Chapter 942: Disharmony

After reading the messages, Xu Feng was starting to get a headache.

There were two main points that Xu Feng derived from Evelyn’s message.

One was that the rules were set against people like him from the start.

The second was that she had enough power and authority to exempt him from receiving such unfair rules.

However, he didn’t bother to reply because that would just cause him to be alienated completely.

The representatives from each guild had finished announcing the rules. Most were general and obvious, but the unfair rules specifically targeted those recruited from the external force had clearly caused some commotion.

“Why weren’t we told about such rules from the start when you recruited us?” One player complained in a displeased tone.

“Yeah, why must we receive reduced contributions and even have our right of distribution loot reneged?” Another player chimed in.

With people taking the initiative, the collective external force recruited players all began to raise their complaints.

Carmen was also tempted to join in and blast these unfair rules but was promptly halted by Xu Feng.

“Guild Leader?”

Confused, Carmen stared at him with a disbelief look. Her eyes were clearly saying that she couldn’t believe he would accept such unfair rules.

In response, Xu Feng shook his head and whispered softly. “Do you think complaining here would make any difference? You’ll only be suppressed by the collective guilds.”

The representatives weren’t stupid or foolish enough to declare the rules now.

They had done it on purpose because their numbers were clearly superior to the recruited players from external forces.

Although the guild players might not be united completely, they were definitely united on the same stance regarding the external forces.

“Then why did those guilds even bother to recruit us in the first place?” Carmen frowned and couldn’t comprehend the action behind it.

If they were that keen on hoarding everything, then why bother recruiting external forces in the first place?

“Do you think they didn’t want to hoard everything?” Xu Feng chuckled and explained how there were multiple spies. Information was going to be leaked sooner or later.

Since that was the case, then they might as well drag along some other players from different guilds to be in the same muddy water. Many external factor players were from first-rate guilds and could be considered elites.

In that essence, even if there were some that were displeased, they wouldn’t dare to make a commotion. Otherwise, it would be fighting multiple first-rate guilds.

The cons would far outweigh the pros, so they would naturally suppress their anger and only remember this grudge.

That was about it.

Realization quickly dawned upon Carmen. No wonder they were also invited to join such a trial.

“This Floral Witch is a good schemer.” She gnashed her teeth. Her perspective of Floral Witch had fallen to the negative value.

How dare she scheme against them!

“There’s no need to be angry.” Contrary to her surprise, Xu Feng held an amused expression.

“Guild Leader?” She raised an eyebrow and looked at him in surprise. “You already knew this would happen, so why do we still agree?”

“Because they underestimated this trial. And the more overbearing they act, the easier it is for me to make allies.”

“Hiss…” Carmen drew in an air of cold breath as she realized her Guild Leader was even more scheming than these Super Guilds.

Sometime later, the external force players were quickly divided by the representatives.

“Listen, you all signed the contract, so if you want to renege. That’s absolutely fine, but are you prepared to face the consequences?” Midnight Crane smirked and asked coldly.

“Your appearance in the trial is already known to many, so even if you want to leave. I doubt you’ll be fine from those who couldn’t get in.” He added.

“Hmph, you Super Guilds people sure know how to scheme.” A player clenched his fist and snorted.

Midnight Crane spread his arms in response. “Could you really blame me? If you weren’t greedy as well, then how could I scheme against you, Lazy Horizon Robin?”

Robin’s eyes narrowed coldly. He was a Guild Captain for the first-rate guild Lazy Horizon. And because of Midnight Crane’s sugary words, he agreed to join the trial.

Who could have anticipated Midnight Crane to be such a bastard and ensure not only would he not get any benefit, but he would also be dragged into the muddy water?

“I’m sure you didn’t inform your Lazy Horizon’s Guild Commander or Guild Leader. Want to know what happens if I spill the beans to them? I wonder if you can even remain in the guild by then.” Midnight Crane snickered coldly.

After Midnight Crane’s threat, most of the complainers’ faces twitched as they turned pale.

It was clear that they had secretly joined without informing their guild.

Midnight Crane only gave them a glance before sneering as he looked at the remaining external force players. Xu Feng and Carmen were included in this batch.

“You didn’t complain, so I also wouldn’t be rude to you either. Let’s just remain in harmony and tackle the trial together. It’s not like you wouldn’t get any benefit, right?” Midnight Crane said calmly.

He knew the threat he used earlier wouldn’t be effective for them. After all, not everyone was greedy and arrogant like the previous batch who tried to hoard the secret for themselves.

Hence, the batch who didn’t complain were those who had informed their respective guilds.

When the group remained silent, Midnight Crane was pleased and nodded. If possible, he also didn’t want to have much disharmony in the trial.

However, he still needed to establish who was the boss and leader of the trial.

Nevertheless, this action of his had already soured most of the external force players. This was especially true when it was toward the specific guild who recruited them.

Amidst the situation, Azalea also came to the Floral Branch and apologized.

“I hope everyone didn’t get offended by Midnight Crane’s words. He simply wanted to ensure the trial was smooth sailing and that no one would be thinking of sabotaging.”
