Chapter 1140: An Era of Revolution (I)

Li Hao was unwilling to admit that those who had fallen at the battle of Boundless were dead. To him, they were simply asleep.

It was at this moment that the Great Li king felt that Li Hao had changed. The young man looked the same as before, but he was different. He took much more initiative and readily went on the offensive!

Indeed, that was what the Great Li king felt.

The previous Li Hao preferred to passively react to developments. But in toppling Divine Nation, bringing Watercloud to heel, decreasing the size of the Skystar military, forcing Great Li to retreat, publicizing recent developments to pressure Barren Dynasty—all of it served to demonstrate that Li Hao had changed.

The young man looked in the king’s direction as such thoughts ran through the latter’s mind. The Great Li king inwardly jerked with surprise. He wanted to divert his gaze, but the young man smiled and threw over a boxing glove. It was a bit dim, but slightly recovered compared to its earlier condition. Li Hao had repaired it using some of the great dao power that he’d collected.

The Great Li king blinked and quickly caught the treasure, looking at the young man without a word. His boxing glove of the Tyrant Sovereign and the Watercloud empress dowager’s personal sword of the Human King Consort had been tossed out in the previous fight to help Li Hao.

The two didn’t have time to retrieve their weapons after the battle was over. When considering the severity of his wounds, the Great Li king had decided to give up on the boxing glove.

He had another one in Great Li, in either case. He could let this one go.

To think that Li Hao would return the boxing glove to him! And not in a depleted state, but a much more revitalized state. It looked like he only needed to temper it a while longer to return the glove to its previous condition.

The Great Li king was surprised by the development—the glove was not an ordinary treasure! His battle strength would increase by another level with it in hand and immensely decline without it. Li Hao had returned it to him and even repaired some of its might.

The Great Li king was silent for a while and looked at Li Hao, his tone low. “Commander Li, this is the weapon of one of the strongest powerhouses in the ancient age. Since Stellaris is broken, you will need a powerful weapon...”

It would be fine enough if Li Hao had Stellaris at his side. The key thing was, he didn’t.

Was he not going to keep the boxing glove for himself then?

Or perhaps he was more interested in the personal sword of the Human King Consort? Being another fellow swordsman, the sword could be deployed to greater effect in Li Hao’s hands.

“It’s not like it’s mine,” Li Hao chuckled. “What’s mine is mine and what isn’t mine is not mine. The sword’s master still lives. If the empress dowager was my enemy, then her sword would be mine. Since she is not, then that sword is still someone else’s.”

The Great Li king slowly turned over the words in his mouth. The young man was very straightforward, but his words came with quite the pressure!

Whatever the enemy owned was his.

“Be careful,” Li Hao whispered as the king became lost in thought. “The three great organizations are not easy to deal with. The world is shaking and trembling these days—the ancient powerhouses are quivering. Comparatively, heavyweights of the new dao are in a very different situation—they will welcome a strengthening period soon!”

The Great Li king blinked as another thought occurred to him. “Commander Li, this king is curious about something. Do the limits of the new martial dao... have something to do with you?”

The matter had niggled at him for a while. Every time Li Hao improved, the restraints of the world seemed to relax somewhat. The Great Li king didn’t sense it on a deep level, but he could detect a corresponding increase in the limits of Li Hao’s powerhouses.

“Those with Ying Hongyue must be practicing the new dao!” Li Hao inclined his head. “The current limits of the new dao may have reached ninth level Sun and Moon. Even if they aren’t on par with me, they may have broken seventh level.

“Meanwhile, the Great Li king is only sixth level Sun and Moon. You would have a difficult time against seventh level... Of course, they may not have improved that much. The limits are the limits...”

While it was difficult to speak for the others, one could at least reach the conclusion that Ying Hongyue and the Red Moon exalted emperor complemented each other. They coexisted through the seal; Ying Hongyue was certainly a very bold character. He sealed away the exalted emperor on one hand and utilized the emperor’s strength on the other.

Ying Hongyue walked a tightrope with his actions and might be able to further intercept more strength with the weakening of the seal.

The Great Li king nodded solemnly. Li Hao was a very interesting person. He dared to fight and kill even ancient Saints!

The young man killed divine spirit Saints at the drop of a hat and even took resources from the exalted emperor right beneath the latter’s nose. But when Li Hao spoke of Ying Hongyue, he always did so with wariness.

The Great Li king had come across Ying Hongyue last time in Great Li nation; the man was indeed quite a character. But... he wasn’t to the point of drawing such prudence, was he?

“This king understands!” The Great Li king nodded. “Then, Commander Li, this king takes his leave!”

They were enemies and had a number of casualties caused by the other. But the Great Li king remained very polite and discussed withdrawing his troops.

Li Hao nodded without saying anything.

The Great Li king inwardly heaved a sigh of relief and called out, “The army... will come with this king and return to Great Li!”

The million strong army beneath him might not have been willing to accept this decision before, but now they wished for nothing more than to have two additional pairs of legs so they could run away faster.

Some major monster spirits appeared at this time; one of them cried out in a piercing voice, “You may depart, but leave behind the Ash Mountain monster spirits!”

Li Hao tilted his head—it was the golden eagle. The sight of the monster spirit threw him into a daze, it was like he was seeing his master.

The four monster spirits possessed mediocre strength and looked to have just set foot into the Mountain and Sea level. Li Hao hadn’t let them run around previously out of a desire to protect them. He ignored them after battle broke out and simply instructed them that they shouldn’t cause trouble.

These were the monster spirits that his teacher had observed when practicing the Five Styles. Yuan Shuo had visited them once when he was in the area—he’d been very happy to see that old friends of several decades were still around.

It was the monster spirits that were highly indignant from past treatment, but didn’t dare take revenge. Now that the Great Li army was about to retreat, they stepped forward to demand that Great Li leave behind the Ash Mountain spirits they had captured.

Li Hao didn’t involve himself in this matter.

“It’s just a few monster spirits,” the Great Li king remarked offhandedly. “Ash Mountain monster spirits have killed quite a few of my Great Li soldiers. But, I will consider Commander Li in this matter and leave the monster spirits behind. However, there will be no mercy shown if any monster spirits dare trespass in Great Li from this moment forth!”

The countless monster spirits among the army viewed the development with trepidation. While it was a humiliation and suffering to be battle steeds for Great Li, at least they wouldn’t die!

Indeed, the monster spirits were secretly cursing out the golden eagle. Just look at how wary the Great Li king was of Li Hao! Apparently the young man hated monster spirits because he’d once seen monster spirits eat humans. It was rumored that he once had a dog, but turned it into dog stew a long time ago!

The rumors seemed very real, so wouldn’t these monster spirits be staying to their deaths?

Meanwhile, the golden eagle was very proud of itself for having saved Ash Mountain monster spirits. Unfortunately, the major monster spirits wanted nothing more than to wring the neck of that yellow chicken! How dangerous would their circumstances be now!

Li Hao said nothing and simply looked at the golden eagle. He waited until the Great Li king finished expunging his army of monster spirits.

“Those of Ash Mountain may return to their homes,” he said slowly. “But you may not kill humans! I will not involve myself with you if you do not tread on my territory! Unless humans attack you first... Ash Mountain monster spirits will exist no longer if any of you eat humans!”

“We would never dare!” came a major monster spirit’s mental ripples soon after Li Hao made his announcement. There were countless strong presences brimming from the other side. How would the monster spirits dare say anything to the contrary?

The Great Li king was a vicious person, but the young man had backed the king into a corner. Li Hao was terrifying beyond belief!

“And, I have another small matter that I require assistance for,” Li Hao nodded slightly.

“We wouldn’t dare, please speak of it, milord!”

“The Forbidden Sea passes through Ash Mountain and has left a hidden current within. You are to oversee it and keep it under control when you return! The method is simple—when the hidden current erupts with seawater, you are to suppress it with force!”

It was no secret that there was an offshoot of the Forbidden Sea within the Ash Mountain. The major monster spirits pledged their cooperation and looked at Li Hao expectantly. Could they go now?

The young man waved them off; the crowd immediately scampered. Only the golden eagle and others did not leave.

The eagle flew over, as did the others used in crafting the Five Styles.

“Sir Li, where is your master?” transmitted the giant ape.

Several people paled in horror at the question, but Li Hao smiled easily.

“He’s in closed door cultivation, does Brother Ape miss my teacher?”

The ape seemed to be laughing as well. “Not that, just that it’s a bit of a regret to not see him. We should be returning to Ash Mountain with the retreat of the army. I’d wanted to visit the four seas, what a pity... Forget it then, we’ll go back home since we can’t visit the seas. I just wonder when we’ll see that fellow next.”

“Do you guys need to go too?”

“What would we do if we don’t leave?” responded the eagle. “Great Li doesn’t dare get on your bad side and you don’t need our help. There’s too many people here with vibrant blood qi. We’ll want to eat them if we stay here for long, and then you’ll kill us for it, won’t you?”

“Then alright, it’s a good idea to head back!” Li Hao laughed. “I remember my teacher going over the Five Styles with you guys the last time we met. Although you are monster spirits, the Five Styles originated from you, so you can cultivate it as well! Don’t dismiss it out of hand—while monster spirits are not humans, the secret art of the Five Styles is very suited for you. Practice it well!”

The major monster spirits were surprised, but didn’t say anything. They soon left with their hangers-on. Silver City was suddenly much emptier than before.

Li Hao quietly watched them leave, then turned back to those who were left. He vanished as well.

“The Demon Hunters will come see me tomorrow!” The young man was already gone.

Zhao Shuguang and the rest looked at each other after seeing Li Hao leave in such a carefree fashion. The young man... gave them a very dangerous feeling at present!
