Rebirth Stockpiling: The Little Girl Sweeps Through the Apocalypse-Chapter 452
"Hey, shorty, minors can't drive!" Mu Yang shouted as he chased after her.
But the modified off-road vehicle roared away like a storm.
Mu Yang shook his head with a wry smile. "Out of all possibilities, I never expected she’d be the one driving this after the modifications."
Now it made sense—why there had been such odd customization requests.
The brakes, accelerator, and even the seats had all been raised significantly.
It wasn’t until Yun Xiaoxiao drove off that it clicked for him.
With those tiny arms and short legs, she wouldn’t have been able to reach anything otherwise.
"Yang, your phone."
An employee jogged over, holding a ringing device.
Mu Yang pulled off his grease-stained gloves before answering.
"Hey, Dad?"
"Dinner?"
"Yeah, what time?"
"Got it, I’ll head back once I’m done here."
"Probably another four or five hours."
"Alright, bye."
After hanging up, he slipped his gloves back on and walked over to a car suspended on a lift. Ducking underneath, he began working with practiced ease.
Five hours later.
"Hey, check it out—the moon looks weird!"
As the group stepped out of the garage, ready to roll down the shutters and call it a day, one of them pointed upward in surprise.
Everyone turned to look.
Hanging in the sky was a full moon, deep crimson, as if drenched in blood.
"Quick, check the trending hashtags! Someone said a blood moon signals the apocalypse!"
Another excitedly shoved his phone screen toward Mu Yang and the others.
"Pfft, you actually believe that? A blood moon’s just an astronomical phenomenon—it’s happened before. No big deal. Let’s go."
A younger guy waved it off and headed straight for his motorcycle.
"Whoa, in such a hurry—got a date with your girlfriend or something?"
The others teased.
The guy chuckled. "Busted."
"When are you introducing her to us?"
"Relax, I’ll bring her around once Yang here brings his."
Mu Yang exhaled in amusement. "How did this suddenly become about me? Alright, everyone, head home. Be here early tomorrow."
"Boss exploiting his workers again!" one of them groaned dramatically.
"You little—" Mu Yang shot back with a laugh.
The group dispersed with laughter, and Mu Yang shook his head before walking to his luxury car.
A press of the accelerator, and the vehicle surged forward.
Half an hour later, he pulled into an upscale villa complex in the city center.
After winding through the streets, he parked in front of a two-story villa.
Grabbing his keys, he stepped inside.
The house was brightly lit, the faint aroma of dinner lingering in the air.
"Mu Yang, you’re back!"
Ye Lingwei emerged from the living room, her meticulously made-up face breaking into a smile.
Mu Yang froze, surprised to see her.
His dad had called earlier, mentioning a casual family dinner.
He hadn’t said Ye Lingwei would be here.
Their parents were close friends, and the families had always gotten along.
But that connection was strictly between the older generation.
He and Ye Lingwei had rarely interacted.
Still, recently, his parents had dropped hints—Ye Lingwei had returned from abroad, both were at "that age," and wouldn’t it be nice if they got together?
It would only strengthen the bond between the families.
They’d even implied that Ye Lingwei had feelings for him.
He’d shut it down immediately.
Because of their families’ ties, they occasionally crossed paths at gatherings.
He had nothing against her—she was fine as a younger sister figure—but marriage? No.
Her personality just wasn’t compatible with what he wanted.
His ideal partner was someone he loved, who loved him back.
That was the only way to build a happy life together.
Rejecting this arrangement wasn’t just for his sake—it was for hers too.
If he didn’t love her, marrying her would only waste her time.
But now…
Taking in Ye Lingwei’s expectant smile and the sight of her parents chatting amiably with his in the living room, he realized his parents hadn’t listened to him at all.
This dinner had one obvious purpose.
Still, he was already here. Leaving immediately would be rude.
Even if he had no intention of marrying Ye Lingwei, her parents had watched him grow up. He couldn’t disrespect them like that.

He’d sit through this meal.
And he’d use the opportunity to make his stance clear—diplomatically, without damaging family ties.
"Yang, come bring Lingwei to the table," his mother called warmly.
"Coming," he replied, then gestured politely toward Ye Lingwei.
"After you."
His tone was courteous but carried a hint of detachment.
Ye Lingwei’s smile faltered for a split second before she recovered.
The two families settled around the large dining table, steaming dishes spread out before them. The parents chatted cheerfully, the atmosphere lively and warm.
"Mu Yang, when are you shutting down that car shop of yours?"
As they were eating, Mu Yang's father spoke up.
He carried an air of authority about him.
Mu Yang paused mid-motion while picking up food with his chopsticks.
His father continued, "Before, you said you wanted to pursue your interests, and I gave you time to do that. But you’re not a child anymore. It’s time you learned to manage the company. After all, everything will eventually fall on your shoulders.
While you’re still young and quick to learn, it’s better to take over sooner rather than later..."
"Dad!"
Mu Yang cut him off.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees.
After a moment of silence, Mu Yang sighed inwardly.
He gave in.
"Fine, I understand."
"Alright, alright, we can discuss this later. Come on, everyone, eat up."
Mu Yang’s mother quickly smoothed things over.
Though she respected her son’s passions,
hobbies weren’t the same as a livelihood.
Running an auto repair shop was exhausting and barely profitable. With such a large family business and him being their only son, it was only natural for him to inherit it.
As much as she hated to force him, there was no other way.
Originally, Mu Yang had planned to bring up the matter during dinner.
But neither set of parents mentioned it at all, leaving him with no opening to speak.
From their conversation, he learned that both families were planning a trip to the neighboring city the next day.
So tonight, the three members of the Ye family would be staying at their house.
He couldn’t very well kick them out.
If he couldn’t avoid it, he’d just have to hide.
After leaving a brief remark, he retreated to his room.
Once he changed clothes, he remembered he hadn’t fed his dog yet and headed toward the backyard.
But as he turned a corner, he overheard Ye Lingwei talking to her father.
"Dad, did you see how he acted? He didn’t even look at me! How am I supposed to keep throwing myself at someone who ignores me?" Ye Lingwei complained, her voice full of grievance.
