Starforce Warriors-Chapter 533: Time Reversal (2)
Chapter 533: Time Reversal (2)
“Let’s call San Zang to Tokyo,” someone suggested.
The proposal was instantly met with unanimous approval. Although San Zang was notorious for causing complications and stirring up trouble, his combat prowess was equally legendary. He had achieved numerous miracles in the past. Despite only being in Jiepeng for a short time, he had already become a legend in the minds of his comrades.
“Actually, there’s someone else we might consider,” Truth Listener suddenly said.
The others immediately understood.
The Monkey! The mysterious man behind the monkey mask. This enigmatic figure had only acted two or three times. But his results had already surpassed the accomplishments of the Dragon Group’s operations in Jiepeng over the past several years.
Ordinary undercover members might not know the full story, but the leaders in the room were well aware. The Monkey was no ordinary operative. The biggest problem, however, was that no such person was in the Dragon Group's member archives. No one could verify the true identity of the Monkey. This was the very point that made everyone uneasy.
Could this individual be trusted at such a critical moment?
If this turned out to be a counterintelligence ploy by Jiepeng, the Dragon Group’s network in Jiepeng could be completely exposed and eradicated. Such a loss would be utterly catastrophic.
“We can ask for San Zang’s opinion,” Dragon Scale said after a long pause. “He was in Urawa Base City during that time and met the Monkey. He might have a more accurate assessment.”
This was a monumental mission. If they could secure the help of the mysterious and formidable Monkey, the chances of success would undoubtedly increase significantly. With a rough plan outlined, they used the Dragon Group’s covert channels to send an urgent summon to San Zang.
Two hours later, San Zang arrived in a hurry, dust-covered and visibly tired.
“What’s so urgent?” The big-eared, portly man grumbled as he walked in. “I’m about to shed all my fat from running around! You jealous guys didn’t want me in the Eternal Dragon’s Roar mission before, and now this?”
The group was unfazed by his complaints. San Zang’s antics were well-known to everyone. He always griped, but when it came time for action, he was ferocious and never held back.
Dragon Scale didn’t waste any time and quickly explained the entire situation to him.
After listening to the explanation, San Zang immediately responded, “We can’t bring in the Monkey. This person’s origins are very unclear. I’ve been observing him in secret, and he might not truly be one of us. It’s possible that he’s a trap set by Jiepeng, baiting us so that they can uproot the Dragon Group entirely before the full-scale divine weapon invasion. If we take the bait, the consequences will be catastrophic, and we can’t afford such a failure.”
This judgment call left the others deeply disappointed. However, they trusted San Zang’s expertise.
“Don’t worry,” San Zang declared confidently, thumping his chest. “As long as I’m here, it doesn’t matter who shows up; I’ll blow their heads off! Royal Saints, Temple Demigods, whoever they are, I’ll take them down!”
After further discussions, the group finalized their plans. The other six members left the room, leaving only Dragon Scale and San Zang behind.
“So why don’t you want the Monkey involved in this mission?” Dragon Scale asked.
“Oh? You figured that out?” San Zang chuckled, a sly grin on his face. “Then tell me, why didn’t you want me to participate in the Eternal Dragon’s Roar mission before?”
Dragon Scale answered calmly, “Because that mission didn’t require brute strength.”
“Hah.” San Zang scoffed. “You can’t even admit it. Violating protocol just so you could leave someone behind to keep the Dragon Group’s embers alive in Jiepeng? You didn’t want me in that mission because you knew if all of you died, I’d be the one to reignite the flame.”
“So?” Dragon Scale countered calmly.
He had always known that San Zang wasn’t as unreliable as he seemed on the surface. In fact, this seemingly carefree man was as sharp as they came.
“So, since I’m already part of this operation, why bring that damned Monkey into it too?” San Zang replied confidently. “If we all die, he can absolutely rebuild the Dragon Group in Jiepeng. Heck, he might even do a better job than we ever could.”
“But didn’t you just say you could take down anything in your way?”
“What? Is bragging a crime now?”
“...”
“Besides, I only said that to boost morale,” San Zang added with a sheepish grin.
“Fine. Let’s say you’re right,” Dragon Scale conceded, his curiosity piqued. “But I have to ask—do you really think so highly of the Monkey?”
“Well, yeah, he’s impressive,” San Zang admitted, then shrugged. “But he’s not as strong as you’re hoping. At best, he’s got the combat strength of a quasi-saint. He wouldn’t make much of a difference against the heavy hitters in Jiepeng’s Temple. It’s better to let him stay behind and develop further. I’m genuinely curious to see how far he can grow.”

In the Secret Time Pavilion, the cooldown period had not yet ended. The husky, Little Nine, carefully cleaned up the mess left by the little black dog. With a flick of its paw, strange patterns shimmered in the air.
Moments later, a three-meter-diameter phantom mirror appeared in front of it. On the other side of the mirror was a massive black dog that looked as imposing as a lion. The giant dog looked like an ordinary, stocky mongrel, yet it radiated a devastatingly oppressive aura, even across the vast void separating them.
“Hey, Black Bro! Is it morning or evening on your side?” Little Nine greeted with a cheerful grin.
The giant dog’s sharp eyes swept across the pavilion and asked, “Where’s my pup?”
Little Nine hurriedly responded, “Rest assured, Black Bro! I’ve already entrusted him to Li Xiaofei. He likes your pup a lot, and they’re getting along great. By the way, Black Bro, about the thing you promised me... hehe...”
The giant dog replied, “Don’t worry. Once I return from the Holy Emperor’s expedition, I’ll send it to you right away.”
“Black Bro, your word is as good as gold. I trust you completely,” Little Nine said, overjoyed. But then, a thought struck, and its expression shifted to concern. “Black Bro, has the situation on the front lines changed? It’s rare for the Holy Emperor to personally lead an expedition!”
The black dog spoke in a deep, grave tone. “The Ziwei Starfield has fallen.”
Little Nine’s fur bristled instantly. It leaped up, yelling, “That’s impossible! My master, Li Mu, is invincible! How could the Ziwei Starfield fall with him guarding it? Black Bro, don’t joke with me!”
The black dog remained silent, its gaze steady and somber. At that moment, a white cat appeared in the mirror, its voice clear and articulate.
“Nine Pup, how’s your task coming along?” The white cat spoke like a human even though it had a pair of fluffy wings on its back. “Your master is currently missing, but don’t worry. My pet is already looking for him. That kid, Ding Hao, inherited my true legacy. He’ll definitely find Li Mu.”
The visibly irritated black dog rubbed its head with a paw and then swung it, smacking the white cat out of the frame.
“Xie Yue, why don’t you just keep your mouth shut? Is that how you comfort a dog?” The black dog barked angrily.
But Little Nine was already spiraling into a frenzy. It paced back and forth, its eyes filled with panic.
“No! I have to find Master! What could those Reapers possibly do to make Master Li Mu go missing? I don’t believe it! I have to find him.. I must find him!”
Its voice grew more frantic as it entered a state of uncontrollable rage.
The massive black dog tried to calm it down. “Calm down, Little Nine. You still have a mission to—”
“To hell with the mission!” Little Nine snarled, baring its teeth.
“I’m just a dog without even an official place. The only meaning in my life is my master. I must find him. I will find him!”
At that moment, a faint light flashed as Li Xiaofei appeared in the Secret Time Pavilion, curiosity written all over his face.
“Who are you planning to find?” He asked.
The cooldown had just ended, so he had entered the pavilion to continue his cultivation. But as soon as he arrived, he noticed something off about Dog Bro’s demeanor.
Little Nine’s agitated state eased slightly, and it turned to look at him. The intricate mirrored patterns in the void had already vanished.
“I’m leaving for a while,” Dog Bro said. “From now on, this Secret Time Pavilion will be entirely under your control.”
“What do you mean, under my control?” Li Xiaofei was taken aback.
Bro thought for a moment before explaining, “I’ll set it up for you. The 1:10 time flow ratio will remain active. You’ll still be able to store external items, and the Spatial Point Theft feature will function as usual. Additionally...”
It paused as it thought for a moment. Perhaps it would be wise to unlock more features of the Moonlight Treasure Box for Li Xiaofei. Enhancing his survival and self-preservation abilities seemed crucial. After all, if something happened and Li Xiaofei lost his protector, he could get himself into serious trouble or end up dead. That was unacceptable.

“I’ll unlock the Time Reversal feature of the Moonlight Treasure Box for you,” Dog Bro explained patiently. “Its cooldown is the same as the Secret Time Pavilion: once every three days. It allows you to enter an invulnerable state for a brief moment, rewind your state to what it was up to half an hour ago within a single second, and create a localized temporal disruption that can harm enemies. If used properly, it’s a god-tier skill that’s capable of bringing you back from the brink of death.”
Dog Bro’s figure began to fade like a phantom until it vanished into thin air.
“Wait!” Li Xiaofei tried to speak, raising his hand instinctively to stop Dog Bro, but it was too late. There was nothing he could do to keep it from leaving.
It’s... gone?
Li Xiaofei felt a strange emptiness in his heart. Although Dog Bro spent most of its time sleeping in the Secret Time Pavilion, its sudden departure left him with an inexplicable sense of loss, as if something profoundly important had been taken away.
And judging by how eager Dog Bro had been to leave, not even bothering to go through its den, Li Xiaofei couldn’t help but speculate.
Could it be... its lady dog was stolen?
At the same time, Li Xiaofei noticed a newfound connection between himself and the grand, white temple. He could clearly sense its presence as if it were always within reach. Previously, he could only enter the pavilion when the cooldown expired and only by summoning it consciously. There was no mental link between him and the temple during the cooldown period.
Now, however, the connection was constant, and the pavilion felt like an extension of himself. Curious, he began experimenting with the Time Reversal feature.
The moment he understood its full capabilities, he couldn’t help but shout, “What the hell?!”
This skill was ridiculously overpowered.
