Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 150: Her Motives, And Arriving In Sylvaran
"You're very shameless, you know that?" Rael asked. "You're like a mosquito that latches on and doesn't let go."
Karina simply shrugged, not saying a word.
Guess she wants my answer, huh?
"Theoretically." Rael cleared his throat. "Even if you could be my informant, what do you gain from this? Experience? You do know levels are meaningless if you're shit at what you do."
"I'm not a fighter, Rael," Karina replied. "I teach teens how to play the guitar. I couldn't care less about power... You might not know, but whenever you give out your quests, we get a bit of money too. Trell."
Rael nodded, and she continued. "I wish to start a music company on the outside, but it's very expensive."
"Naturally," Rael said. "You're going to need several million at least. I guess you can't get that much from being a music teacher."
"Not even close." Karina shook her head and narrowed her eyes. "But that quest last time... I got 1 million experience and 100,000 Trell from it. That's enough for me to move out of my trashy apartment and buy better musical gear."
Aha... that makes sense, Rael thought and tilted his head. "So all you want is money then."
"Mhm." Karina nodded. "I feel like me finding that... toy was fate. And if I follow you, I believe I can achieve my dream."
"Hmm..." Rael fell into thought.
It wasn't a very difficult thing for him to do, since he could practically dish out experience for free daily.
At the same time, he would get a literal live GPS.
And all he needed to do was add her to his friend list.
Sketa Online had an app, and those who downloaded that app would be able to remotely chat with their friends who were inside the game.
It should still work, but can I even send her a friend request...?
<Friend Request Sent!>
Rael's eyes widened. I can? What the fuck?
It seemed like Karina shared the same shock as she stared between the message and Rael.
And of course, she soon accepted.
<Friend Request Accepted! New Friend: Karina>
<Total Friends: 6>
"That solves one issue, I guess," Rael remarked.
"So are you accepting my proposal?" Karina asked expectantly.
Rael shrugged. "Since the map would be constantly updated, I want you to inform me of any big happenings. Daily. Can you do that?"
Karina nodded aggressively. "Yes, it's not a problem. I can even give you updates every hour if you want."
"Don't overdo it." Rael sighed. "Daily is fine. But contact me immediately if there's an emergency."
Sketa Online had an interactive map online which displayed pretty much everything happening in each region.
That was the main hook factor for Rael, since watching the map daily made the world feel alive—as if it was developing without the players' interference.
Which he came to find out was because the world was real, after all.
"Thank you so much..." Karina said, bringing her head down with a soft smile. "I knew buying this game was fate..."
"Don't use that fate shit with me, please. It makes it sound like you're a cultist," Rael said flatly.
Karina sighed. "Sorry... habit."
"Anyways, missy... you won't be able to withdraw money for a few more months, so unless you don't have something better to do, get out of the car. I got some work to do," Rael stated.
She scratched her cheek. "Well... the developers mentioned adding a cash-out system on the last day of the beta. It's because of that giant auction you hosted."
"Hmm... very well then," Rael said. "You can stay in the car, and when we arrive, don't expose my identity. Is that clear?"
Karina nodded, zipping her mouth shut.
Rael definitely didn't expect to get a traveling companion so soon. In fact, he thought of bringing Chop-E along, but it was busy training with the royal guards.
Nonetheless, Rael put those thoughts to the back of his mind as he began speeding through the forest, heading straight for Sylvaran.
Karina fidgeted, almost as if she had something to say.
"What is it?" Rael urged.
"I'm a bit curious about your origins, so can you—"
"No." He firmly denied. "We're not that close yet, so don't even try."
With that, silence once again loomed in the air as Rael put the car on autopilot and leaned back.
These past few days had been a little taxing. Frankly, he felt more relaxed in the Depths.
Despite that, Rael hummed a random lullaby to himself out of boredom. And finally, after two hours, he saw a distant outline of the city of Sylvaran.
It was medieval, just as he expected, since the Holy Kingdom was very old-fashioned.
However, it was also the kingdom he liked the least, and that was simply because of their religions.
They had five Gods they believed in—two evil, two good, and one neutral.
It was such a pain in the ass completing their questlines... but the items were damn good, Rael thought as he suddenly stopped the car around a kilometer away from the city.
He signaled for Karina to hop out of the car.

Filters... Rael facepalmed and bought the third option.
Immediately, a clean facemask appeared in his hands.
He was a bit creeped out that it felt so real to the touch, but...
Anyways...
Rael put the mask on over his head and neatly adjusted it.
The top of the head was shaved, and what remained of the hair was tied together in a topknot in the back.
Safe to say, he looked like the average eunuch young master.
Perfect... Rael nearly shed a tear as he glanced toward the puzzled Karina.
"While we're inside the city, call me Aster."
Karina nodded skeptically. "If that's what you want..."
Rael rolled his eyes and scratched his bald head before glancing toward the city of Sylvaran.
So that's where Reinhardt is, huh?
