70 -69: It’s That Serious?
Yang Yi received twice as much food as usual.
The person holding the spoon looked at Yang Yi, then at the food on Yang Yi’s plate, and continued to stare at him with a questioning look.
Yang Yi smiled broadly, and as he gazed at the basin filled with chunks of meat, another scoop of meat promptly made its way onto his plate.
Having received food triple the usual amount, Yang Yi nodded and said a word of thanks before walking over to an empty spot with his plate.
Today’s lunch was Mexican, with mashed potatoes as the side and Mexican wraps as the main dish, which meant eating the minced meat rolled in cornbread.
As soon as Yang Yi found a spot, he couldn’t wait to start eating; he was really starving.
This time, of course, no one would come to snatch away Yang Yi’s food.
When Yang Yi had eaten about half of his food, he caught sight of Chris.
The expression on Chris’s face looked somewhat odd when he saw Yang Yi.
Holding his tray, he stood in front of Yang Yi, seemingly lost in thought.
“Sit down, why are you standing?”
Chris placed his tray across from Yang Yi and sat down.
Meanwhile, Boxing King’s lackey continued to take the best parts from the other inmates’ food, but this time, he glanced at Yang Yi and didn’t come any closer, not even to take any of Chris’s food.
Yang Yi looked around and saw that Boxing King’s henchmen were all still there, but Boxing King himself was a no-show, so after Chris had taken a seat, Yang Yi asked softly, “Where’s Boxing King?
Didn’t he come?”
Chris swallowed, then spoke in a low voice, “You don’t know?”
“Know what?”
Chris’s voice grew even lower, “Boxing King is still in the hospital.”
“Huh?
Can’t be, he’s still there after so long?
It’s been a week already, why hasn’t he been discharged.”
Chris quietly said, “There’s a rumor that…
his…
umm, what did you cut off of him?”
Yang Yi paused, then asked, “What did I cut off?”
Chris made a crude gesture, causing Yang Yi to pause once more before immediately shaking his head and saying, “What do you mean?
Nothing like that happened!
I just gave him a kick, which might have been a bit hard, but I had no other choice at the time; surely it didn’t lead to anything being cut off.”
Chris spoke softly, “I don’t know, but that’s how the story is being told, everyone is saying it.
They also say, someone was bitten to death by you!”
“Bitten to death?
No!
At most, a piece of flesh was lost.
Are they still in the hospital?”
“Two of them have already returned.”
Yang Yi exhaled, shook his head, and laughed, “Rumors, all just rumors.”
Chris still looked incredulous and then asked with a curious face, “How did you do it?”
“Do what?”
“That was Boxing King!
He had several guys with him, how did you take them down?
Everyone is saying you know kung fu, do you really know it?
But you’re of South Korean descent.”
Yang Yi shrugged, “I don’t know any kung fu; I just have some courage.
I didn’t want to get messed with, so I had to fight back.
Luckily, I was fortunate.”
Chris remained skeptical, but Yang Yi didn’t feel the need to explain anything.
This person was just a cellmate; if Yang Yi had trouble, Chris would definitely not step up to help, and neither would Yang Yi do the same for Chris.
So, there was no point in explaining anything, nor was there a need to develop any sort of good relationship.
Because, Yang Yi simply doesn’t belong here, even if he isn’t going to be released from prison anytime soon, he would be transferred to the section for serious offenders.
Originally, Yang Yi had planned to find someone to watch his back to avoid being wiped out by Boxing King and his crew, but now with Boxing King still in the hospital and him definitely heading to a high-security area for injuring someone, there was little point in talking too much with Chris.
All in all, Yang Yi had a great time eating his meal, but his mood soured when Buddy came over.
Buddy sat down next to Yang Yi with his tray, then casually put an arm around Yang Yi’s shoulder and asked with a grin, “Bro, how does it feel to be in solitary?”
“Not great, it completely sucked.”
“I thought so.
By the way, bro, you still owe me two-fifty.”
At the mention of two-fifty, Yang Yi sneered and said, “I don’t even know if I have any money now.
If I do, I’ll pay you back, uh, let me make a phone call later.”
Buddy was especially cheerful and nodded immediately, “Pay me two hundred, not two-fifty.
We’re friends, right?
Friends should give each other discounts.”
Yang Yi was stunned again.
There were indeed many surprises today; why was everyone so eager to do him favors?
What was going on?
“Why are you doing this?”
“Like I said, we’re bros.
Dude, you disabled the Boxing King, right?”
Yang Yi was completely bewildered, “I just gave him a kick, can’t say I disabled him.”
Looking around, Buddy then lowered his voice, speaking in a secretive tone, “Confirmed news, Boxing King’s junk got chopped off because you smashed it to bits!
Seriously, even the guards know.
And when Boxing King found out he’d have to be castrated, he cried like a woman—oh, my bad, only as a woman now.”
Yang Yi exclaimed in astonishment, “Is it really that serious?”
“Absolutely, it’s true!”
Yang Yi thought hard about it, unsure of how much strength he had used, but he remembered that he had indeed exerted every ounce of energy, worried he wouldn’t hit Boxing King or that hitting him wouldn’t cause any harm.
But to have kicked Boxing King into a eunuch was something Yang Yi had truly not expected.
Drawing in a sharp breath, Yang Yi whispered, “Wow, then he got what he deserved.”
Buddy snickered twice, then looked up at him with admiration and said, “And you actually walked out of solitary confinement on your own!
Wow, bro, is your heart made of metal?
You’re so awesome!
No wonder Kato personally escorted you over here; he’s mean, but he wasn’t mean to you.”
Yang Yi said in disbelief, “He’s mean?”
“Of course, pal, who wouldn’t be scared of falling into Kato’s hands?
That guy is ruthless, but he knows what’s up.
He admires you, dude, that’s why he respects you!”
Yang Yi pondered for a moment, then asked curiously, “So, walking out of solitary by oneself is a big deal?”
Buddy said seriously, “Oh, bro, there aren’t many who can walk out of solitary confinement after three days, and you’re the first one who’s walked out after seven days, bro!
You’re the first!”
Yang Yi understood then, Kato’s good attitude was simply because he had walked out on his own, but still, wasn’t that a bit too much?
Seeing Yang Yi still puzzled, Buddy whispered, “Bro, the guards are tough, right?
But they’re not stupid; hardly anyone goes after the guards for revenge after getting out, only a madman would do that, right?
But what if someone really is a madman?”
Yang Yi frowned, “What do you mean?”
Buddy chuckled a few times and said, “Buddy, no offense, but someone who comes out of seven days in solitary without a scratch, whether you’re mad or not, surely nobody wants to mess with you, don’t you think?”
