Reborn as a Transcendent-Chapter 651: Destructive Beam Of White Light!
Chapter 651: Destructive Beam Of White Light!
“Storm Emperor? You foreigners sure love tossing around ridiculous nicknames.”
Blinding white light burst forth as Mylene’s entire body was engulfed in crackling lightning. This was the power she had awakened—lightning, wild and unruly, nearly impossible for most to control.
More than Pete’s death, what truly stunned David was learning that Mylene was the infamous Storm Emperor.
The Storm Emperor—whose sudden rise had thrown the entire underworld into chaos—was just a girl who looked barely older than a middle school student!
Once the shock wore off, David composed himself and began to assess the situation with a clear head.
‘Hard to believe, but there’s no doubt—the girl in front of me really is the Storm Emperor. Like me, she’s a Transcendent with lightning abilities. Her power… it’s a bit stronger than mine. Pete only died because he let his guard down. His defenses were weak to begin with. If it were me, I’d take a hit, sure—but I’d walk away with little more than a scratch.'
With that thought, the tension in David’s chest eased ever so slightly. He believed that if he gave it his all, he might still be able to hold his ground against her. After all, they both wielded lightning—it would blunt their damage to each other. The real test would come down to raw skill and strength.
‘I’ve got nearly twenty years of combat under my belt—she’s had, what, three? Even if she’s got the edge in power, I can make up for it with experience!'
In an instant, David’s confidence came flooding back. He spread his arms and smirked. “I’ll show you what I’m really capable of!” The moment he finished speaking, a surge of blue light exploded from his body. His aura swelled, sending every loose object in the room flying.
Mylene didn’t bother to respond. Silently, she lifted her slender right arm and locked eyes with her target. Then, in the next instant, white lightning coiled and expanded in her palm, forming a massive sphere of raw power.
Even before she let it fly, the floor beneath her cracked and crumbled, exposing the steel reinforcements below from the sheer pressure of the energy.
David, who’d just moments ago regained his confidence, stood frozen in disbelief at the sight. He could feel it—that lightning ball pulsed with power ten times greater than anything he could conjure. Even with his exceptional resistance to lightning, taking that hit head-on would be a death sentence.
‘This is bad. Really bad. She’s a monster—an absolute freak!'
In that moment, David truly grasped the vast gulf between their power. It was the difference between earth and sky—utterly insurmountable. There was no defeating someone like this. Not for him.
‘I need to run!'
As a seasoned fighter, he knew full well—never turn your back on the enemy. But right now, survival came first, rules be damned.
He intended to leap from the room in a final bid to save his own life. Fortunately, the earlier barrage had completely obliterated the windows, leaving behind a gaping hole in the wall—just large enough for him to escape through.
He focused every ounce of his lightning energy into his legs, turning into a blur of thunder as he launched himself through the opening.
‘There’s dense forest below—I can use the canopy to mask my movements!'
A breath of relief escaped him as he glanced down and spotted the trees below. If he could just reach the forest floor, his escape would be guaranteed. But—
He had speed—but Mylene had more. The moment he launched himself into the air, Mylene gave a casual flick of her wrist. The lightning sphere hovering at her palm writhed and twisted with lethal intensity.
In an instant, a blinding bolt of white lightning tore through the air, unleashed without hesitation. The wall bore the brunt of the impact and was obliterated into ash, the explosion rumbling through the estate.
The same devastating bolt found its mark mid-air—slamming directly into David, the so-called Lightning Wolf.
David instinctively glanced back as a terrifying surge of power closed in from behind. His heart nearly stopped the moment he caught sight of it. In that split second, he clung to a desperate hope—that all of this was nothing but a bad dream. A nightmare he was convinced he’d wake from at any moment.
Unfortunately, it was the last dream he would ever have—before darkness swallowed him whole. The white lightning consumed him completely, erasing his body and soul as it continued to arc skyward.
The crack of thunder that followed echoed across a ten-mile radius, shaking the land to its core.
Back inside, Ronald exhaled in quiet relief as he surveyed the wrecked guest room, half of its wall reduced to rubble.
At just eighteen, Mylene was both a Grandmaster and an S-ranked Transcendent—her power was, without question, extraordinary.
‘The Tian family must be blessed by the heavens—to have produced an heir like her.'
His mind drifted to the past, to the day he defied heavy opposition and insisted on adopting Mylene from the orphanage in Roc City. Ronald stroked his barely-there beard, a smug smile creeping across his face.
A sudden gust of wind whooshed into the room, scattering the lingering dust in its wake. Mylene turned, brushing back her jet-black hair as she looked at Ronald. “Grandpa, were those people your enemies?”
Ronald blinked, caught off guard by the question. Truthfully, he wasn’t entirely sure himself. “Maybe. Maybe not.”
She rolled her eyes. “Come on, Grandpa. With how many enemies you’ve made, surely at least a few are dying to kill you.”
"There are enough to fill an ocean. Lucia and the Silver Wolf Tribe, the Dark Clown from the U.S., Strongest Fist from Japan, France's—"
"Stop!" Mylene cut him off before he could finish the list. "Grandpa, why don’t you return to Yanjing? It’s too dangerous here," Mylene said with concern.
Her grandfather had made no shortage of enemies in his younger days. Now that his strength was fading, he’d be in real danger if any of them came knocking while she wasn’t around.
‘I can’t be by his side every hour of the day. I still have missions to complete.'
"I know you're only asking because you're worried. Yanjing is the safest place for me, after all," Ronald said solemnly. "But I’m not going back."
"Why not?" Mylene asked, confused.
"Because if I return to Yanjing, I won’t be able to play the game," Ronald said with complete seriousness.
Saint Demon World operated on region-locked servers—players outside their designated area couldn’t even log in. If Ronald went back to Yanjing, that would be the end of his access to the game.
In other words, the very chance he'd found to recover his martial strength would vanish overnight.
"Huh?" Mylene blinked. Had she heard him right? If her hearing hadn’t failed her, did that mean… her grandfather was hopelessly addicted to gaming?
"Mylene, this game is more than it seems. There are secrets hidden deep within it—and I have to uncover them while I still can. That’s why I won’t go back to Yanjing," Ronald said with unwavering resolve.

Hearing the conviction in his voice, Mylene found herself at a loss for words. All she could do was sigh in resignation.
Meanwhile, in the City of Chaos—
"You… Stay away from me!" all three Veras cried out in unison. Terror filled their faces as they staggered backward, bodies trembling with fear.
Opposite them, Yaeger walked forward in deliberate, graceful steps. But the mass of translucent tentacles drifting behind her completely shattered any sense of elegance.
"Heheheh. Tonight… let me show you some love~," cooed the beautiful demon.
