She Asks for a Divorce Again-Chapter 205 - Who Is He
Chapter 205: Chapter 205 Who Is He
Chapter 205: Chapter 205 Who Is He
“Who the hell are you?” the man asked instead of answering.
Han Manyin was extremely nervous. She let go of Shen Jiangli’s hand and kept retreating backward.
Realizing her extreme fear, Shen Jiangli found it strange, but no matter what, this was his woman. Even if his emotions weren’t that deep, he still had the duty to protect her.
So, he took Han Manyin’s hand and said to her gently, “Don’t be afraid.”
The man, seeing their intimacy, realized something and sneered, “So he’s your new sugar daddy, huh?”
His words were clearly directed at Han Manyin.
Han Manyin bit her lower lip hard, looking at Shen Jiangli in terror and daring not to say a word.
As a man, Shen Jiangli could naturally infer the meaning behind those words.
The stranger in front of him was Han Manyin’s previous sugar daddy.
Shen Jiangli wasn’t some feudal relic. Besides, he had been educated in the West. He gave the man a cold glance and said, “Since she’s just your past, a man like you who clings desperately to an ex for money is really lacking in class.”
“You still have no right to know who I am,” he warned, “but I advise you to get lost quickly. Otherwise, don’t blame me for not being polite.”
Hearing this, the man, evidently hit where it hurt, immediately broke down. He raised his fist, intending to throw a punch their way.
Shen Jiangli was quick and pulled Han Manyin into his arms to protect her, then struck back fiercely at the man.
His punch landed on the man’s chest. The man stumbled backwards in pain, letting out a howl.
The man’s face turned pale as he fell to the ground.
Shen Jiangli said coldly, “Who do you think you are? How dare you lay a hand on me?”
“You’re going too far! I’m going to call the cops!” the man said, furious, “Do you know the woman you’re protecting is a scammer? She’s been with who knows how many men…”
Upon hearing this, Shen Jiangli let go of Han Manyin and took a couple of steps toward the man. He squinted, glancing at the man’s hand on the ground.
Without any mercy, he stepped down hard.
The man let out another painful scream, sharp and grating, like the squeal of a pig being killed.
Shen Jiangli felt it still wasn’t enough and ground his foot down harder.
Everyone heard the crack of breaking bones and the man’s screams, one shriller than the next. They all felt a chill run down their spine, wincing in sympathy.
Their commotion was so loud that it attracted a lot of attention from the people nearby.
Even Shen Heyu, not far away, turned her head to look.
Seeing that she was curious, Pei Yansi stopped and set her down on the ground.

Shen Heyu stood outside the private room, not entering, her gaze fixed on the side now in the throes of the commotion.
The arrival of that man had turned Han Manyin’s face deathly pale, her body trembling slightly, her panic obvious for all to see.
For some reason, seeing her like this, Shen Heyu was reminded of herself in the past.
The noise from the other side continued, but she had already lost the desire to watch. If it were about sympathizing and helping, she wasn’t needed. After all, Shen Jiangli was over there.
She stepped forward and entered the private room.
Pei Yansi didn’t understand why she had suddenly lost interest, but he followed closely behind her.
The people inside the private room all shifted aside the moment they saw Pei Yansi approaching.
One of the men stood up, nodding and bowing as he said, “Isn’t this President Pei? I wouldn’t have expected President Pei would attend such a modest gathering like ours.”
Pei Yansi smiled faintly, a smile that never quite reached his eyes. Only when he looked at Shen Heyu did a hint of warmth enter his gaze.
He took Shen Heyu’s hand, intending for her to sit next to him.
Heyu was by his side, but her mind seemed to be elsewhere. She kept her head lowered, looking utterly uninterested.
From Pei Yansi’s angle, her profile appeared particularly desolate.
Pei Yansi immediately noticed her off mood, scooted even closer to her, and signaled the noisily chattering people around them to shut up.
The private room fell silent in an instant, and even the music seemed to have been turned off by somebody without them noticing.
A person beside them joked, “President Pei, this is the first time you’ve brought a lady companion, isn’t it? Why not introduce her to us?”
Upon hearing these words, the disinterested Heyu finally raised her head, glancing at Pei Yansi by her side.
She frowned and warned him with her eyes not to blurt out some nonsense introduction.
But Pei Yansi seemed oblivious to her plea. His amused gaze fixed on her; the more she feared their relationship being exposed, the more he wanted to declare to the world that she was his woman.
“This is my wife.”
He said plainly, dismissing any notion of her being merely a companion or a girlfriend, explicitly stating her status as his wife.
At these words, the already quiet room became even more silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone exchanged looks of disbelief, unable to comprehend the truth of his statement.
It was well known that Pei Yansi had no women by his side, and the only rumors of romance had emerged not too long before. How had a wife suddenly appeared out of nowhere?
Their curious gazes swiftly turned to Shen Heyu.
Heyu couldn’t bear their stares and turned to look coldly at Pei Yansi, about to say something when the door to the private room was pushed open from the outside.
She looked up to see Shen Jiangli and Han Manyin entering.
Han Manyin looked pale, her eyes red, her hair somewhat disheveled; she was the picture of a mess.
Heyu had never seen her in such a state before.
Feeling Heyu’s gaze upon her, Han Manyin lifted her head, and their eyes clashed across the room. Heyu could distinctly feel the hatred bursting from Han Manyin’s stare.
Heyu slightly furrowed her brows, wondering why she should be subjected to such a look; after all, the person asking Han Manyin for money wasn’t her.
But Heyu had neither the time nor the inclination to argue with people of such mediocrity. She ignored them completely and detachedly shifted her gaze away.
Seeing her reaction, Han Manyin also averted her eyes and took a seat next to Shen Jiangli.
Once they were seated, the man who had earlier teased Pei Yansi moved closer, gossiping, “President Shen, the lady you’ve brought today isn’t also your wife, is she?”
Shen Jiangli glanced at him coolly, “What do you mean by ‘also’?”
The man said, “Well, President Pei’s companion turned out to be his wife, right? I just thought that you…”
He did not finish his sentence, sensing the shift in Shen Jiangli’s mood.
Shen Jiangli’s face darkened visibly, and he stared silently at Pei Yansi, his eyes filled with indescribable hostility, “President Pei might want to be careful, after all, force-ripened melons aren’t sweet. Sooner or later, this melon might just run away.”
Pei Yansi chuckled coldly, “I thought with your sweetheart in your arms, you would have given up on my wife by now?”
