Chapter 84: You Bitch!

"You Bitch!"

The rundown house reeked of dust and mildew, its boarded windows trapping the morning’s gray light, casting jagged shadows across the bare floor.

Freya’s blue eyes burned with fury, her body coiled like a spring as she charged toward the tied-up woman, her fist raised, ready to strike.

The black-haired woman, naked and gagged, her face bruised but defiant, strained against the ropes, her dark eyes widening with panic as Freya closed in.

Kael moved fast, grabbing Freya’s arm and pinning her against the peeling wall, his strength firm but controlled, his chest pressing against her back.

"Leave me, Kael! I’ll kill that bitch!" Freya yelled, her voice raw and loud, her muscles flexing as she fought to break free, her hair whipping across her face.

The bound woman’s muffled grunts grew frantic, her body wiggling desperately, the ropes biting into her skin.

Her eyes flicked to Freya, recognition sparking fear—she knew what Freya was capable of and the anger she carried because of her betrayal.

She tried to shift, her muscles tensing as if to summon her bear form, but the collar around her neck hummed faintly, its tech suppressing her powers, leaving her trapped in her human skin.

Still, she thrashed, driven by the faint hope of escape, knowing Freya’s rage could end her right here and now.

"Freya! Freya! Calm down." Kael gripped her tighter and firm. Then he leaned in.

"Listen to me first, Freya," Kael whispered, his lips brushing her ear, his voice low, steady, his Empathetic Resonance buzzing softly.

The power dulled her anger, her rage, muting her other senses, her eyes blurred, amplifying her hearing so his words cut through the haze of her fury.

"I promise, she’s all yours."

Freya’s breathing hitched, her body still taut, but she stilled, his voice anchoring her.

Kael’s hands stayed on her arms, grounding her as he spoke, his tone catchy, painting a picture.

"She’s a villain, just like you were. She’s killed innocents—men, women, children—for profit, for power, sometimes just to prove she could. She fears no one, bows to no one, lives for chaos. She’s cunning, ruthless, a queen of her own world, untouchable... or so she thinks."

His words were a mirror, reflecting Freya’s past self—the icy queen who’d ruled with pride, who’d nearly killed him once, who’d lived for control. "Look at her, Freya. See her. Closely... Do you see her?"

Freya’s eyes flicked to the woman, her jaw tightening, she blinked, she saw someone else for a second, the resemblance striking—a shadow of her villainous self, bound and helpless, yet still defiant.

Kael’s voice dropped lower, a challenge. "Do you still really want to kill her, Freya?"

Freya nodded, her blue eyes cold, unyielding.

"Yes," she said, her voice a hiss, her anger a living thing.

Kael’s grin was subtle, approving. "Nice. But could you take her out if I untied her? A fair fight, one-on-one, no tricks?"

Freya nodded again, her lips curling into a fierce smile. "Please," she said, her voice low, eager, her gaze locked on the woman. "Let me."

Kael’s hand slid to her shoulder, his touch steadying her.

"Good. But remember, Freya—she could kill you too. If it comes to that, I’ll step in, save you at the last moment. But if I do, she wins, and I let her go free. Fair’s fair."

Freya’s eyes flashed, her voice sharp, defiant. "Thanks Kael, but it won’t come to that. No matter what, I’ll kill that bitch, right here." Her words were a vow, her body radiating heat, her anger barely contained.

Kael leaned closer, his whisper intimate, a promise laced with temptation.

"If you win, Freya, I’ll give you anything you want. Anything. Even freedom." The word hung heavy, a spark to her ambition, her desire to prove herself.

Freya nodded, her blue eyes glinting with determination, her breath steadying as she absorbed his offer.

Kael stepped back, his voice firm. "I’m letting you go now. Don’t move until I untie her. Got it?"

She took a deep breath, her hands flexing, her anger simmering but controlled, the heat of her rage radiating through her clothes.

Kael felt it, behind him, a piercing glare, a pulse of raw energy, as he moved toward the bound woman.

Freya stood by the doorway, her eyes locked on her enemy, the woman who’d crossed her, betrayed her months ago—left her for dead in an alley, bleeding, broken, forcing Freya to claw her way back alone.

The memory fueled her, her fists clenching, her heart pounding.

She had been hunting her for revenge since that day, and finally today, she had got another chance, and she won’t lose it.

Kael’s mind churned as he approached the woman.

He had two ways with her.

One, he could rehab her, but Freya wouldn’t like it, and villains like her, who were cunning, were very tough to rehab; with the tensions between Freya and her, it would only be more difficult.

Or second, he could use her as an investment to fuel the growth of Freya.

He mirrored Freya’s villain self into her, so now, it would be like Freya fighting her villain self, which will carve her a new path to be a hero, hopefully.

The second path felt right—a crucible for Freya, a chance to confront her past and choose a new future, just as Rhea had.

But it was a gamble; Freya’s rage could consume her, or the bear-woman’s cunning could outmatch her. Either way, the Haven’s future hung in the balance.

Kael crouched before the woman, his hazel eyes meeting her dark ones. "You heard what I said, right?" he asked, his voice low, authoritative. She nodded, her gag muffling a grunt, her eyes flicking nervously to Freya, whose presence loomed like a storm.

Both women were A-class villains, their strength matched, their collars ensuring a fight of pure skill and will.

Kael untied the gag, the cloth falling away, and the woman’s first words spat out like venom.

"I see you made it out alive again, Ice Queen. You just proved that it’s hard to kill a cockroach.," she sneered, her voice hoarse but defiant, her dark eyes gleaming with a twisted smile, goading Freya.

Freya’s lips twitched, a retort burning on her tongue, but she glanced at Kael, his warning look silencing her.

She held her ground, her glare icy, unwavering, her body poised by the doorway.

Kael worked the ropes, loosening them, and the woman stood, naked, stretching with a predator’s grace, her toned muscles rippling under bruised skin. Her short black hair framed a sharp, unyielding face, her confidence unshaken despite her captivity.

She noted the collars—hers and Freya’s, humming faintly, keeping their powers locked—and Kael’s bare neck, a reminder not to try anything foolish like choking him or attacking him from behind.

"You promise to let me go if I win, right?" the woman asked Kael, her voice steady, her smile cocky, her eyes flicking to Freya, taunting her further.

Kael nodded, stepping back to Freya’s side, his expression unreadable.

"Fair fight. Winner walks." He stood by Freya, his hand brushing her arm, grounding her as the two women faced off, their glares a clash of fire and ice.

The naked woman’s smile was a taunt, her stance relaxed, predatory, while Freya’s face was a mask of cold fury, her body poised, ready to strike.
