Chapter 138: Chapter 138 Another Group of Villains (Second Update, See You Tomorrow)

In the end, Wan Chu’er was no match for Jiang Kechu, and he held her as she drank a glass of water.

Jiang Kechu looked at her anxiously and asked every two minutes, "How is it, feeling any better?"

Wan Chu’er tried to lift her arm, but it was still very strenuous, and she estimated that she wouldn’t be able to stand steady. The bathroom had a shower, and she certainly couldn’t lie down or sit to shower, could she?

"Not yet."

Jiang Kechu said again, "How about I help you wash? Don’t worry, I’ll make sure not to look inappropriately."

Wan Chu’er was infuriated, glaring at him, only to see Jiang Kechu’s face filled with concern, not betraying any other expression, extremely serious.

Seductress!

Wan Chu’er cursed in her heart, despite how noble his offer sounded, as if for her benefit, he surely had other ideas up his sleeve.

The places touched by Li Gang made her feel disgustingly nauseous. In the end Wan Chu’er said, "Uncle Jiang, please bring me a wet towel. I’ll wipe myself down first."

Then she distinctly saw disappointment on Jiang Kechu’s face, which made her heart wail again. How could this be?!

Jiang Kechu brought a wet towel, asking carefully, "Shall I remove the blanket from you?"

As soon as he came in, he noticed Wan Chu’er covered by a thin blanket. With his attentive mind, he guessed it was draped over her later for coverage, and when he held her to drink water earlier, he had held the blanket along with her.

He had not dared to mention this before for fear of reminding Wan Chu’er of her earlier terror.

Wan Chu’er didn’t think much of it and tried to lift the blanket. After struggling with it for a long time, breaking out in sweat, the blanket didn’t budge, so she frowned, "Uncle Jiang, help me lift it up."

Hearing Wan Chu’er say that and thinking she was fully clothed inside without any exposure, Jiang Kechu reached out and lifted the blanket.

Then his gaze unconsciously swept over her. Wan Chu’er’s clothes were indeed intact, but having been yanked by Li Gang earlier, her top was disheveled, revealing a large swath of her abdomen.

The smooth and white belly directly assailed Jiang Kechu’s eyes. His gaze darkened, but he maintained his composure and pulled her top down a bit, covering that area.

Wan Chu’er, holding the towel, wiped at her own neck. It was an effort. Despite her movements, it was like being tickled with feathers, completely lacking strength. How could she remove the clamminess on her neck?

Jiang Kechu took the towel, saying, "Let me wipe for you, where should I wipe?"

"The neck."

As the towel moved away, a red mark from strangulation appeared.

Jiang Kechu pointed to the mark and asked, "How did you get this strangulation mark?"

What strangulation mark?

Wan Chu’er was momentarily puzzled, but upon recollection, she exclaimed, "Oh," and explained, "I think it must’ve been from the clothes tightening." Remembering the incident, she gritted her teeth, "I want to beat Li Gang to a pulp!"

Jiang Kechu said, "Beating him would dirty your hands. Let me do it for you, I’ll make sure you feel avenged."

He carefully wiped Wan Chu’er’s neck, still unable to help asking, "Did he touch your neck?"

"Hmm, his filthy mouth was there, it was disgusting," Wan Chu’er said after a brief hesitation, her voice low.

Thinking about it was one thing, but hearing it was another. Jiang Kechu’s expression immediately worsened. He haphazardly wiped Wan Chu’er’s neck a couple more times, put down the towel, and said, "I’m going to step out for a moment, I’ll be right back."

"Oh." Wan Chu’er, not understanding, responded blankly.

Jiang Kechu managed to keep his cool in Wan Chu’er’s house, trying to act as normal as possible. But once the door closed behind him, his face twisted into a furious rage. He dashed down the stairs to find a person hidden in a corner.

Li Gang lay on the ground, lifeless, beside him stood a strong, young man.

Seeing Jiang Kechu storm over in anger, the young man quickly whispered, "Captain Jiang." Another man emerged from the darkness and also called out, "Captain Jiang."

Jiang Kechu nodded and asked, "What’s the situation?"

The first man pulled out a small transparent bag from his pocket, inside was a trace of white powder—it was what Zhang Chao had given to Li Gang earlier.

"It’s probably Flunitrazepam."

This is a chemical with strong hypnotic effects that causes dizziness and general weakness. Jiang Kechu, having had training in special forces, naturally knew of it. Upon hearing this, he clenched his fists so tightly that veins popped on his forearms.

Suddenly, with a pivot, he unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks on the slumped figure of Li Gang, aiming for his vulnerable spots. The two men watching were dumbstruck, as they had never seen Captain Jiang lose control and beat someone in such a manner.

After the beating, Jiang Kechu, with an icy expression, ordered the two men, "Throw him into jail, lock him up with the prisoners on death row."

He wanted this bastard to regret ever being born in this world!

He then straightened out his clothes, took a couple of deep breaths, and was about to turn around and go back upstairs.

Suddenly, one of the men whispering beside him said, "Captain Jiang, we have a situation."

Another man knocked the groaning Li Gang unconscious with a chop of his hand, and the three of them quickly concealed themselves in the darkness.

Listening closely, they heard the footsteps of three or four people. After a few seconds, they saw three sneaky figures appear around the corner.

With their peering and ducking, their demeanor screamed nothing good.

The hidden Jiang Kechu furrowed his brow. Could they be here to aid Li Gang?

"Big brother, is this the place? These security guards are really alert, we almost blew our cover just now," said a shorter figure in a low voice.

"Shut up! Focus on the mission, cut the crap," the tallest man among the three swiftly scanned the area and issued a stern reprimand.

"Got it, got it, big brother. It’s just a girl, the three of us can handle this easily," the same short figure said slickly.

Feeling his authority challenged, the tall man kicked the shorter one, emphasizing, "Be meticulous!"

The three figures quickly disappeared into the entrance of the building.

They were heading to the building where Wan Chu’er lived. In the cover of darkness, Jiang Kechu’s expression was obscured, his knuckles cracking with tension.

"Jia Yi, keep watch here. Chen Ke, come with me," he instructed.

First to move, Jiang Kechu’s figure darted out towards their destination.

Wan Chu’er lay in bed, pondering the evening’s events and speculating on where Jiang Kechu might have gone. As she thought, she felt increasingly drowsy, longed for sleep yet couldn’t succumb to it.

She wanted to pinch herself to stay awake, certain that Jiang Kechu would return soon, she couldn’t afford to fall asleep, but sadly she lacked the strength to pinch.

As she struggled against her dissipating consciousness, three sleazy figures came into view.

One of them seemed surprised, saying, "Big brother, this girl isn’t asleep—she’s quite the looker."

Then, abruptly, the three men collapsed onto the floor, and she saw Jiang Kechu’s aloof face once more, and after that, she finally succumbed to sleep.
