Stormwind Wizard God-Chapter 301: Storm Altar
Chapter 301 - Storm Altar
Gul'dan stroked his beard and answered, "This thing is full of energy. I believe these runestones and some other runestones on the edge of the forest are evenly distributed here, forming a huge magical trap and spell barrier."
"What are the barriers? They don't stop us, or cause any harm," Orgrim pointed out.
"No, no, because we are only physically entering the woods and using normal weapons," Gul'dan replied. "I think these runestones restrict the use of magic, and it is very likely that only the elves can cast their spells within this range. I have tried to cast some spells here but they all failed. If I retreat 10 steps away and go to the other side of the mountain, I can resume casting spells."
Orgrim was solemn.
This is not a fun thing.
He clearly remembered how destructive human magic was. If the orc warlocks had not suppressed the human mages, the orcs would have had to pay a heavy price to defeat the humans. This was the most important reason why he did not kill all the Shadow Council that he hated so much.
Human magic comes from elves.
He was well aware of Gul'dan's power. Even now that he was injured, Gul'dan's magic was still the most powerful among the orcs, bar none.
The great battle with Antonidas, known as the strongest wizard of mankind, in Southshore Town truly proved Gul'dan's strength.
But it was Gul'dan who told himself that his magic could not be used.
"What about the trap?"
"It seems to be able to draw out the powerful force hidden beneath the forest. As long as those long ears want it...bang!" Gul'dan grinned, made a sound with his mouth, and made an exaggerated explosion gesture.
"How many people can you handle at once?"
Gul'dan raised five fingers with a grim smile.
"Five thousand?" Orgrim asked tentatively.
"Fifty thousand. And as long as we stand densely enough in any five places within the range specified by the rune, it won't be a problem to kill ten thousand trolls in one place."
The chief immediately recalled the day when Stormwind was captured, when thousands of orc warriors were burned to death in the flames. Although the Blackrock Clan orcs have a certain degree of fire resistance, they are not immune to fire damage.
If the fire is big enough, people will get hurt and die...
When Orgrim knew the answer, he was shocked and raised his hammer very simply and directly.
His meaning was very clear.
"Is there any way to destroy it?"
"No, no, no, this is such a waste. I can turn it into a storm altar and use the power drawn from the rune stone to strengthen living creatures in some way." Gul'dan's hunched body exuded an evil aura.
"No orcs will take part in your reinforcement," the chieftain refused sternly.
"They have indeed become stronger."
Orgrim stared at Gul'dan with half-closed eyes, exuding murderous intent: "Stronger, greener, less intelligent, and more violent."
Gul'dan bowed his head deeply. He did not intend to openly confront the Warchief at this point in time. "I plan to strengthen the ogres. Perhaps some physical mutations will occur. However, that has nothing to do with the orcs."
If it's none of your business, just ignore it.
Feeling that the loss of the Horde's elite had led to a decline in its combat power, Orgrim agreed, just as he had previously agreed to allow the dead humans who became death knights to join the Horde.
The preparation went smoothly and was very time-consuming.
Originally, Orgrim thought that Zul'jin would be impatient. Who knew that Zul'jin said, "My ancestors spent hundreds of years trying to break through this barrier. I don't mind waiting for a few days or months as long as I can break through it. The trolls can wait."
After that, Zul'jin went off to hunt the outer elf patrols for fun.
After Gul'dan used his evil dark magic and rituals to break through the outermost layer of the rune stone's defenses, he commanded the two-headed ogre hero, Cho'gall, to dismantle the huge rune stone in an orderly and careful manner.
This is a job that requires both high technology and high physical strength.
Direct violent dismantling will result in the end being right next to it.
A clumsy ogre triggered the protective barrier on the rune stone, and what happened?
The unfortunate guy was blown to a height of thirty meters, and then his entire body was scattered into over ten thousand parts, evenly spread over an area of nearly one hundred square meters.
Even if this ogre's mother came here, she would never recognize that this was her child.
It took them eight hours to completely dig out the rune stone.
Fortunately, Orgrim arrived here first with some elite troops and a vanguard mainly composed of trolls, otherwise he would have had to let nearly 100,000 troops wait during this period of time.
Now, the 100,000-strong army is still advancing at a steady speed sixty kilometers away.
Here, Cho'gall had skillfully broken the massive stone into several still-large pieces, and brought five of them to the clearing, where he spent hours reshaping the stones and placing them in the correct pentagram formation on a tested clearing above a forest energy leyline.
"Are you all ready?" Gul'dan asked impatiently. Not far away, Cho'gall shook his head. The huge ogre grunted like a pig, and his strong arms with explosive power were carrying the last piece of runestone fragment, which weighed at least five tons, and walking on the open space.
"It's all right now," he shouted, rubbing his shoulder with a hand.
Gul'dan finally nodded in satisfaction.
He really couldn't imagine how to manipulate the original hill-like rune stone without sufficient labor.
The runestone chunks were so large, heavy, and oddly offset that a couple of ogres could lift them, but the job would require at least a dozen orcs.
Orgrim hated magic and would never allow the "noble" orcs to do such a dangerous thing.
Fortunately the Warchief allowed Gul'dan to use some ogres to accomplish this, and Cho'gall could command his one-headed brethren more easily than any orc could.
Yes, facing a group of muscular idiots, you will go crazy no matter whether you are a world-class wise man or not.
Gul'dan could figure out how the elves had first moved the intact runestones to their original locations.
That's physical work that has nothing to do with magic.
Magic is powerful, but compared to the energy required to use magic to provide a lifting force of 100 kilograms, it is better to use slaves directly.
Forest trolls are similar in strength to ogres and are much smarter, and they are better at following specific commands.
But the elves don't have the habit of raising troll slaves for a long time...
The stone was finally in place, in its correct position. Even Gul'dan's critical eye could find no fault with it.
Gul'dan raised his hand, and the five orc warlocks each chose five of the rune stones and stood beside them.
"Fortunately, Orgrim, that guy with only conspiracy and muscle in his head, didn't kill all my people."
Fortunately, this is the case, otherwise there would be no possibility of completing this ritual.
As always, Gul'dan believed that this would be successful but was still not completely sure.
However, as an evil warlock with a supreme spirit of inquiry, there was nothing he could not sacrifice. Moreover, Gul'dan fully believed that if he failed, he would survive unscathed.
"Let's get started!"
He nodded to Cho'gall, who was shouting at the gathered ogres.
This is recruiting guinea pigs.
There was a shoveling (actually a fight) and grunting and shouting before the weakest of the ogres stepped forward.
Of course, even if this guy is the thinnest among the ogres, he weighs several times that of a human and is twice as tall.
Cho'gall barked orders at the ogre, who shrugged his shoulders, looking heroically ready to die, and walked into the open space between the stones.
He stood in the center of the pentagram and waited, motionless.
One good thing about ogres is that they will stand still when asked to do so. If they are not under another command or looking for food, ogres can stand there for hours, motionless like marble statues.
Gul'dan often thought that these creatures evolved from stone, which would explain their thick skin that could easily resist swords, as well as their shockingly low intelligence.
If Gul'dan ordered them to "move forward", they would first spend a few seconds thinking about their lives, perhaps recalling the delicious human food they had eaten last night and drooling, and then move forward in a random direction, killing anything they disliked on the way, sometimes even including their own kind or theoretical masters.
Given a choice, Gul'dan would never give orders to these idiots over Cho'gall.
With Gugaar here, at least these idiots will be on the right track and won't have to worry about hurting their own people. Of course, efficiency is still a mystery. Sometimes they can think about life while someone is stabbing them in the thigh with a knife.
Only when the two-headed ogre is present can their combat efficiency reach an acceptable level.
Gul'dan's thoughts returned to the present, he raised his arms, and began to resonate with the dark energy bestowed upon him by Kil'jaeden, the deputy leader of the Burning Legion, on Draenor.
The evil power tore through the planes, crossed the space, and poured into Gul'dan. As a medium, he immediately divided it into five parts and transferred it to the soul crystals on the chests of the five warlocks, and finally injected it into the rune stones they were facing.
The stench, decay, and decadence are corroding the arcane power that originates from nature.
This is not without cost.
The source of nature instinctively resisted corrosion and invasion. A brilliant light burst out from the depths of the earth and was directly transmitted to the rune stone. The energy visible to the naked eye violently attacked the five warlocks who attempted to pollute the rune stone.
The force of the counterattack was so violent that the skull head of the skull staff of the warlock standing in the south cracked. Less than half a second after the foul smell of death leaked out, the power of the earth seemed to find an outlet and suddenly attacked the warlock.
"Woo——" The unlucky guy who lacks strength is always the first to suffer.
The power of nature crashed into that guy's body like a raging wave. You could see unknown plants similar to young grass sprouts growing out of every pore on his arms.
"Waste!" Gul'dan spat.
Without his reminder, Gu Dan grabbed the doomed warlock and took his place.
Three seconds later, Gul'dan had to do the same thing as the two-headed ogre mage.
Gul'dan was unhappy with the feeling of having to go on the field himself.
Fortunately, the remaining three guys were obviously taller than the two dead ghosts. Now, the five wizards each chose a stone in front of them and infused it with dark energy.
As all the rune lines on all five rune stones filled with black light and vibrated, Gul'dan concentrated and chanted a short spell.
Every note of the evil spell contained a forbidden bloody meaning, which made Orgrim, who was watching from the sidelines, very uncomfortable. The chief frowned, but unfortunately he had no choice, as shamans were not good at breaking the enemy's magical defenses, and his only shaman, Zuluhed, was obviously more than two levels lower than Gul'dan.
More dark energy arced along Gul'dan's wrinkled skin, from his scarlet fingertips into his runestone.
But this time, the energy is no longer a simple infusion.
The overflowing demonic aura turned into a black comet, passing through the stone far in front of his left at high speed, and then jumped to the nearest stone on his right. The demonic power did not stop, it continued to jump to the nearest stone on the left, then to the far right, and finally returned to the stone in front of him.
A glowing pentagram connected all five stones. Where the black comet passed, countless complicated spells emerged on the land that quickly turned black and no longer had any trace of life.
The next moment, the sky above the entire altar suddenly darkened. The huge amount of energy corroded by the darkness suddenly rushed up to a height of a thousand meters, and then exploded in the sky.
A strange storm soon appeared in the sky, consisting of a clockwise tornado of white light and a counterclockwise tornado of black dark light. The storm stretched straight from the ground to a height of thousands of meters and could be clearly seen even hundreds of miles away.
This horrific storm alarmed the entire area and all the high elves who were fighting the trolls.
The ogre in the pentagram still stood there like a stone statue, stiff as a rock, although Gul'dan had already seen clear fear in that guy's eyes.
Unfortunately, he was facing Gugal.
A natural two-headed ogre, the absolute ruler among ogres.
No matter how scared he was, even if Gujar wanted him to die, he had to obey.
"Good, Gul'dan picked a good guy." Gul'dan grinned evilly.
The power of the earth resonates with the sky.
The power on the demonized rune stone was finally directed by Gul'dan to the middle of them - to the ogre who was standing there, not trembling but extremely shaken inside.
A black halo surrounded him.
It started with one circle, then countless circles.
The black energy seemed to be real, pouring onto the ogre's body, pouring more and more, and finally turning into a huge black sphere. The entire ogre was swallowed up by this dark giant ball that was impenetrable to light.
Immeasurable dark energy turned into a black storm, penetrating into the ogre's body through every pore and hole.
"Ahhhhhh——" The ogre finally couldn't help but scream.
After a moment, the screams doubled as both heads screamed at the same time.
