Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 38 I Have No Intention of Reminiscing with You Here
Chapter 38 - 38 I Have No Intention of Reminiscing with You Here
After hanging up the phone, Lily Turner turned around to look for Easton Holmes, but the moment she turned, she saw that he was no longer standing at the door as he had been. Assuming he went to the living room, she grabbed her purse and walked toward the living room, only to find it empty.
Where did that man go?
Lily frowned in confusion and turned to leave the living room. She thought Easton might have gone to the bathroom, so she planned to take advantage of his absence to fetch the house transfer documents from the drawer and cash them in.
"You, what are you doing here?" As soon as she walked into the room, Lily saw Easton sitting at the edge of the bed. She stopped in her tracks, stared at him for a moment, and quickly turned to leave.
"Don't you want to cash in the house?"
Easton's voice floated from behind, causing Lily to pause her steps. However, she didn't turn back into the room; instead, she stood at the doorway with her back to him, "I do, very much."
Keeping the house was meaningless to her. Money was much more valuable to her now than the house.
"If you do, then come in and talk to me."
Easton leaned back against the soft mattress, sitting at the edge of the bed, his deep eyes staring directly at the doorway where Lily stood. His stern face was calm, but his words stirred the air.
Lily didn't even turn her head, gritting her teeth as she spoke, "Mr. Holmes! I think you're mistaken. Although I want to cash in the house, I never intended to sell myself."
She had already been taken advantage of by him once; she wouldn't let it happen again. She needed money now, but she wouldn't earn it by selling her body.
She didn't before, doesn't now, and never will. If necessary, she'd leave the entertainment industry and return to school to pursue her passion for clinical medicine.
"Miss Turner! I think you're mistaken too. I asked you to come in just to discuss the house cash transaction, not to relive past encounters with you." Easton remained as calm as before, but there was a flicker of emotion in his eyes. Lily didn't notice his subtle reaction standing with her back to him.
The words "relive past encounters" sounded so harsh to Lily's ears. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, feeling an urge to lash out, but she could bet that if she turned around to curse him, this man wouldn't let her leave so easily.
"If you're sincerely willing to help me cash in this house, the things you sent last time are in the drawer of the bedside table. I believe with your ability, you shouldn't need me to accompany you to handle the procedures, right?" She hadn't even looked at those things, but she trusted he had already transferred the ownership. With his competence, it should be easy for him!
Easton leisurely sat up, his eyes serene as he looked at the woman standing at the doorway. "I genuinely want to help you, but it seems like you're not sincerely wanting my help."
This talk was such a twist of words, he almost got himself tangled in it.
"I'm not sincere?" Lily turned abruptly to look at Easton sitting on the bed, her clean face full of displeasure. She wanted to shout at the man, "It's always you making things difficult for me, okay?"
