"Maybe I should have come with an army," Kael said as he and Chloe walked through the wild plains side by side.

Since they had begun traveling inland, they had encountered a lot of hostiles, most of whom were squids and octopuses.

These creatures were unsurprisingly able to traverse the land in their true forms, using their tentacles like legs. They didn’t have the disadvantage most other aquatic creatures had.

Even their newly awakened could walk on land, albeit very slowly and inefficiently.

This also meant that the octopuses and squids were able to cover more ground. If this went on, they would eventually find something.

For Kael, he found them extremely annoying, especially with how they attacked him for no reason, as though he was about to steal something from them…

Well, he indeed wanted to steal something but it didn’t belong to them anyway.

"It couldn’t be helped, even if you wanted to bring them, how would you have done it? It’s not like you had a magic shuttle to an Arkship to carry all of them," Chloe said to Kael.

Both of them didn’t bother to fly in this dimension as not only was it dangerous but they had to reduce their energy expenditure. They had to have enough energy for any type of fight that came their way.

"What is an Arkship?" Kael asked, unable to hide his curiosity.

"Oh," Chloe turned to look at Kael’s golden-furred head, "An Arkship is like a magic shuttle in the sense that it’s meant for flight-based transportation.

The difference is that magic shuttles are used to carry a certain amount of creatures and most of them are specialized for certain things.

There are combat shuttles, cargo shuttles, mining shuttles, cruise shuttles, and many more that are built for specific purposes.

Xu Ying’s magic shuttle is a mix between a combat shuttle and a cruise shuttle. It’s a hybrid model designed to last long far from home.

But compared to an Arkship, magic shuttles are nothing.

Arkships are almost the pinnacle of lion technology, almost. Arkships are like mobile worlds.

No, in fact, they ARE mobile worlds. They have everything, yet no specialization whatsoever, so they can adapt and reach to any environment they may find themselves in.

All arkships are large, most are larger than this world’s moon, far larger actually. Although they tend to have different designs and aesthetics based on the owners, they generally have the same functions."

Kael blinked, he realized that he was really far behind if he hoped to move the lions.

"Function?" Kael asked, intentionally trying to make her talk more. It was kind of boring walking in silence anyway, it was better to have a conversation with her and learn at the same time.

"Yeah," Chloe said, oblivious to Kael’s thoughts, "Arkships are usually used to move the forces under the lion clans.

While being driven by lions, an arkship would have sections dedicated to different races and some sections that were shared by all races on board.

Most of all, arkships are used to house magic shuttles. Can you imagine that, the size? A lot of arkships serve as parking grounds for hundreds of magic shuttles.

The bigger arkships can carry thousands of magic shuttles. Imagine that kind of thing traveling through the universe, it’s terrifying, even for me.

If an arkship had come to this world instead of Xu Ying’s arkship, the result would be absolute, no matter the obstacle.

This world doesn’t even have a standard city, talk less of a civilization with the resources to defend itself from an arkship.

Not only would this world face the descent of an unknown amount of magic shuttles, but it would also receive the bombardment of multiple stupidly powerful cannons from the arkship.

They might even just commit genocide outrightly, that’s something the lions do more often than you would think.

And we’ve not even talked about the army of subjugated creatures that would come down to fight for their lion masters.

From the moment the arkship arrives, the lion within would not need to step out of the vessel. Everything would be controlled from the arkship and they would definitely win."

Kael shuddered all of a sudden and the golden fur on his body tingled as it stood in end. This caused him to be puffy and cute all of a sudden.

This was a reaction to the intense fear he felt. It wasn’t that he wanted to be scared, it was that Chloe was saying the truth that frightened him.

From the constant feedback he was getting from his spirit sense, he could faintly tell that Chloe was not even exaggerating, she was stating the truth as it was.

When she said that the arkship would guarantee success, it was with a deep level of certainty.

"You know, in heaven, there’s this joke that goes around once in a while. It is said that once an arkship is sent to conquer a world, that world is considered conquered even before the arkship reaches its destination.

Most of us can’t even begin to imagine the power needed to fight back against an arkship and win. It’s not impossible, it’s just very unlikely." Chloe added.

She observed Kael and his ruffled fur and couldn’t help but smirk. Maybe he was finally understanding the extent of the lion’s powers.

"Then why didn’t an arkship come?" Kael asked as he calmed his heart. His fur returned to its normal smooth and rested state.

"It’s the same reason the lion kings couldn’t come themselves, too many restrictions.

Only things of a certain power level can enter the unstable portal that was opened. And arkships have a lot of power stored within them even though they are not actually sentient.

Even our warp gates were not able to lock onto the location, talk less of an arkship’s personal warp travel engine."

"So, arkships are like another symbol of the kings?" Kael asked. He looked up to see that the ’sun’ was setting behind them, casting a warm orange glow over the land of this pocket dimension.

Chloe shook her head, "Gosh no, the arkships are merely tools, not symbols. They’re simply tools to assist in our efforts to conquer the known universe.

Besides, the kings would just stay back in heaven if they knew that an arkship was involved in any matter. Their presence would just be overkill.

Most arkships are piloted by Lion Princes, most times more than one.

However, if it was a case that involved something important, something like the Heavenly Beacon, then a lion king will very likely be in an arkship to ensure success."

Her words sank deep into Kael’s mind and made him think deeply about what he wanted to do.

"It seems our lion race has advanced very far in the technological aspects, you mention warp gates like it’s a normal thing for you," Kael said. He had shamelessly said ’our lion race’ as though he wasn’t planning on locking heads with them.

The memories he gets from the Primordial Lion inheritance are limited in their own way. The highest level of technology he had seen in those memories were magic shuttles.

Chloe let out an audible chuckle at Kael’s obvious change of words but she did not say anything about it.

"Yes, we can’t possibly be doing everything personally. So apart from learning the art of managing our vassals, we also paid attention to our technology.

The magus lions and lionesses helped greatly in this aspect. Everything from paw guards, artificial organs and limbs, arkships, warp gates, and many more have been created with the help of the magus lions.

You can say that the magus lions are the brains of the lion race. Well, the spirit lions are smart too but they’re too emotional to stay focused or make logical decisions.

Unfortunately, the power in the whole civilization is so decentralized that there is constant infighting among alliances.

No central form of power, no one to keep the lion kings in check or make sure that balance remains.

If not for the conflict, I feel like we may have been able to make more advancements.

The lack of order is also what led us to have little knowledge of the war between Lions and Dragons millions of years ago.

All we know is that Noel The Great sacrificed himself to deal a severe blow to the dragons. The cause of the war, the process, and the names of many important figures, all lost to time.

It’s as if no one bothered to document the happenings of that time, they were all busy chasing after the heavenly beacons of the fallen lion kings."

When Chloe said these things, there was a look of helplessness in her eyes. The kings knew the flaws of their civilization but none of them were willing to fix it.

They were lions, after all, trying to fix it is no different than trying to conquer the lion race itself.

Kael immediately thought of something, a sentence Noel had mentioned multiple times in his memories.

"The mistakes of my predecessors…" He muttered.

"What?" Chloe asked.

"It’s nothing," Kael shook his head, pushing the thought to the back of his head for now, "So what type of vassals does our lion race interact with, or do you guys have favorites?"

Kael stylishly changed the topic.

Chloe smiled, this was a topic she actually liked talking about, "We do have favorites, and that will be the rats…"

As the two conversed with each other while walking, the sun finally set and the night blanketed over the pocket dimension.
