Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 718 - 717: Bloodline of Sin
As Corey healed his injury with a calm expression, he observed the nine-foot giant who was gazing at him with his soul-freezing dark blue eyes.
He recalled the incident of what had happened when he tried to kill Triple X in one move, and the more he went through what happened, the more he frowned.
When he was attacking Triple X, he was ready for a counterattack from either Triple X or the nine-foot giant.
Just like he expected and simulated numerous times in his mind, the nine-foot giant defended his axe swing with his bronze shield, and the moment he blocked it, something he never expected happened.
He entered a stunned state for a fraction of a second and his body also became sluggish in that same moment.
This brief delay was something Corey did not calculate in his simulations, and because of that, he could not react to the attack of the nine-foot giant on time, making him to suffer a rather serious injury.
Corey glanced at his chest for a moment because the rate at which the injury was healing was not as fast as usual. He saw a black shadowy energy trying to drill deeper and deeper into his body, but his Dream Healing was able to combat the strange energy and prevent it from damaging his body further.
Corey observed the energy with curiousity because it was a completely new type of energy and what he had analyzed from the energy was surprising.
"Damn it, kid. Answer me. Are you okay?" novelbuddy.cσ๓
Corey glanced at Divine nodded, "Sure."
"I’ve experienced your healing skill before and I know it’s amazing, but to think that it can heal your injuries and neutralize infernus... You truly are full of mysteries."
Corey furrowed his brows in confusion when he heard the word, ’Infernus’, from Triple X.
"Infernus is basically infernal energy that demons use. It’s like mana but for demons."
Corey raised his brows in surprise and curiousity, and then he decided to ask a question instead of continuing his attack on Triple X.
"What are demons? And what are their abilities?"
As a denizen of New Earth, Corey had heard about demons, and after arriving in the Underworld and not seeing anything about demons, he assumed that they were just creatures of myths and a person’s imagination.
However, seeing Triple X’s new appearance and hearing the words of Divine and Triple X, he knew that demons were not just creatures of myths or a person’s imagination, they were real creatures and he needed to know their abilities if he was going to kill Triple X.
"Demons are beings from a place called The Infernal Realm."
Divine said solemnly and Corey furrowed his brows slightly. He had been expecting to hear that they were from Hell since that was what he knew as a denizen of New Earth, however, Infernal Realm?
He had never heard of it before.
"Demons use an energy called Infernus, and unlike mana, Infernus is extremely dangerous."
"A demon is usually born under one of the seven deadly sins, and whatever sin they’re born into, whether it’s the Sin of Wrath, Sin of Greed, Sin of Pride, Sin of Gluttony, Sin of Sloth, Sin of Envy, or Sin of Lust, determines the abilities they’ll get."
"Every demon has an ability that’s related to their bloodline of sin, and knowing what bloodline of sin a demon has is very important in fighting a demon."
"Apart from their bloodline of sin, demons generally have very powerful regenerative abilities and depending on the rank of the demon’s bloodline, the regenerative ability of the demon could be so absurd to the point that they would even be able to regrow their head if it’s cut off or regrow their body even if they only have a finger left."
"They also have a very powerful physique and their aura also corrupts their surroundings based on the bloodline they have."
Corey’s eyes glowed with countless thoughts, questions, simulations, hypothesis, and ideas as he listened to Divine’s words.
The word- Bloodline of Sin especially, brought forth numerous questions in Corey’s mind and he could not help but relate Demons and Paragons together because they both had a certain connection if Divine’s words were right.
Sin.
Corey furrowed his brows slightly as he pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind. He exhaled softly and Divine gave him a glance.
"It’ll be better if you’re able to figure out what bloodline of sin he gained after making a contract with the demon."
Corey gazed at Triple X for a few seconds, and then he spoke.
"When I attacked him, I was stunned and my body and flow of energy became sluggish for a moment."
Divine frowned when he heard this and his expression became more solemn, "That means he most likely has the Bloodline of Sloth in him and the demon he contracted with is a demon of Sloth."
"I don’t know abilities he has, but be careful. Because I’m still injured, I won’t be able to help you fight him... Can you handle him?"
Corey rotated his right arm with a small smile as his gaze remained fixed on Triple X.
"Of course I can handle him."
"You’re sure? He’s as strong as a mid-level Tier 6 and that death knight of his is also as strong as a mid-level Tier 6."
Divine asked with concern etched in his voice, and Corey looked at him with a grin.
"I said I can handle him, Divine. Just take Rosa with you, hide, and protect yourself and her."
Corey gestured at Rosa who he had dropped from the moment Triple X walked out of the wooden door.
After using Dream Healing non-stop on her, her injuries were fully healed and she was now breathing comfortably. The only thing that remained was for her to wake up.
Divine glanced at Rosa, and then he glanced at Corey for a few seconds before nodding.
"Don’t die."
"I already said I won’t."
Divine smiled, and then he carried Rosa and ran to a far and secluded part of the underground area, a location which he calculated would be safe from the battle between Corey and two beings that were comparable to Tier 6.
