Seizing Destiny From Heavens Hands-Chapter 441: The Great Demon Council — Authority of the Great Demons
Chapter 441: The Great Demon Council — Authority of the Great Demons
Demon Suppression Sea, eighth layer, First Demon Palace.
The lords of the Demon Palaces had gathered within this oldest of halls.
Inside the dimly lit main hall stood a massive round stone table.
Surrounding the table were ten colossal stone chairs.
But not all were occupied—only a few figures were present.
“An Cang summoned us here. Where is he himself?” A cold voice rang out.
The palace's dark-purple crystal dome projected the figure who spoke.
He stood over five zhang tall.
His upper body resembled a human, but his lower half was like the tentacles of an octopus.
Each tentacle was thick and powerful, capable of unleashing immense force with a mere flick—flattening mountains, halting rivers.
He was the Third Great Demon, An Mie, whose authority was “Brutal Force.”
The Sixth Great Demon, An Chen, gave a light chuckle. “No need to be so impatient. An Cang is always late. His head consumes a great deal of demonic energy, so it takes him quite some time to awaken.”
An Mie snorted, his massive tentacles swaying. “An Chen, I heard you recently suffered a humiliating defeat and even lost An Feng in the process.”
An Chen still smiled calmly. “Bad intelligence. I didn’t expect the Xuanwu Fortress to have developed such powerful weaponry.”
Suddenly, a figure who had been sitting silently with eyes closed spoke.
“Oh? Weaponry? I thought the war machines of the ten Demon Suppression Fortresses were already long out of repair. How did they come up with stronger weapons?”
His form resembled a massive shark, but he had eight pairs of limbs growing from his abdomen.
He was the Fourth Great Demon, An Zhou, whose authority was “Curses.”
Long ago, the ten Demon Suppression Fortresses had housed many skilled artisans.
But An Zhou had long realized the strategic value of weaponry and infiltrated the fortresses multiple times, assassinating many craftsmen through remote curses.
This caused a generational gap in craftsmanship—leaving the fortresses unable to repair more complex or large-scale weaponry.
As time passed, with no maintenance, the war machines inevitably fell into disuse.
An Chen then described the situation with the Flame Floodcloud Warship.
An Zhou’s eye twitched. “That’s a threat. Whoever created it should be eliminated as soon as possible.”
“An Chen, if you give me those two flesh mines on the seventh layer, I’ll have my subordinates avenge you.”
Flesh mines—
These strange mineral veins were only found below the fifth layer of the Demon Suppression Sea.
The deeper one went, the richer and more potent the veins.
No one knew where they came from. They simply appeared, without any warning.
Over time, the demon race grew accustomed to it.
They never bothered to search for them deliberately.
The Red Flesh and Purple Flesh extracted from the veins were potent tonics for the demon race.
Of the two, Purple Flesh was far superior.
Thus, the number of flesh mines a Great Demon controlled became one of the standards by which their strength was judged.
Hearing this, An Chen smiled.
“An Zhou, you sure dream big.”
“Those two newly discovered mines of mine are vast, and there’s a large quantity of Purple Flesh. How could I possibly hand them over so easily?”
An Zhou wasn’t angered. “No rush. Let’s discuss after this meeting—I’m sure I can offer something satisfactory.”
An Chen smiled faintly and nodded without answering.
In a corner, another voice spoke up. “Where are Ninth and Tenth? Why haven’t they shown up?”
An Chen looked toward a particular stone chair.
Though it appeared empty, atop it rested a tiny grain of purple-black rice.
That grain was actually the Seventh Great Demon, An Wei. Though his body was minuscule, it was unimaginably dense and indestructible. His authority was “Stealth.”
His offspring and descendants also possessed extremely small bodies.
They could easily pass through the tiniest of gaps and infiltrate the bodies of the Demon Suppression Guards—natural-born assassination machines.
An Chen’s gaze shifted slightly.
The Ninth and Tenth Great Demons had been missing for a long time.
Many of their subordinates had chosen to defect, pledging allegiance to other Great Demons instead.
Even An Chen didn’t know what those two were up to.
The Third Great Demon, An Mie, spoke casually, “The plan is already seventy to eighty percent complete. No harm in telling you now.”
“Ninth and Tenth are preparing to resurrect the right arm of the Great Demon Emperor.”
An Chen, An Zhou, and An Wei all showed subtle changes in expression, their faces revealing joy.
“It can be resurrected?”
“Where is the Great Demon Emperor’s right arm?”
“If we can harness the power of the right arm, we might be able to break through the Demon Suppression Fortresses and escape the Demon Suppression Sea!”
An Mie grinned. “I don’t know the exact location. The plan is being led by An Cang—I only played a partial role.”
An Wei spoke with displeasure, “Why didn’t An Cang inform us? The Great Demon Emperor is the source of our power, like a father to us all. We deserve to know.”
An Mie chuckled. “Once the right arm of the Great Demon Emperor is revived, even a single drop of its flowing blood can dramatically enhance a Great Demon’s cultivation.”
“You think there’ll be enough blood to share?”
“Would it be better to have one more mouth at the table, or one less?”
An Wei fell silent.
But a killing intent began to stir in the air.
An Chen’s mind turned.
The “Great Demon Emperor” they spoke of was the very one the Demon Suppression Guards referred to as the “Undying Demon Emperor.”

All ten Great Demons were at the Demon Emperor Realm, equivalent to the Dharma Aspect Realm of the Demon Suppression Guards.
The Undying Demon Emperor was a title. As their collective “father,” his cultivation was at the Great Demon Emperor Realm, far above the Dharma Aspect Realm.
However, since the dawn of the demon race, the Undying Demon Emperor had always remained in a state of death.
His blood was stagnant and devoid of life.
An Cang, the oldest and wisest of the ten Great Demons, had tried countless ways to resurrect the Undying Demon Emperor, but none had succeeded.
“I thought he’d given up.”
“Didn’t expect he’d change his method—choosing instead to resurrect just a part of the Undying Demon Emperor’s body.”
An Chen sighed in admiration.
Just then, a ghostly voice echoed through the air.
“An Mie, you’re spouting nonsense again.”
“Once the right arm of the Great Demon Emperor is resurrected, I will ensure the blood is distributed equally among all.”
“We, the ten Great Demons, share one father. We are brothers and sisters.”
An Chen, An Mie, An Wei, and An Zhou all turned their gazes.
They saw An Cang slowly appear, floating in with his oversized head and long trailing tail.
Hearing An Cang’s words, both An Wei and An Zhou calmed down slightly.
“An Cang, you finally show up. I was starting to get impatient,” An Mie said casually.
An Cang ignored him. “The reason I’ve gathered you all is to discuss several important matters.”
“First—Old Five has fallen. But his position must not remain vacant, and the authority of ‘Filth Mist’ he controlled cannot be left unattended.”
“Old Seven, your territory is closest to his. Make arrangements for a competition among Old Five’s offspring.”
“Whoever wins will inherit the title of Fifth Great Demon. When the time comes, we’ll bring him to the ninth layer, where he shall officially ascend as the Fifth Great Demon under the watchful gaze of our Father’s corpse.”
All the demons nodded.
Whenever a Great Demon fell in the past, this was the method used to determine the successor.
The authority held by the ten Great Demons had never gone unclaimed for a single day.
“Second—we must now move to resurrect the Father Demon’s left and right legs.”
An Cang continued, “The left leg—I’ve already handed that to Second and Eighth.”
“As for the right leg—who among you is willing to take it on?”
