Son in Law's Debauchery-Chapter 75
Chapter 75 - 75
"Mom, you're the best!" Yao Xin flirtatiously smiled, hugging her mother's arm and pouting.
The younger tiger, with the support of the older tiger, was incredibly happy. Seeing their discontent, it was clear they had argued late into the night.
"Mom, let's go downstairs for breakfast," Yao Nan said.
"Where's Nan?" Shen Ruyu asked.
"Still sleeping. She had the day off, so let her sleep in. She worked all day yesterday," Yao Xin replied.
Shen Ruyu blushed slightly, remembering how her daughter had passed out from exhaustion after their intense session the night before, and then had to get up early for work.
Yao Xin looked confused. "Nan usually goes to bed early and wakes up early. It's rare for her to sleep in."
Shen Ruyu was also curious, as she hadn't heard much noise from upstairs the night before.
Xu Bin smiled, "Well, it's rare for her to sleep in, so let's let her rest."
Yao Xin joked, "You're hinting that my mom and I are lazy, and if Nan doesn't get up, there won't be anyone to cook breakfast, right?"
"I didn't mean that. I'll go buy something if you want," Xu Bin replied.
They joked around as they went downstairs. Shen Ruyu gave him the number for the local junk collector and then left for the tea house. Xu Bin and Yao Xin contacted a local cleaning service.
"Let's eat first, and then we can pack something for Nan to eat later," Yao Xin suggested.
The living room was stuffy despite the fan, and Yao Xin watched Xu Bin busy in the kitchen, feeling a mix of emotions.
"I don't know when she'll wake up. Whatever we buy might get cold," Yao Xin said.
Xu Bin took her to the market, specifically buying pork ribs and Yao Nan's favorite scallions, along with two large, succulent abalones.
The vendor helped prepare the ingredients, but they still needed to be washed at home. Yao Xin watched, surprised by Xu Bin's attentiveness, which she hadn't expected.
Xu Bin hummed a tune as he cooked, and Yao Xin couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. She had heard from her mother and sister that Xu Bin was gentle and caring, and seeing Yao Le'er's happiness, she began to doubt her initial impressions.
"Big Sister, can you wait a moment? Breakfast will be ready soon," Xu Bin said with a smile.
"I'll try your cooking. At least you're not as cheap as Nan when it comes to buying vegetables," Yao Xin replied with a laugh.
"This lazy girl will sleep until the junk collector arrives. I'll go wake her up," Yao Xin said, standing up.
"Let her sleep a bit longer," Xu Bin suggested.
"Nonsense, don't spoil her so much," Yao Xin said, rushing upstairs, her face twisted with jealousy.
Xu Bin, who had previously paid little attention, now knew more about Yao Xin's situation from his wife's nightly chats. Yao Xin complained about her husband, Zhang Xindao, who was spoiled and immature, often arguing with her and refusing to compromise. Despite her glamorous appearance, she did all the housework because Zhang Xindao was lazy and entitled.
Their meals consisted mainly of takeout and instant noodles, with snacks and beverages stocked at home. Yao Xin initially refused to do chores, but soon realized she had to, as Zhang Xindao wouldn't lift a finger. Clothes piled up, and the house was a mess, so she hired a cleaning service, even when Zhang Xindao was short on money.
Yao Xin's life was a struggle, and her father, Yao Baichuan, also didn't lift a finger in the kitchen. Seeing Xu Bin cook effortlessly, she felt a mix of admiration and envy.
As she rushed upstairs, Xu Bin smiled knowingly. He wanted to stir up her emotions, even though Yao Xin's task hadn't started yet. Being prepared was key, and he planned to exploit her vulnerabilities.
"Good morning, honey! What's for breakfast?" Yao Nan asked, joining him in the kitchen, freshly washed and changed into a tracksuit. She hugged him from behind, beaming with happiness.
"Pig food, since you sleep like a pig," Xu Bin teased, turning to kiss her.
Yao Nan blushed, her eyes sparkling with joy. Behind them, Yao Xin watched, her emotions a tangled mess.
"Big Sister, sit down. Breakfast is almost ready," Xu Bin said.
"Seafood congee? You're amazing, honey," Yao Nan exclaimed, tasting it.
"You're so talkative. Help me set the table," Xu Bin replied.
The market's back stall sold the most expensive but best-tasting items, and customers had to arrive early to avoid selling out.
Yao Xin sat on the sofa, her mind elsewhere as she watched TV. She glanced at Xu Bin and Yao Nan, their hands busy but their faces radiant with happiness. The sight was both familiar and foreign to her.
This was what marriage should be, she thought. A simple, loving moment between a husband and wife, natural and beautiful. She felt a pang of longing, remembering her own strained marriage.
"Big Sister, come eat," Xu Bin called out.
A hearty seafood congee, braised pork intestines, various pickled vegetables, and sliced salted duck eggs made for a satisfying meal.
"Delicious! You worked hard, honey," Yao Nan praised, eating enthusiastically.
"Tastes great," Yao Xin admitted, helping herself to more. She noticed the variety of spices in the kitchen, a sign that Xu Bin cooked regularly.
Just as they finished eating, the junk collector arrived. Xu Bin opened the door, and Yao Xin offered to clear the table and wash the dishes.
"Big Sister, you and Nan go upstairs and sort through the junk. I'll handle the table," Xu Bin insisted, smiling.
"Old public, you go busy with Nan, I come collect," the junk collector said in broken English.
Yao Xin agreed, and the sisters went upstairs with the junk collector. Yao Xin couldn't help but ask, "Nan, does he help with chores at home?"
"Not really. Mom hasn't done laundry in years. When I'm tired or on my period, he does the chores," Yao Nan replied, a hint of pride in her voice.
"He even helped with the deep cleaning upstairs and wiping the corridors," she added, her voice filled with happiness.
Yao Xin was taken aback. "I had no idea."
"Mom and you have always underestimated him. I know better," Yao Nan said, her voice firm.
Yao Xin felt a pang of guilt. "I didn't mean to..."
"You two clear out the junk. I'll let Le'er handle her own things when she gets back," Xu Bin said, leaving the room.
Yao Xin watched him go, her eyes softening. "He even picks Le'er up from school."
Yao Nan smiled proudly. "He's always been considerate and respectful. Last night, he said Le'er is grown up now, and we should respect her privacy."
"Who would have thought?" Yao Xin murmured, her perceptions of Xu Bin shifting dramatically.
Yao Xin was slightly surprised, and as if possessed by a ghost, she couldn't help but start comparing her brother-in-law with her husband.
Her previous sense of superiority and the reasons why she despised my brother-in-law seemed to be all prejudice and ignorance.
