Chapter 1067: Move

Two thousand dragons ransacking the City of Wealth together was probably the biggest news of the year.

The sheer might of such a force was overwhelming. With wingspans stretching tens of meters, the dragons darkened the skies as they passed, spreading panic across even the farthest corners of eastern Faeloria.

If a single dragon appeared in the wild, tales of some brave hero slaying it would probably circulate soon.

But two thousand dragons acting in unison? Even the deities would think twice before getting in their way.

The dragons of Faeloria were getting smarter.

Most of the time, they kept to themselves on Dragon Island in the outer sea, rarely bothering with affairs on the mainland.

But whenever the Avatar Crisis hit, they would come out to “get rich”.

Dragon Island had more adult dragons than the two thousand that showed up in the City of Wealth.

Still, seeing that many gathered together at once gave everyone a glimpse of just how mighty the dragon gods were.

To Faeloria’s major factions, the dragon gods were considered relatively weak—slightly stronger than the fading ancient gods, but nowhere near the level of the Order or Evil-aligned camps, or the Chaotic demons.

When the dragons looted the City of Wealth, both the Justice League and Wings of Nature, who held sway over the eastern half of Faeloria, had no choice but to mobilize forces for damage control.

But what caught everyone off guard was the dragons’ behavior. They were surprisingly more “courteous” than most robbers.

They looted only the City of Wealth and left the nearby cities alone. Only a few overexcited young dragons—barely past maturity—caused some minor disturbances.

That level of restraint showed they had a clear understanding of the power dynamics and political landscape on the mainland.

Aside from the Goddess of Wealth, who had no backing and whose divine light was all but gone, there was not a single city belonging to other deities that they dared to stir trouble in.

While they cleaned out the City of Wealth, the dragons were quick to insist they had nothing to do with the Goddess of Wealth’s disappearance or the decline in her power.

Of course, no one bought it.

Since the looting of the City of Wealth, most people have blamed the dragons for the goddess’ downfall.

The remaining forces of the Temple of Wealth, along with the goddess’ most devoted followers, had been burning with rage toward the dragons ever since.

While the dragons were busy ransacking the City of Wealth, Sein had already led his team to Mysirral City in the San Jose Kingdom.

Mysirral was a picturesque water city that shimmered as beautifully as a sapphire, with a population of around two hundred thousand.

Rumor had it, this was where the God of Craft was hiding.

Due to the recent turmoil across the kingdom, many were displaced, and a large number of refugees had flooded into Mysirral, which was known for its abundant fisheries.

The Avatar Crisis had been raging for centuries, plunging Faeloria into deep instability.

Thanks to the chaos, Sein and his group had no trouble slipping into the city unnoticed.

Had it been during the peaceful years before the Crisis began, infiltrating a city where a deity was present would have been nearly impossible—even with stealth.

“We’ll move in two weeks. Get all the equipment set up in advance,” Sein said to Flynn and the others, his appearance already altered with a secondary disguise.

The “equipment” he referred to was, of course, portable magic artifacts.

Since taking down the God of First Light and the God of Fire Crickets, Sein had made significant progress in both lumen and pyro elemental truths, which also pushed forward his development of new magic artifacts.

For example, his current model of the disposable magic cannon had nearly triple the destructive power of the version he used during the God of First Light hunt.

Alongside the cannon, there were several other types of advanced magic artifacts and equipment in his arsenal.

Mages always strove for continuous improvement, but Sein’s progress over the past few centuries was nothing short of staggering.

Flynn nodded and quickly led the rest of the team to spread out across Mysirral City.

Their appearances had also been subtly altered.

Unlike Sein, who changed his look using elemental energy, most of the others relied on a piece of magic equipment Sein had created—the Incognito Mask.

It was relatively low-tier but highly practical for undercover missions.

Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye.

During that time, there were no incidents.

It seemed no one else was currently targeting the God of Craft.

Still, Sein knew the risks this time could surpass the last two hunts but chose to proceed anyway.

Rumble!

Violent explosions and elemental energy erupted across the southern part of Mysirral City.

With his “God Tracker”, not even a deity hidden underwater could escape Sein’s vision.

This was a massive lake—and in Mysirral City, known far and wide as the “Water City”, there were dozens more like it.

The explosion had completely severed this lake’s connection to the surrounding water network, cutting off nearby tributaries in one blast.

Thanks to Sein’s unmatched expertise, the chain of explosions even managed to block off three underground rivers feeding into the lake.

The moment the blasts went off, Sein and his team made their move.

A strange crimson light curtain replaced the once-blue sky over the southern edge of the city.

This was one of Sein’s latest creations, developed only within the past few years.

The design was inspired by the funnel-shaped divine artifact that the Spider Queen used during the God of Brute Force hunt.

Everyone improved with time, and Sein was no exception.

While he could not replicate Lorthisra’s original divine artifact, a weakened version was within his reach.

Instead of a funnel, Sein activated a red, oval-shaped metal sphere to generate the blood-colored light curtain.

The surface of the sphere was etched with complex magic arrays, and its core component was none other than the God of Fire Crickets’s heart.

This magic artifact was far inferior to a true divine artifact, and its function was straightforward—to disrupt nearby elemental energies and obscure the field.

From a magical theory standpoint, Sein channeled elemental power to activate the lingering divine energy within the God of Fire Crickets’ heart, unleashing a special force field.

Had it not been for Sein’s recent breakthroughs in manipulating the divine power wielded by Rank Four beings and above, he never would have been able to craft such a tool.

Since the God of Fire Crickets wielded pyro elemental laws, the force field noticeably enhanced Sein’s Flame Demon transformation and amplified the potency of his pyro elemental spells.

In an instant, flames engulfed the city that was once known for its tranquil sapphire hues and misty water vapor.

The blood-red curtain hanging over the southern sky sent a cold chill through the hearts of many residents.

For the refugees from the San Jose Kingdom, the moment they felt that oppressive force descend, some instinctively remembered terrifying scenes they had once witnessed.

Chaos and panic gripped Mysirral.

Creatures and citizens alike began to flee in droves.
