Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 202: Aziza
"WELCOME TO THE ABODE OF AZIZA, THE LAST SON OF NOEL!"
Those words resounded in the ears of Chloe and Kael, causing them to pause in shock.
Kael's body shrank as the Conqueror Mode was deactivated. His face remained in shock though and he stared at where he was in amazement.
"Last son of Noel?" Kael repeated, mouthing the words.
Chloe's head snapped to Kael, her eyes widening. Hearing Noel's name was surprising but hearing Kael talk was also very amusing.
"Wait, you can talk? With your mouth?" Chloe asked, using her mouth to talk.
Kael nodded, he knew a bit about the lion language because of the memories he inherited from the previous Primordial Lions.
It wasn't perfect but it was enough for him to know basic things.
"Why haven't you been talking to me with it? I can speak the language too you know," Chloe said.
In response, Kael simply gave her a cold glance. Chloe was quick to understand that her tone had been too casual.
Kael didn't know when but at some point, he reacted to certain tones that people talked to him with. Perhaps it was because he was used to being the king in the forest and the respectful way they talked to him, but he no longer liked it when others talked to him too casually.
A certain attitude toward losing friends but Kael did not have any friends in the first place.
"It's hard," He finally said. The lion language was too hard and taxing to speak. If he started talking like that now, it would take some time for him to get used to it.
Chloe smiled wryly, she could confirm that the lion language was indeed very hard to speak. The lions had a somewhat locked jaw that couldn't be moved side to side unless they had very good control of their jaws.
Because of this, the lion language involved a lot of tongue movements and vocal cord training. More complex words may involve forcefully moving the lower jaws side to side which can be quite painful for novice speakers.
This also caused the lions to have a weird exotic accent.
The lion language was very different from any of the languages from Earth but for reference, it could be likened to speaking German with a strong Jamaican accent.
"Anyways," Kael spoke, this time with his telepathy, "It seems this place is related to the last Primordial Lion, Noel."
"Yes, last son of Noel, Aziza," Chloe said, "That's a bold claim,"
They looked around at where they were. A wide hallway with black marble tiles as the floor, grey concrete for the walls, and a bright red ceiling.
From how wide the hallway was, Kael wondered what would have happened if they had entered from another place.
Were there hallways everywhere spread around the surface of the pyramid? If so, that was an architectural wonder on its own.
"Why?" Kael asked as he and Chloe began walking through the hallway. Above, the hallway was lined with blue glass orbs attached to the red ceiling.
Kael could not tell what the ceiling was made of. Concrete? Wood? Stone? It was hard to tell by just looking alone.
"What what?" Chloe asked.
"Why is it a bold claim? That voice called the owner of the pyramid the last son of Aziza. How is that a bold claim?" Kael asked.
"Oh," Chloe blinked, "Well, a lot of lion kings have very long lifespans, and they tend to have a lot of children in that period. Even Noel The Great is said to have gathered a lot of cubs before his demise.
For someone to claim to be the last child of any king, it meant he or she was confident that the lion king wouldn't have any children, or they were the last child the lion king had before he died.
So for the case of this Aziza, it probably means he was the last son of Noel."
The black marble tiles created clicking sounds as their claws struck the surface. The black marble floor was clear of any scratches, clear of any blemish to its beauty.
"Were there other Lion Kings named Noel since the original Noel The Great?" Kael asked.
Chloe shook her head, "I don't think so, anytime we hear the name, Noel, we instantly think of the eight Primordial Lions."
"Hmm,"
The two continued walking until they eventually arrived at the end of the hallway which led to an open area about a hundred meters wide.
This place had the same aesthetics as the hallway except that the ceiling was higher.
The hall was circular and the light gems on the ceiling formed a spiral pattern that was reflected off the shiny black marble floor.
Another thing about this hall was that the walls had doorways that led to different places. Kael was looking around, wondering which doorway they would have to choose.
"AH, THE TIME HAS COME," That same voice they had heard before suddenly resounded again. It spoke the lion language.
Kael and Chloe paused, listening.
"Despite my Father's greatness, he still fell, losing his life because of that abomination.
Sometimes, I find myself hating the lion race as much as I hate the dragons. If not for them, my father would still be alive.
My dear father, oh, you have suffered…"
Kael's heart beat wildly as something within him rose with grievance and unwillingness.
He felt tears well up at the corners of his eyes and his breathing became hoarse. His claws pressed the floor and it would have broken the marble's surface if not that it was very hard.
Noel's memories were reacting, it was happening again.
The voice continued, "How many brothers and sisters did I lose in that war? I don't even want to remember.
Happy thoughts only, hehehe.
However, now that my father, Noel, is dead. A new Primordial Lion would have to be born in the later future.
I was there that day when he did it, my father forcefully took control over the strings of fate and the river of time. The laws of the universe shook in protest but Noel was defiant.
Although it was for a short moment, it allowed me to glimpse a bit into just how powerful he was. It also makes me wonder how powerful that abomination had been to cause him to go down in self-sacrifice.
A pity.
But on that day, he constructed a series of fortune layers to ensure that the next Primordial Lion would be born on this planet.
This planet, the one he had once gifted me for its diverse ecosystem, was now the stage for the Primordial Lion to rise.
But preparations had to be made, if not, he or she would die early like the third nameless Primordial Lion.
So I was tasked with preparing for his or her birth.
Father had his reasons for planning in secret, the lion kings couldn't be trusted to preserve these things until the next Primordial Lion arrived.
After all, even he had been antagonized by many lion kings just for existing.
Perhaps, that is why he suffered so much, he was ruthless to others but way too merciful to the lions. And they took advantage of that, he should have just bathed in their blood from the start…"
Chloe could hear from the voice, the anger being suppressed, whoever was talking was making a lot of effort not to throw a tantrum.
"But I digress, my consort was the one to escort me to this place. As a chimera, I was able to use my powers of fortune and Magic to build and plan.
My consort helped with the spatial distortions, but it wouldn't last, my magic can only do so much to make it last.
Eventually, I would die here, I'm in my last days already, I know. By the time you hear this, I will have long passed away.
A pity.
The formations I have placed around this planet won't last forever. Sooner or later there will be cracks, and the signal for the Heavenly Beacon will leak out and alert the other lion kings.
But my heavenly beacon is not that important compared to what my father gave me to keep for the Primordial Lion.
I have confidence that the Primordial Lion will find this place, what I'm not confident in is if others would covet what he or she deserves.
If you are listening to this and you aren't the Primordial Lion, be warned, I have prepared death for those who may try to take what isn't theirs.
But knowing Lions, my warning is as effective as the breeze. If you stand on the side of the Primordial Lion, fret not, he or she knows what needs to be done for the good of the whole lion race.
If you stand against him or her, I have nothing to say to you.
And as for the Primordial Lion, if you find yourself here, then you should know where you need to go from now on.
I would ask that you don't disappoint my father and me, but dead lions can't be disappointed, hehehe…"
Aziza's voice was melancholic as if he was sad about the inevitability of time and age.
"That will be all, hopefully, with what is left of Father, you will be able to prepare yourself for a fight, because that is how things are to be done.
You will fight, Primordial Lion, you will have to drink blood, you will have to bite and claw your way to the top, that is how it is done.
The lion kings won't accept you without you having sufficient power by your side. Build your force, do not hesitate to kill those lions who betray you, a mistake Noel made.
To become the King Of Kings, you will have to put in every effort. It's either that or death.
I apologize for the fate you have been forced to bear.
This is Aziza, the last surviving son of Noel, and the
Lion King of the Tonari Clan.
For The Conquering!"
