Chapter 76: Can I Justify This?

’What!? No! You’re coming with me!’

The girl cried back as tears gathered in her eyes, but the wyvern said that it was already done for. Its wings and body were burnt and it was nearing death! There was no way it would survive!

The girl closed her eyes as tears gathered there! She was desperately trying not to cry, but even as she opened her eyes with a resolute expression on her face, a tear fell against her will! She immediately tore the stone off her neck and immediately threw it into her mouth and ate it!

Doon!

The girl suddenly felt her chest quake as a massive tremor traveled through her body! She let out a desperate gasp and her hand tightened against her wyvern’s leash! Her eyes opened wide and her entire body jolted as she suddenly felt a rush of pure power shoot through her like electricity!

Her mana surged back to life and she felt an indescribable amount of strength in her body! She immediately called on all that strength and she recalled the technique that her father taught her for opening a dimensional tear! She sent mana out of her body in a blast radius and the space in front of her rippled as she saw the space opening!

The girl stood up slowly on the back of her wyvern and the dragon riders behind her felt their eyes widen when they saw that she was trying to get away! The man riding on the smaller dragon immediately shouted!

"Shoot! Shoot! Now!"

The two dragons opened their maws at the same time and shot fire towards the girl at the same time that she jumped off the back of the wyvern and towards the large dimensional tear in front of her!

Behind her, the wyvern turned around and spread its wings out wide as it sacrificed its own body to act as a shield! It then drew in a lungful of air as a massive wave of mana gathered in its chest! The wave of mana grew hot and fiery as it was amplified by the wyvern’s own magic and the wyvern unleashed a massive blast of pure blue flames toward the men at the same time that the blast of fire from the dragons slammed into the wyvern’s body and two massive explosions echoed through the sky!!

KA-BOOMM!!

——

[With Jason]

"Resurrect."

Doon!

Jason’s mana surged across the mass of ant carcasses that had been gathered by his Legion and Jason felt his mana reserves dip significantly as close to two hundred ants dragged themselves out from their dead bodies and into the world once more!

SCREEECHH!

Loud screeches echoed across the cavern and Jason could feel the ground under his feet shaking from the intensity! He felt a grin spread on his lips and he just watched his Legion slowly getting themselves in order while throwing a large Magical Crystal into his mouth and chewing calmly! After eating about ten of the Magical Crystals, Jason had slowly gotten used to the taste, and now it was almost like he wasn’t even tasting it anymore.

’That’s freaking awesome!’

Jason exclaimed internally when he saw the changes that the new subordinates gave his system. Jason already knew that there would be a large boost to his stats and mana when he summoned all of them, but he didn’t think it would be to this extent! His mana had gone all the way up from around six thousand to nearly fourteen thousand! His stats had also gone up a lot, and even though Jason was a little disappointed that he didn’t break into S Rank, at the rate he was going, he was sure that he would be able to break into S rank before long.

The only thing that slowed him down from breaking into S rank easily was the fact that the stones boosted his agility and durability more than his strength and stamina. Since all the subordinates were from Adamantine Ants, which were more durable and agile, Jason couldn’t focus his growth on the stats that he wanted.

At least Jason now knew that you couldn’t just use any Magical Crystal for anything. You have to know what Magical Crystal will give you which boost before you use it.

Jason was a little irritated that he didn’t have any other creatures here to consume their Magical Crystals, but he didn’t let it bother him. He was already gaining a lot from this one gate and he was sure he would get a lot more when he dives into another gate in the future.

Now that he was done with the resurrections, Jason decided that it was time for him to think about getting back. Jason reached into his pocket and drew out his phone to check the time and he was surprised to see that only six hours had passed since he went into the Gate. His phone had no new messages or calls because there was no signal inside the Gate, and Jason was sure that once he got out he would have at least one message from Gina.

’I’ll have to tell her where I was or she’ll get angry.’

Jason didn’t want to tell Gina that he was going into a Gate earlier because he knew that she would try to come with him to protect him or watch his back. Jason didn’t mind her doing that, but he felt like this was something he had to handle alone. Gina had never gone into an Orange Gate before, and this was the first time Jason would be going into an Orange Gate as well, so he had no idea what he would find in here.

But now that Jason was sure that he could handle the monsters in an Orange Gate, and he also had the Heart of the Ant Queen that would help Gina boost her attack power, Jason didn’t have to worry about her safety as much as before. The next time Jason would be going into a Gate, he would bring her along so that she could grow stronger too.

Jason finally finished up his resurrection and he turned to look at the bodies of the ants that were left behind. If not for the fact that the system already told him that they would become useless, Jason would have thought about taking some of them back so he could sell them. But it was just going to be a waste of time. Besides, Jason already had more than three hundred magical crystals with him. If he sold those, then he would make a couple million dollars at least.

Jason chuckled slightly once the thought passed through his head. He was still in shock at the fact that he was even talking about making a couple million so easily.

But all of a sudden, Jason frowned as another thought passed through his head. Did Jason want the government to know that he had gone into an Orange Gate? Jason was still new to the world of superhumans, and even though everyone hailed him as the strongest awakener in the world, no one in the government expected him to grow quickly since they thought that he only had an ocular ability.

How would Jason justify getting so many Magic Crystals when he was only an A Rank?
