Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1003: God-Slaying Plan
Chapter 1003: God-Slaying Plan
“There’s no doubt that these native deities have already mastered the basic use of divine power and laws. It seems they even possess their own divine abilities and could technically be considered Rank Four creatures.
“But why is their power and aura so underwhelming? ...I suppose it might be related to their small number of believers, or perhaps something is fundamentally flawed in their evolution,” the Spider Queen mused.
Even she could not quite discern what these entities truly were.
Faeloria was just too peculiar, and if the plane’s unique laws had given birth to weakened Rank Four gods, it would not be entirely unreasonable.
After all, in Astral Realm, the birth of a Rank Four deity was a once-in-a-million occurrence. The entire resources of a plane could create only one or two such beings.
Many low-level planes had only one Rank Four entity, and even then, it was only possible because every believer across the plane contributed their power of faith to sustain that single deity.
Faeloria was undoubtedly vast, larger than any world Sein had ever visited. Its territory was estimated to be only slightly smaller than the Magus World itself.
The variety and sheer number of creatures born within it far surpassed that of ordinary low-level and medium-sized planes.
Even so, it had its limits.
Without enough vassal and enslaved planes, could a single plane truly sustain hundreds—perhaps nearly a thousand—deities?
That seemed highly impossible.
The Titan World had successfully birthed over a thousand Titan Gods, but only because it commanded over two thousand enslaved planes and held a unique status within the Magus Alliance.
How could so many deities emerge in Faeloria without vast resources and sufficient believers?
Having spent considerable time in Faeloria, the more Sein discovered, the greater his sense of awe became.
This was undoubtedly a mysterious and powerful world—far more complex than it appeared on the surface.
Moreover, based on the information he had gathered from the Church of Bones, the main continent was said to house hundreds of sizable religious organizations, each with followers primarily consisting of high-intelligence species.
That estimate did not even account for the lesser-known deities with limited influence, such as the Iriavan God, the God of the Alembrites, and the Mirefin God.
These minor deities had only their own species as devotees, meaning their total number of believers could only be so large, regardless of how vast the Faeloria Continent might be.
The Spider Queen was undoubtedly a figure of great authority and vast knowledge in the domain of faith and godhood.
According to her, such a small number of believers would never be able to sustain the divine power of a true Rank Four god in the Astral Realm.
She leaned toward the theory that the laws of this world were simply easier to comprehend, even for low-ranking creatures, which explained how Faeloria had managed to develop such an exceptional divine system and so many so-called “deities”.
At this rate, her ambition of conquering this world using only Blackhaven’s forces was proving to be far more challenging than she had anticipated.
“With everything you’ve uncovered, I’m actually tempted to send a divine clone of myself there and slay one of this plane’s native gods—just to see what happens.
“The stronger gods, like the Bone Lord you provoked earlier, or even the God of Trees and the God of Tuskarrs, won't be easy targets. But if we’re talking about minor deities like the Iriavan God, the God of the Alembrites, and the Mirefin God—perhaps they could be viable targets.”
The Spider Queen rubbed her chin, considering the possibilities.
Her divine clone, when deployed, could easily rival an ordinary Rank Four creature.
With Sein’s Silver Spider Ring as a conduit for divine power, this plan was within the realm of feasibility.
Slaying a Rank Four god?
The very thought sent a thrill through Sein!
Although he had dabbled in studying divine power and even possessed a broken Rank Four tree’s heart, he had never had the chance to properly dissect a god on his experimental table.
His curiosity burned—this was the kind of truth-seeking opportunity he had always dreamed of.
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s do it!” Sein exclaimed.
Sein was rational most of the time, but when it came to the pursuit of truth, his obsessive and manic side took over—reckless, impulsive, and utterly indifferent to consequences.
The Spider Queen, however, sneered coldly.
“You think slaying a god is as simple as capturing a Rank One Treefolk? Do you have any idea how much divine power it takes to transmit my presence across such a distant plane? If not for the fact that I have an abundance of believers—especially after absorbing another branch of the fallen elves recently—how do you think I could squander so much of my divine power on a brat like you?”
Despite being a Truth Seeker, Sein had no real grasp of just how much divine power the Spider Queen had expended on him. After all, divinity was an entirely different field of study from what he usually pursued.
Even the Silver Spider Ring alone had required a considerable amount of divine power to create.
To manifest a divine clone for remote combat in another plane? The expenditure would be astronomical!
Sein chuckled awkwardly and said, “How can you say you’re squandering it on me? It’s all for the sake of your grand conquest of this world, Spider Queen.”
“I need at least twenty years to prepare,” she muttered.
The Spider Queen continued mumbling, “The amplification array in the black tower needs to be expanded at least tenfold. Fortunately, I still have enough materials... I can only hope that when the old man returns, he won’t be too upset that I used up so much of his stash... But then again, with an entire world as compensation, I’m sure I’ll recover the loss...”
"As for you, keep scouting and find me the right target. Since this is our first attempt, it’s best to start with the weakest one to test the waters. You wouldn’t want to die in this world, would you?”
She sneered. freewebnσvel.cѳm
“Yes.” Sein nodded.
In reality, the Spider Queen’s desire to slay one of those weakened Rank Four gods was far from a mere whim.
She needed to study these beings firsthand, to understand Faeloria’s divine hierarchy and accurately gauge the true combat power of this world’s creatures.
Although Sein had also gathered a considerable amount of information during his journey westward, most of it was superficial.
Many of the details he had collected were nowhere near as valuable as the records he had retrieved from the Church of Bones.
The true secrets of a world were only known by Rank Four and above beings—those who stood among the upper echelons of this realm.
Ordinary low-ranking creatures simply lacked the qualifications to comprehend such high-level knowledge.
If these were true Rank Four beings, the Spider Queen would never consider remotely slaying one from another plane.
It would be a waste of effort, especially since she could not descend in her true form.
But if these gods were merely “weakened” Rank Four creatures... the prospect was tempting.
