As the commander's assistant was overwhelmed with sadness, concluding that the commander was dead, his thoughts drifted toward Seiya.

What about him? Did they also get him or did he peacefully sleep through all this?

His head snapped toward the door to the chambers, his legs leaving the floor and heading straight for it. As he reached out to push open the door, he caught the sound of the commander's faint breathing.

His head snapped back toward the commander, seeing his stiff head bobble softly as he awoke from his sleep.

"C-commander," he whispered, eyes widening as relief flooded him. What he thought wasn't at all the truth; the commander wasn't dead.

He slipped his hand off the door, rushing to the commander's side.

"Commander, you're alive," he said, relief and joy evident in his tone. Overwhelmed by the situation, he paced back and forth in front of the commander, too distraught to know what to do.

"Healing. Treatment. You need to be treated. I should take you," he said, unsure of the right thing to really do.

Only a moment ago had his heart sank, thinking the commander was gone. And now, the commander was breathing in front of him—though barely, he was still breathing.

As if this wasn't the first time the commander was seeing his assistant so distraught, he almost rolled his eyes out of exasperation but his condition gave no room for that.

"Get me a healer," the commander seethed through gritted teeth, a bit annoyed, enduring the stinging pain that shit through his entire body.

"Yes, yes! Right away sir." The assistant bowed, turned swiftly and ran out.

As the commander waited for his assistant to return with a healer, his eyes drifted toward the door to his chambers—lingering on it.

I really slept through, he thought to himself, eyes glued to the door. Very peacefully at that.

His chest slowly rose and fell with each shallow breath, his body stiff in place, trying to minimize his movements to not further agitate his wounds.

I hope I didn't make any noise though, he thought, trying to remember how the night went.

His assistant, however, returned, cutting short the commander's thinking time. Along with him came the healer: A mature looking man with dark brown hair, clad in casual clothes. His face appeared a bit drowsy, seeming to have just been awoken and dragged over.

Seeing the surroundings, the carnage and the commander's state, the healer was taken aback.

"Get to work!" The assistant urged, not giving the man time to even digest the scene before him. The man rushed forward, bowing briefly to the commander before going on his knees beside him.

The man extended his hand over the commander's pale, injured form, and a soft green glow enveloped the commander. The glow coated his entire form for a while, the man's hand extended and resting just above.

After a while, the man retracted his hands, dissipating the glow along with him. The commander's injuries all healed to perfection, every pain fading away. If not for his tattered clothes and all the bloodstains, there would be nothing testifying to the gruesome fate he had to endure.

"Thank you," the commander said as he moved to rise. His assistant immediately snapped forward, lending him a helping hand.

The healer bowed once again, rising to his feet. After the assistant helped the commander sit up with his back resting lightly against the wall, he turned to the healer.

"Thank you, you may leave now," he said. "Keep in mind that not a word of this should get outside," he added just before the man could turn and leave.

Nodding at the assistant, the man once again bowed to the commander before taking his leave.

"Are you alright now?" The assistant asked.

"I am," the commander breathed out, exhaling in relief. All the pain and ache had him stressed.

The assistant himself also heaved a sigh of relief, thankful that the commander hadn't left them like he thought.

Relieved, his thoughts drifted back to Seiya, his head turning toward the door.

Does this mean he had indeed slept through the chaos? He didn't care to get help for the commander while it happened nor did he get him help this morning. How cruel can he be? The assistant thought, his spite toward Seiya deepening.

He rose from his squatting position beside the commander, storming toward the door to the chambers to confirm for himself whether his suspicions were correct.

But as he got to the door and attempted to push it open, the commander's voice sounded through.

"Leave him be," he said, well aware of his assistant's spite toward Seiya and what he had intended to do.

The assistant turned back to the commander, his brows wrinkling in confusion.

"How can he sleep so peacefully when you almost died?!" He asked, evidently angered—his spite toward Seiya augmenting his ire.

"Don't be so noisy," the commander chided, rubbing his forehead. He had just been pulled out of death's door and a loud voice isn't what he would really entertain at the moment. Moreover, he couldn't afford to get on Seiya's bad side—not when he isn't fully aware of Seiya's true capabilities.

"I apologize," the assistant said, seeing the commander stressed.

"Just leave him be. He's just a child, let him rest."

The commander slowly rose to his feet, his stiff body making dull cracking noises.

"Get some people to clean up this mess and repair the damages," he said.

"Yes, sir. But before that, you need help with your bath and getting ready. Or have you finally decided to rest and ease the toll on your body?" he asked, sarcasm lacing his tone.

The commander exhaled with an exasperated expression. He would've really liked to rest for the day and not do any work — just sleep in. But he couldn't bring himself to do so, knowing there was someone capable of wreaking disaster upon them—Seiya.

"I'll help myself today. Just do what I have asked."

"As you wish." The assistant bowed, leaving without looking back.

The commander sighed once more, his eyes shifting toward the door. He needed a bath and for him to do that, he had to go into his chambers. But he was quite skeptical, afraid he might wake Seiya up.

He was yet to understand what Seiya meant by their heartbeats being annoying, and how he hadn't slept a wink since he got here.

As the commander's mind computed things within him, a thought struck him still on his spot.

Are Zero's words about Seiya possibly being the trigger to Beni's relapse true, after all? Was he indeed the one who killed the girl—their Humanity Savior?
