Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 204: Plan, And Heading To The Big Fancy Floating Castle
Chapter 204: Plan, And Heading To The Big Fancy Floating Castle
[Rael’s POV]
“Achoo!” Rael sneezed, getting snot all over the black slime in front of him.
Of course, that slime was none other than Spirit King Burger.
[You fucking tramp! How dare you get your snot all over me!] Burger lashed out.
“My bad…” Rael scratched his cheek. “I think someone was talking behind my back.”
[Indeed! That would be me, you puny idiot!] Burger burst out laughing. [Thy dreams have been corrupted, so—]
“Oh, you fucker!” Rael’s eyes widened. “No wonder I had a nightmare earlier!”
[Hah.] Burger shook his floating slime body. [One day you shall learn what it means to mess with a Spirit King.]
With those words, Burger vanished from the real world and reappeared back inside Rael’s mind.
[So what now? Do you want me to deal with some more filthy humans?] Burger asked.
“No more feasting for now. I’ll be busy for a bit, so go to sleep or something,” Rael replied as he wiped the blood off his cheek and approached the door behind him.
This was the last noble he planned on killing for the day, and it was a mere Baron.
Like the rest, this guy dealt in some shady shit, including sex trafficking and slavery. Basically, him being gone would only affect the bad crowd.
And those were the same people he planned on culling once he came into power.
He opened the door and stepped out. There were a few maids walking around, puzzled.
He merely waved at them and left through the main door before entering an alley and stashing his face mask.
Rael also noticed a really interesting way these corrupt bastards dealt with money.
Instead of using the system like most, they used gold bars.
Apparently, system transactions are trackable through some sort of skill. I’ll have to get my hands on it later, Rael mused and sent a message to his bird in the sky.
Well… I did tell them I was coming the following day. Rael rolled his eyes.
The Sunken Temple was by far the weakest city in Aztera, but that wasn’t the reason he was attacking it.
Instead, it was simply because the Sunken Temple was the place where all the productiveness happened. Blacksmiths, tailors, artificers, alchemists.
And because of their reliance on the barbarian axe, they needed a lot of electricity to remain functioning.
If he had to estimate how much electricity was being funneled from the barbarian axe to the major cities, the difference would be enormous.
Veltharin: 32%.
Aurenveil: 16%.
And the Sunken Temple? A whopping 52%.
By taking over the Sunken Temple, Rael would monopolize their resources, and in the meantime…
I’d send my constructs to chip away at the Aztera soldiers’ armor, weapons, potion supplies. Eventually, they’d surrender willingly.
Unlike the video games he’d played in the past, killing the king didn’t make the army magically vanish. If anything, it only gave them a bigger reason to continue their march.
So, by hoarding the resources and making the soldiers realize continuing the war wasn’t worth the cost, Rael could eventually kill the king and take over.
It sounds so simple… Rael thought with a sigh. But it’s going to be a pain in the ass. Though my plans would greatly speed up if the Evangelists go cause some ruckus.
Nonetheless, he got some updates earlier on the escalating situation between Drivania, the Holy Kingdom, and Ogarak.
As it turned out, the barbarians of Ogarak were fighting amongst themselves. That meant Nyzzara either lost control or she was unifying all the tribes.
As for the Holy Kingdom and Drivania?
Rael tapped his interface, opening one of the messages he got earlier.
<Zareth’Null: Sanctis has been corrupted by the Evangelists as well. Temperia is next. As for their other destination? My best guess is they are planning a full-scale assault on Elarin. The succession is going to be difficult, but I’m sure you know one or two pure-blooded heirs who could easily usurp the throne and retain the public’s favor.>
He was talking about none other than Linlin and Qiqi.
Their mother was a concubine who slept with King Arthur, so naturally… they could. Rael sighed. I won’t force them, but I will bring the idea up to them. If anything, I can always resort to force.
But even as it seemed like his plans were going smoothly, he couldn’t shake the feeling that everything he was doing was leading to the same outcome he’d seen.
The most I can imagine is the Evangelists succeeding in opening the Ancient Portal, Rael grumbled. But even then, that doesn’t seem like something I can’t avoid.
“Fuck…” Rael sighed. Just how much more do I need to do to reverse that outcome?
With those thoughts lingering in his mind, Rael stretched his limbs and began sprinting toward one of the major cities in Aztera, Aurenveil.
He was currently in some small village just outside it, so he arrived after a few minutes of running.
The giant green and blue spires entered his sight, and this was considered one of the leading magic cities for a reason.
Floating magic towers, and even carriages that hovered in midair.
And yet…
Since they use so much magic, the amount of electricity they use is very limited, Rael pondered before putting on a random face mask.
The main reason why he came here was to have a talk with one of the Dukes in charge.
If possible, make the Duke turn over to his side.
After all, having a Duke on his side would come with too many benefits to count, including political leverage, money, money, a bit more money, and loyalty.
The soldiers that were gathered didn’t even bat an eye at his ugly appearance.
Therefore, without wasting any more time, Rael casually entered the city.
His destination?
The big fancy floating castle.
