Chapter 283: Found Out

Silas looked at Aya, his eyes narrowed.

"You’re hiding your real mana amount."

This sentence was a statement, not a question.

Silas was sure that Aya was hiding her real mana amount. There were not many people who could detect other people’s mana pool and the White Family was one of them. Silas himself didn’t have that ability, but he could guess more or less based on the magic spells they used.

So far, Aya had never shown that she had a large amount of mana. But at the same time, Silas didn’t think that Aya’s mana amount was that pitiful.

If that potion really worked as Aya said, then her mana amount should have been more than that.

Aya smiled faintly and raised her hand. "You too, Brother Silas."

Silas arched his eyebrows.

After reaching rank 7, Silas knew that it had become easier for him to hide his mana pool from other people. After all, the White Family would not be so bored that they came to him and checked his mana pool every single day.

Even back then, no one did anything like that.

So he was not very worried.

But Aya knew and she said it very frankly to him.

The two of them looked at each other and in the end, Silas sighed and rubbed Aya’s head. "You go back and rest too. Even if you’re only watching, today’s incident is still quite tiring for you."

Though, Aya only made a small move to deal with the unranked ghost. Silas could see that the ghost was clearly not Aya’s opponent.

If anything, the ghost was definitely going to be killed if Aya had been more ruthless and didn’t wait for Yun to take out that sealing scroll.

Aya smiled and replied, "Yes~. You too, Brother Silas."

After that, Aya turned around and walked back to the White Family Residence. Her brother had long returned with her father because his situation suddenly worsened with the appearance of these ghosts. It could be said that his body couldn’t withstand the ghosts at all.

As Aya walked, she thought about Silas.

To be honest, her move of exposing Silas’s move was a bit impulsive.

Aya didn’t know why, but she wanted to let Silas knew that she knew about his secret and told him bluntly that he himself has been hiding in Wansu City.

As for why...

They didn’t mention it.

But even without it being said, the two of them should be clear that the main reason was the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s presence. He was still holding the highest power in Wansu City and it was not that easy for others to challenge him.

In the beginning, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City was indeed doing his work well and all. But over the years, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City showed his true color and only cared for his benefit and the power that he could receive from Wansu City.

This chilled the hearts of the four big families.

Yet at the same time, none of them dared to challenge the Fourth Head of the Wansu City head on. They could only hide their abilities to a certain degree.

Her father did that.

The other patriarchs also did that.

Aya didn’t know how Silas knew about the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s matter. It was also possible that Silas was not doing it because of this reason but because of some other reasons. But no matter what, the two of them were hiding their real abilities and had no plan to show it on the surface at all.

Slowly, Aya went back.

She saw Evan had already returned to his room and should be planning to take that potion soon. She herself made her way to her room and then looked in the direction where her younger brother was located. Her expression was a bit strange because she could feel the dark element seemed to be overflowing.

Does her brother got entangled by the ghost just now?

Aya felt that it shouldn’t be.

She looked in Aren’s direction for a while before returning to her own room. She was not allowed to enter Aren’s quarter, so she chose not to think too much about it.

...

"Ugh..."

Aren was lying on his bed at this moment, beads of sweat covered his face.

Ever since the ghosts appeared, Aren felt pain all over his body and he couldn’t move freely. The ghosts semed to exert some kind of suppression that affected him, making his entire body hurt.

Aren wanted to scream, yell, and so on.

But no words came out of his mouth.

He could only lay down.

In that building, Keiran and Lilac helped to protect him and carried him out. But the two of them didn’t know what to do with Aren’s situation.

Thankfully, the White Family Patriarch appeared soon enough to bring Aren away, back to the White Family Residence.

It was just that his condition didn’t improve at all.

He still felt pain all over his body.

Unlike Aya who could sense the dark element, Aren only felt that his entire body was crushed but he didn’t know the reason or how it could happen. He was lying on his bed, gasping for breath and his father was by the side, asking the medical staffs to help.

Various light magic spells were given.

Aren felt a bit better.

But it was not enough...

"Keep going." the White Family Patriarch’s face was really bad when he saw Aren’s situation. Ever since the attack of the ghost back then, Aren’s situation hasn’t been very optimistic. This made the White Family Patriarch a bit tired.

But he also couldn’t give up on his son.

Anyway, he himself had a lot of money that he could pour for his son.

"Yes."

More light element magic spells were poured out and Aren closed his eyes to rest. He felt more comfortable but at the same time, he also felt unwilling.

Why...?

Why is he so weak like this?

Is there nothing that he could do?
