Chapter 206 - 206: “Black Box”
"What!?"
Togata Mirio stopped in his tracks, stunned.
The sealed box had suddenly appeared in Midoriya Izuku's hands.
Even though he wasn't sure what kind of Quirk had been used, he knew one thing—
He could not let Midoriya take that box and leave.
"This is our third real fight, isn't it?"
Midoriya tapped his temple, as if trying to remember.
Then, without warning, he tossed the sealed box high into the air.
The sudden move caught Togata Mirio completely off guard.
"Permeation" was a tricky Quirk.
Even for Midoriya, fighting Togata Mirio head-on was difficult.
His only real options were:
1. Using tools to contaminate the air, forcing Mirio out of his phased state.
2. Timing an attack for the split-second Mirio made contact with him.
But Midoriya had neither the tools nor the reaction speed to counter him directly.
Right now, though—
He had control of the situation.
As expected, Togata Mirio immediately changed course.
Pushing off the ground, he leaped into the air, aiming straight for the falling box.
Even though he knew Midoriya had done this on purpose—
Even though he knew it was a trap—
He had no choice.
That sealed box was far too important to let Midoriya take it. frёewebnoѵēl.com
No matter what, Togata Mirio could not let Midoriya Izuku leave with that box.
"Alright, let's begin."
Togata Mirio leaped into the air, reaching for the sealed box, while Midoriya Izuku turned his head to look at Takeyama Urei and Ochako. In a slightly apologetic tone, he said,
"You two should back away a little."
"Huh?"
Before the two girls could react, they felt steel wires wrap around their waists, yanking them away from the scene and sending them flying a great distance.
"Ahhh!!"
By the time Ochako and Takeyama Urei realized what had happened, they were already far away from Midoriya Izuku. They had no idea what just took place.
At the same time, as Togata Mirio soared through the air, about to grab the sealed box, it vanished in the blink of an eye. His eyes widened, and he immediately looked down to see Midoriya Izuku holding the box. A swarm of steel wires shot toward him, but they were useless—Togata Mirio's "Permeation" made him immune to physical attacks. Landing safely on the ground, he glared at Midoriya and demanded,
"You've got some kind of teleportation Quirk, don't you?"
"Good guess. So, what do you plan to do now?"
"I'm taking that box back, of course!"
Without hesitation, Togata Mirio lunged at Midoriya. But this time, Midoriya didn't try to juggle the box to play tricks—he simply jumped back, dodging Mirio's attack while keeping a firm grip on it.
Midoriya did indeed have a teleportation-type Quirk, but it wasn't like Kurogiri's, which could open long-distance portals at will. In fact, teleportation Quirks were extremely rare.
His Quirk, called "Black Box," allowed him to teleport objects no larger than half a cubic meter within a maximum range of one kilometer. However, it couldn't teleport people if they were too large.
The advantage of this Quirk was that it allowed for unlimited teleportation of small objects, with incredible speed and complete silence.
Midoriya had taken this Quirk from a notorious thief. While it didn't seem particularly powerful, it was perfect for his combat style.
For example, he had used it just now to silently transport the sealed box into his hands and to pull Ochako and Takeyama Urei away using steel wires.
He had tried to use the box as a distraction, hoping to make "Mirio" hesitate for a moment, but that little trick was useless against him. Now, with Togata Mirio going all out to take the box back, Midoriya had no choice but to fight seriously.
Midoriya had the box but wasn't leaving—why?
Togata Mirio knew that Midoriya wasn't the type to be overconfident or reckless. That meant there had to be a reason he was staying. Perhaps his teleportation Quirk wasn't like Kurogiri's, meaning he couldn't use it to escape.
If that was the case, Mirio didn't need to hold back. He was determined to take the item back, even if he couldn't capture Midoriya himself.
And so, the battle for the box began at U.A. High School.
"Damn it!!"
Mineta Minoru stormed out of the dorms, looking extremely frustrated.
And for good reason—today, students from Class 1-A and 1-B were forming teams for a random battle training exercise. Mineta, of course, had been drooling at the thought of teaming up with some of the girls.
Since the teams were made up of four people, and there were plenty of girls in Class 1-B, he had been convinced that this was his golden opportunity to get close to them.
But when the team assignments came out...
His teammates were Class Rep Iida Tenya, Sato Rikido, and Ojiro Mashirao.
Mineta was devastated.
"WHY?! Why am I stuck with you guys?! I wanted to be on a team with the girls!!"
"I arranged it that way," Iida said matter-of-factly. "As class rep, it's my responsibility to uphold proper behavior among our classmates."
Mineta's eyes filled with despair.
"Nooo! I just wanted to be with the girls! Why can't one just fall from the sky for me?!"
His voice was desperate, almost crazed—
Then suddenly, he heard a familiar voice.
"Mineta, look out above you!"
"Above me? Don't tell me—there's actually a girl—?!"
Mineta Minoru had just looked up at the sky when—before he could even finish his sentence—a sealed box came crashing down right onto his face. His face was practically flattened by the impact.
"Who the hell just ambushed me?!"
Pulling the box off his now-flattened face, Mineta, with a nosebleed dripping down, shouted in fury. Did he forget to check the calendar before going out today? Why was his luck so bad?
"Hand it over, now!"
Another voice rang out, and Mineta saw Togata Mirio charging straight toward him. Behind him was none other than Midoriya Izuku. That familiar voice from earlier had also come from Midoriya.
Mineta was completely dumbfounded. What was going on? Had he just been dragged into some kind of disaster?!
Midoriya Izuku was locked in a struggle with Togata Mirio over the sealed box. With his Permeation Quirk, Mirio was an incredibly tricky opponent to deal with in close combat. As they fought, moving around the area, Mirio was just about to snatch the box away—
But Midoriya's "Black Box" Quirk activated again.
The sealed box suddenly teleported into the air, conveniently landing onto a soft cushion below. Of course, Midoriya had kindly given a warning in advance. If Mineta didn't react in time, well... that wasn't Midoriya's problem.
