Chapter 275: So Tempting

Fei Chuan couldn’t sit still in his seat. He was still pondering whether to give the brownies he baked or not. He hadn’t hesitated much when he was baking them earlier, but after meeting Bei Sangyun and savoring the food she brought, he wondered if his brownies were good enough to match her sincerity.

Glancing at Bei Sangyun, Fei Chuan noticed her yawning.

Bei Sangyun, who had been paying full attention to Fei Chuan, noticed the movement of his head and turned to him. "What’s the matter?"

"Are you sleepy?" he asked instead.

Bei Sangyun always slept in class. She had mentioned before that she couldn’t sleep well in the Lin mansion. Fei Chuan still remembered this.

Bei Sangyun nodded. "Yeah. But don’t mind me. Just continue what you are doing."

As a considerate suitor, Bei Sangyun did not want to bother the person she was courting. Unable to hold it any longer, she lay down with her arms crossed over the desk. She couldn’t sleep well in the Lin mansion, so she worked late until her eyes couldn’t take it anymore. Then she woke up very early to travel to another city to get the bread for Fei Chuan. She could only rest when she was by his side.

Fei Chuan glanced at her a few times. Seeing her eyes slowly closing, Fei Chuan stood up quietly. He excused himself from the class and went out of the classroom. He went to his locker, took out his spare PE jacket, and returned.

He lightly tapped her shoulder. Bei Sangyun’s eyes opened slightly.

Fei Chuan handed the PE jacket to her. "Use this as a pillow." Bei Sangyun’s arms would be uncomfortable later if she used them as her pillow.

Bei Sangyun was sleepy and unconsciously took the jacket. Perhaps the familiar smell of his jacket reminded her of him, Bei Sangyun was able to sleep the moment her head hit her ’pillow.’

Fei Chuan watched her sleep. He was familiar with her sleeping face; as soon as he opened his phone, he would be greeted by her panda face, which would bring a slight curve on the corner of his lips.

But without the panda marks he made, Bei Sangyun looked very angelic. Her eyelashes were long and was curved at the end. Her expression was soft, not the usual arrogant and teasing expression which made her sharp and intimidating.

A strand of hair moved and fell on her face, blocking Fei Chuan’s view.

Fei Chuan unconsciously moved it away to the back of her ear gently. Bei Sangyun’s hair was soft and smooth. He couldn’t help but pinch it once before letting go.

Fei Chuan crossed his arm over the desk and leaned his head, watching Bei Sangyun slightly snoring. He never thought that watching someone sleep could be so addicting.

His fingers itched. He wanted to touch the tip of her nose like he usually did on his phone. Perhaps the urge was too much; he couldn’t control himself and lightly tapped it.

Bei Sangyun’s face suddenly scrunched up, as if feeling itchy from the light touch.

Fei Chuan’s finger froze. He immediately took back his hand and silently cursed in his mind.

’Shit, once habits are formed it’s hard to break.’

Fei Chuan curled his fingers and sighed defeatedly. He stared at Bei Sangyun’s sleeping face and wondered.

’Who wouldn’t fall for this overbearing yet sweet tyrant?’

Especially when this tyrant only had eyes and her heart for him.

Fei Chuan was really...tempted.

*****

The loud bell rang, jolting awake the two students at the back of the classroom.

Bei Sangyun was jolted from her deep slumber. She hadn’t expected to doze off so deeply. As she opened her eyes, she noticed Fei Chuan also awakening.

Their gazes met, and they were both momentarily stunned.

Fei Chuan immediately sat up straight, checking first if any saliva had dribbled out while he slept. Usually, he maintained good posture during sleep, but with his head tilted, there was a chance some liquid had escaped.

Fortunately, there was only a bit of moisture at the corner of his lips, nothing more. Fei Chuan sighed in relief. Perhaps he had been too exhausted from baking so early that he dozed off.

Bei Sangyun stretched her upper arm and let out a yawn. "That was a good nap," she remarked, then turned to Fei Chuan.

Observing his disheveled hair and the red mark on the side of his face, Bei Sangyun’s lips curved into a smile. Suppressing her laughter, she teased, "Did you manage to catch some good sleep too?"

Fei Chuan, who had obviously slept well, replied with a solemn tone, "No. I didn’t sleep. I just closed my eyes for a bit." He was afraid Bei Sangyun would realize he had fallen asleep while watching her.

"Oh? Is that so?" Bei Sangyun covered her lips to stifle her amusement. The young version of Fei Chuan was incredibly adorable. Like a puppy. "Well, you might want to wash your face. The left side of your face is quite red."

Fei Chuan: "..." Without hesitation, he hurriedly made his way to the restroom.

Bei Sangyun finally couldn’t hold back and burst into laughter.

"Tyra—I mean, Lin Sangyun." The timid vice president of the class finally found the time to interrupt and cautiously approached Bei Sangyun’s desk.

In a good mood, Bei Sangyun replied with a smile, "Yes."

Her smile eased the tension in the timid vice president. It was rare for the usually stern Bei Sangyun to be in such a good mood, so he quickly conveyed the message. "Teacher Ong said to tell you to come to her office when you wake up."

Teacher Ong? What could it be about?

Bei Sangyun nodded, "Got it. Thanks."

Glancing at Fei Chuan’s empty seat, she considered waiting for him. However, she decided it was best to handle this matter first so she could enjoy the rest of her day with Fei Chuan.

"Vice president, could you tell Fei Chuan to wait for me in the cafeteria? I’ll go to the teacher’s office now."

The vice president nodded.

Bei Sangyun knocked on the faculty office door and found their advisor inside.

Teacher Ong greeted her with a smile, beckoning her inside. Everyone in the school loved and respected Bei Sangyun. She was the pride of the school and the favored candidate among the Lin family. Though the school president didn’t explicitly state it, his actions hinted at prioritizing Bei Sangyun.

Teacher Ong, the advisor of Class 3-1A, the star class section, was particularly fond of Bei Sangyun. Despite her reputation as a tyrant, to them, she was a model student who brought numerous medals and pride to the school.

Tian Shen High rose to become the number one high school in the capital largely due to Bei Sangyun’s influence and exceptional grades. When she threatened everyone to study diligently and not tarnish the school’s reputation, grades suddenly surged. The fear of drawing the tyrant’s attention drove students to comply with her instructions as if their lives depended on it.

However, students are only human and grow weary. When Bei Sangyun started sleeping in class regularly, the teachers were initially worried. Yet, they quietly acquiesced to let Bei Sangyun rest more. The Lin family’s demands were relentless, and Bei Sangyun had been pushing herself hard in the past year.
