Supernatural Insight Eyes-Chapter 125 - 0123 I’ve got my eyes on you!
Chapter 125: 0123 I’ve got my eyes on you!
Zhongshan City, within a high-end sanatorium, Shen Tianlong listened to the housekeeper Liu’s report and felt extremely happy about his daughter Shen Mengchen’s growth.
Shen Mengchen indeed inherited Shen Tianlong’s talent and was extremely business savvy.
"Mengchen wants to break into markets outside our region. It’s a big challenge for her at present!" evaluated Shen Tianlong.
"Chairman, the young miss likes to take risks. She’s quite like you in that regard, but I’m worried that the local powers in Xiangjiang City will strongly resist Longjia Group’s entry into the market," Housekeeper Liu said.
"Well, since I have handed over the company to this girl, let her do it. As for the resistance from Xiangjiang’s local businesses, consider it a test for Mengchen." Shen Tianlong closed the fan in his hand and then asked, "What has Wang Jianguo been up to recently?"
"Wang Jianguo has gone out infrequently, but from the few occasions he has, according to what I’ve learned, he has conversed with a businessman from Japan."
"A Japanese?" muttered Shen Tianlong.
"Japan is like a wolfish nation, always coveting our Huaxia. Wang Jianguo’s connection with the Japanese is not a good thing for Longjia Group. Housekeeper Liu, find out about this Japanese immediately and clarify his identity," Shen Tianlong instructed. "I don’t want the business empire I created with my own hands to be destroyed by the Japanese."
"Understood," Housekeeper Liu memorized in his heart.
"Chairman, the young miss also asked about you. Aren’t you going to tell her now?" Housekeeper Liu walked to the door, suddenly turned around, and said.
"Not a word about my illness to her. I don’t want her to be affected by my sickness; otherwise, Longjia Group will face even greater danger. Remember, my illness must not be revealed to anyone aside from you and me," Shen Tianlong said earnestly.
Housekeeper Liu left, and the room was left with only Shen Tianlong. Bathed in warm light, Shen Tianlong looked into the distance, "I don’t have much time left; I hope I can see the day you take full control of Longjia."
...
After a big shopping spree at the supermarket with Niu Yinyin, Ye Qiu finally managed to shut the girl up.
Ye Qiu also changed into a new set of clothes; otherwise, he would definitely be recognized if he continued to flaunt himself in public.
Ye Qiu searched around and found Ye Zi practicing martial arts in the garden.
"Ye Qiu, how about we spar a bit?" Dressed in simple white attire, Ye Zi stopped her movements and walked over to Ye Qiu when she saw him appear.
"Sure." Ye Qiu wanted to see what Ye Zi’s strength was like and didn’t refuse. They soon started exchanging blows.
Niu Yinyin also gave up watching TV programs, her attention fully captured by the sparring; she found it far more exciting than anything she’d seen on television.
Ye Qiu and Ye Zi’s sparring in the garden was quite lively, and Shangguan Hong, who was reading a book on the second floor, found herself unable to concentrate with the disturbance, her beautiful eyes falling on Ye Qiu.
"Brother, you weren’t using just this much strength when you fought with the God of Assassins." Ye Zi was unsatisfied that Ye Qiu wasn’t exerting his full effort.
Ye Qiu naturally couldn’t go all out; he could unleash deadly techniques against enemies, but sparring with Ye Zi was different. After all, his killing techniques were made for assassination, and though Ye Zi was also proficient at taking lives, she wouldn’t be a match for him.
"I want to become as strong as you, so the next time we encounter high-level assassins like the God of Assassins, I won’t be helpless, and you won’t have to storm the dragon’s den alone again," Ye Zi continued, clearly dissatisfied.
Ye Qiu looked into Ye Zi’s eyes, saw her sincere attitude, and sighed helplessly, "Alright, go all out against me, and I’ll match your strength bit by bit."
Shangguan Hong watched Ye Qiu and Ye Zi having a blast in the garden from upstairs and couldn’t help feeling a bit of envy. How could she have such an exchange with Ye Qiu?
While Shangguan Hong was lost in her thoughts, at the Zhongshan City police station, Lin Qiao’er was looking at an image on the screen.
Lin Qiao’er had been deeply troubled by the plane hijacking case in recent days. Although the hijackers were brought to justice, the mysterious hero had yet to be found.
She had looked at that side-profile photo countless times, feeling it familiar yet unable to recall who the person in the photo was.
But when Lin Qiao’er saw another photo, she suddenly remembered the hero who had never shown his face.
It was a photo taken by another passenger, depicting a young girl with a clear and delicate appearance and eyes full of spirit, carrying a few traces of coldness.
Lin Qiao’er was sure she had seen this girl before. Where had she met her? Lin Qiao’er paced back and forth, trying to recall.
Suddenly, her body stopped; she finally remembered someone.
It was her!
Lin Qiao’er remembered this girl. She had once pointed a gun at this person, only to be knocked out by her the next second—she was Ye Zi!
In an instant, Lin Qiao’er thought of many things. If Ye Zi was on the plane, then the mysterious man in the photo had to be... Ye Qiu!
Lin Qiao’er finally understood why she had felt a sense of familiarity when she first saw the side profile photo; it was entirely because it was Ye Qiu, that guy who always gave her a hard time.
"It’s you again!" Lin Qiao’er gritted her teeth, aggravated over the fact that the cases she handled always seemed to be connected to this guy—she was both angry and resentful.
"Ge Yusheng’s death, and I haven’t caught the real killer yet. Now, I’d like to see how you’re going to protect her!"
"Suspect detected, all units prepare!" Lin Qiao’er ordered a few of her subordinates.
"Boss, which suspect?" a police officer nicknamed "Pot" inquired.
"Hmph, cut the crap. I told you to come with me to catch a suspect, so hurry up and follow me," Lin Qiao’er snapped, too impatient to explain, and she glared fiercely at this subordinate who always joked around.
The other police officers laughed and said, "Pot, the boss’s relative has arrived; didn’t you know? You dared to touch the old boss’s bad luck."
Lin Qiao’er abruptly stopped in her tracks and glared fiercely at all of her subordinates. No one dared to utter another word as they all ran to the police cars in unison.
Before long, Lin Qiao’er, along with her group, drove into the Goddess Villa.
"Seal off the entire villa. You two, watch the gate. No one is allowed to enter or leave. Anyone who disobeys, bring them back to the police station," Lin Qiao’er commanded with the authority of a police officer and then headed towards the Goddess Villa.
It wasn’t the first time that Lin Qiao’er had come knocking on Ye Qiu’s door, but it had been many days since their last encounter. Yet here she was again, making quite an entrance.
"Officer, what’s this commotion about?" Ye Qiu asked, as the sparring session between him and Ye Zi came to a halt.
"Ye Qiu, this time, I’m not here for you; I’m here for her!" Lin Qiao’er said, her gaze turning towards Ye Zi.
Ye Zi’s expression shifted. Ye Qiu quickly stopped Ye Zi’s motion to strike and chuckled, "Officer Lin, may I ask why you want to arrest her?"
"Arrests should be made based on evidence. If you don’t even have evidence and you arrest someone recklessly, I will think you are abusing your authority."
"Hmph, I believe she is related to Ge Yusheng’s death, so I need to take her back to the station. Ye Qiu, if you continue to delay me, I’ll consider it as you harboring a criminal," Lin Qiao’er stated calmly.
"Officer Lin, you can’t just recklessly put such a big accusation on me. Since you believe Ye Zi is related to Ge Yusheng’s death, please show the arrest warrant first. Without any procedure, I’ll take it as you, Officer Lin, intentionally troubling me," Ye Qiu said.
An arrest warrant?
Lin Qiao’er subconsciously reached into her pocket. Ye Qiu noticed her action and couldn’t help but want to laugh. Officer Lin was still as impulsive as ever, coming to make an arrest without proper procedures.
"Boss, show him the arrest warrant. This kid is too arrogant," Pot whispered as he moved closer to Lin Qiao’er.
Lin Qiao’er indeed wanted to produce it, but she really couldn’t. However, she couldn’t admit she didn’t have it in front of her—arresting someone without an arrest warrant would make her a laughingstock, especially in front of that grinning guy.
Lin Qiao’er certainly didn’t want Ye Qiu to see her embarrassment.
"Boss, please show it quickly," Pot irritatingly muttered in her ear.
"Shut your mouth," Lin Qiao’er said angrily before coughing, "Hmph, you all keep an eye on her, I need to make a trip back to the station."
Her words made it clear to her subordinates that their boss indeed didn’t have the arrest warrant with her.
"Hey, Officer Lin couldn’t have forgotten the arrest warrant, could you?" Ye Qiu called out with a laugh.
Lin Qiao’er glared fiercely at Ye Qiu without saying anything but thought to herself, "Ye Qiu, I’ve got my eye on you. Once I’ve dealt with her, we’ll settle the score between us!"
