Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Special Training (Extra for Alliance Leader PureRedApple) (Fourth Update)
At this moment, Mia walked towards Su Ming, and when she arrived in front of him and the others, she casually waved her hand.
"Let’s go!"
"Oh yeah!"
Zhang Yi and the others yelled excitedly.
Mia, seeing the smiling faces of the students, also revealed a radiant smile and led Su Ming and the rest into the arena.
The vast arena was still empty.
With a snap of her fingers, platform after platform raised, and twenty different models of First Generation Mechas appeared before everyone.
However, Mia didn’t let everyone go up immediately; instead, she lifted her bracelet and started operating it.
Buzz buzz~
Immediately, everyone’s phones began to vibrate.
Rhein and the others picked up their phones to check and all received a video from Teacher Mia.
The videos Mia sent were tailored for different models, but Su Ming did not receive one.
Although Su Ming was a bit puzzled, he did not ask Mia.
Then, Mia spoke to the crowd.
"Each of you pick a training machine that you’re good at and follow my video to practice in turn. Everyone better take this seriously—if anyone doesn’t train well, wait and see how I deal with you!"
"Alright!"
Rhein and the others excitedly headed towards the Mechas.
Su Ming glanced around and was about to walk towards a nearby Iron Knight when Mia suddenly called out to him.
"Su Ming!"
"Teacher, what’s the matter?"
"You don’t need to go; First Generation isn’t of much use for your training. Come with me!"
Mia said briefly to Su Ming and then took him to the other side of the arena.
"Okay."
Su Ming did not ask any further questions and silently followed Mia.
Rhein and the others saw Su Ming being taken away and whispered among themselves.
"The class leader was called away by the teacher?"
"What’s going on?"
"I’m not sure, let’s focus on our training for now, and we can ask the class leader later."
...
On the other side, Mia led Su Ming to another side of the arena where there was an inconspicuous resting room.
She brought Su Ming into the resting room and found an unnoticeable staircase leading downward.
Su Ming followed beside Mia, growing more and more curious: where was she taking him?
At that moment, Mia chatted with Su Ming, smiling cheerfully.
"Su Ming, I’ve noticed your Gun Skill is pretty good. Which family do you belong to?"
Su Ming was slightly stunned and then replied truthfully.
"Teacher, I’m from the Su Family, or, in other words, the Thunder Interstellar Heavy Industry Group."
Mia’s expression faltered slightly upon hearing Su Ming’s words, and she began to ponder carefully.
She had heard of the Su Family; they were a moderately influential clan, and the current Clan Leader, Su Zhen Tian, also had some renown.
But she had never heard of anyone from the Su Family who excelled at Gun Skill, let alone using it so well.
Within the entire Federation, there were very few families known for their Gun Skill, and she was very clear on each one—there was no mention of the Su Family.
The most important point was that Su Ming’s Gun Skill felt very familiar to her, as if she had seen it somewhere before. She couldn’t recall where, though, so Mia continued to ask cheerfully.
"Su Ming, then who did you study under? Who taught you Gun Skill?"
"I’m self-taught."
Su Ming hadn’t anticipated that Mia would ask this and hesitated before replying.
"Forget it, if you don’t want to say, I won’t ask."
Mia didn’t believe for a second that Su Ming was self-taught; that level of Gun Skill was impeccable, even she almost stumbled because of it.
Su Ming just smiled wryly, but didn’t try to explain either, because he didn’t know how to.
Soon, Mia took Su Ming down the stairs into an underground room.
The underground room was empty, with nothing inside except for a tightly closed metal door.
"Let’s go!"
Mia stepped forward, pushed open the metal door, and walked in.
Su Ming followed Mia into the darkness, where he could not see his own hand before his face.
Then Mia snapped her fingers.
One by one, the sensor lights came to life, illuminating a massive underground arena before Su Ming’s eyes.
This underground arena appeared even more advanced than the one above, with the floor comprised entirely of mechanical tiles.
"What is this?"
Su Ming asked in astonishment.
"The Imperial Court Academy’s underground arena is specially designed for fights to the death."
"Fights to the death? Is that allowed?"
"It’s an unfortunate necessity. Some conflicts cannot be resolved, but they cannot be ignored either."
Mia explained with a sigh.
"I see."
Su Ming nodded in understanding.
"Anyway, let’s not talk about that anymore. Starting today, your training will be here."
Mia adjusted her mood and spoke to Su Ming with a serious demeanor.
"Alright, what mecha will I use?"
Su Ming looked around, but did not see any mechas.
Mia smiled, snapped her fingers again, and a loud click echoed through the space.
The center of the underground arena split open, and a mechanical platform rose up.
On the mechanical platform stood a seventeen-meter-tall mecha, its body covered in green metallic armor, a beam cannon embedded in its shoulder, a pair of flexible mechanical wings on its back, and it held two ten-meter-long beam sabers.
"Third Generation Machine·Green Wing!"
Su Ming exclaimed in amazement.
"Correct, you will use this for training!"
"Teacher, is this really appropriate? This is a Third Generation mecha, after all."
"What’s inappropriate about it? Consider it a privilege for being the class leader. However, when you become stronger, you’ll need to take care of your classmates more."
Mia spoke candidly and straightforwardly to Su Ming.
"Understood!"
Su Ming replied gravely.
"By the way, have you ever operated a Third Generation Mecha before?"
Mia inquired, looking at Su Ming.
"Only during the city exam, in a virtual world."
Su Ming answered truthfully.
"A virtual pod, no matter how realistic it is, it’s still different from reality. Get up there and familiarize yourself with the mecha."
Mia instructed Su Ming.
"But, teacher, I’m not very skilled with saber-type weapons. Could I switch to a spear instead?"
Su Ming pondered for a moment before asking.
"Your gun skill is very good; I can’t teach you much there. Also, I would not recommend that you switch weapon training."
"Why not?"
"Indeed, everyone has a weapon they are adept at using. But if one wishes to become a top expert, it’s crucial not to be limited to only one type of weapon. Even if you can’t master them all, you need to be proficient with each. This is very important because when you go into battle, the battlefield has too many uncertainties; the enemy won’t care what weapon you favor. Familiarizing yourself with all weapons not only solidifies your foundation but also allows you to understand the strengths and weaknesses of any weapon your enemy may wield, enabling you to respond more effectively."
Mia educated Su Ming with utmost seriousness.
Of course, while Mia said this out loud, she secretly thought,
"I can’t exactly tell him that we don’t have any Third Generation machines with spears, right?"
"Teacher, you’re right."
Su Ming replied earnestly.
"In summary, remember this; there is no success that comes without effort in this world. Therefore, do not always focus on the results of others’ success; that will never lead to your own. What you really need to focus on is the effort others put in and the details of their success. Details are the key to determining the outcome of everything."
"I understand, teacher."
Su Ming responded, fully in agreement.
