Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!-Chapter 235: By the river (part 2)
While Idan was trying to figure out what kind of "leech" was sticking to their champion, Arabel finally regained her strength and decided to confess.
"Dan, I'm sorry," she said softly.
These words immediately caught Idan's attention. He couldn't understand why Arabel was apologizing. His mind began to feverishly go over the events of recent times, trying to find out what Arabel had done that she was sorry for.
Idan was aware that all of her recent actions were caused by a side effect of the madness energy, so he had no reason to be angry or accuse her of anything untoward. On the contrary, he understood her and wanted to help her get rid of this terrible disease as soon as possible.
"I lied about the index "Affection," Arabel said, looking at the water surface and gently hugging Coco.
Coco, in turn, alternated between looking at Idan and looking up at her Mistress again.
"Huh? Oh..." — It took Idan a moment to realize what Arabel had apologized for. It wasn't until he heard the whole sentence that he realized what was being said.
"Then what's your index?" Idan was immediately intrigued, trying to guess what Arabel's indicator was.
Arabel was surprised by Idan's reaction. Instead of telling him directly, she decided to show him her status. Since they both had the same System, but out of respect for each other's personal space, the System did not show each other's status without the consent of both parties.
Idan was excited, and after Arabel's agreement, her status appeared before his eyes.
Arabel's status was not much different from his own.
The first thing that caught his attention was her age, 18.
"Ah, she's younger than me..." thought Idan, making notes in his head. Unfortunately, he didn't know the exact date of her birthday, but it didn't matter.
Soon, Idan finally saw what he wanted, and what appeared before his eyes made him freeze in amazement.
"What the hell?" he said aloud, looking at the mistake in Arabel's "Affection." Idan expected to see a variety of options, from extremely low to high scores, but he was not prepared for this.
"I was shocked when I first saw it, too," Arabel said, watching Idan's amazement. After making sure that he was looking exactly where she wanted, Arabel decided to share her thoughts.
"When you asked me what my index was, I was a little scared and decided to tell you an approximate figure, but lower than yours," Arabel admitted, what exactly she had done and for which she apologized.
"Have you found out the reason for this mistake?" asked Idan, without taking his eyes off the problem in Arabel's status.
"Yes, after you left, I contacted the system. System explained that this was due to a side effect. Because of him, my true feelings and intentions are in chaos, and it is difficult for System to determine the exact data," Arabel shared what System told her.
"That's how it is. If you look at it that way, I'm not surprised," Idan said, trusting the System's analysis.
Taking advantage of the moment, he quickly ran through the rest of Arabel's status data. However, apart from the differences in the parameters of characteristics and bloodline, he did not notice anything remarkable.
After examining Arabel's Status, Idan waved his hand and the window disappeared.
"Do you want to see mine?" he asked Arabel. After a short pause, she nodded, and Idan asked System to show her his Status. A screen with information about him appeared in front of Arabel.
Like Idan, she didn't notice any significant differences between her Status and Idan's.
Now, after looking at each other's statuses, they both had some additional information about each other. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"Aren't you angry?" asked Arabel.
"Because you lied?" he asked, and she nodded.
"No, of course not. It was just an index. Although I was a little upset when I saw that your level was lower than mine. I was hoping that your index would be higher," Idan replied, looking at her.
"I trust you, Arabel. And I hope that you won't betray my trust and take advantage of it," Idan said, looking straight into Arabel's eyes.
Arabel, in turn, looked into Idan's eyes and was silent for a while. Then she said firmly:
"Those should be my words!"
They continued to sit, just looking at each other.
"Okay, it's time for us to pack up and move on," Idan said first, averting his gaze and starting to get up.
"Wait, Dan. Summon Ned," Arabel said.
Idan immediately shifted his gaze to her. Then he summoned Ned, and Ned appeared next to him in the form of a dark fox. Looking around and seeing his Master's partner in front of him, he immediately bristled and his fur stood on end. Ned quickly hid behind the Master.
The last time, the Master's partner scared him so much that even in a half-asleep state inside the Master's Star, he dreamed of Arabel's anger.
"Ha ha ha," Idan couldn't help but laugh.
Arabel, on the other hand, felt awkward when she saw Ned's behavior. After all, Ned was an insane "Perfect Doppelganger."
"Ned, come here," Arabel called.
Ned immediately looked at Idan, his Master, as if seeking advice from him.
"Go, — Idan said, stepping aside and opening the way for him to Arabel.
After receiving the instruction, Ned walked towards Arabel with his head down. When he reached her, he lay down in front of her, as if begging for forgiveness.
Arabel, hugging Coco, sat down next to Ned and carefully, so as not to frighten, put her hand on his head. Gently stroking, she said:
"I'm sorry, Ned. I'm very sorry for what I did.
Ned lifted his muzzle and looked at Arabel and did not see the crazy look in her eyes that he had seen before. His fear was gradually receding.
Suddenly Coco jumped off Arabel's arms and onto Ned's head. Restraining herself, she lifted her head proudly.
"Coco, get off Ned's head, he's not your subordinate, he's your senior!" Idan said, coming over and taking off the little naughty girl. He understood what she wanted to do.
"Whoo—whoo-whoo!" Coco said resentfully when Idan handed her over to Arabel. Arabel hugged her tightly to stop her from leaving.
Finally, Ned calmed down after receiving Arabel's apologies.
Shortly after collecting their belongings, the group consisting of a couple, a little fox cub, and Ned, who had turned into a Wyvern, took to the sky at a moderate speed and headed north.
The next day, the couple went out to a large city, which, compared to the capital, was much smaller.
With the awakened ones' IDs, they entered the city without any problems and, after a quick shopping trip, bought everything they needed: clothes and small things. By evening, they had already left the city.
Being in Limbo and the wildlife of the Forbidden Zone seem to have had a strong effect on the couple's mind. Neither of them was in the mood to spend the night in a city hotel. They wanted to spend the night in peace and quiet, away from strangers and the hustle and bustle of the city.
Fortunately, their level of development and experience allowed them to travel the world safely. After the disaster, the wilderness area became larger, and they enjoyed spending time together. They felt like they finally had time to relax, and the trip to the northern border seemed like just a walk, just like an ordinary date.
After settling into the tent and getting used to each other's company, they spent their nights peacefully, without feeling any embarrassment or awkwardness. Although sometimes thoughts of more slipped through their heads, both tried to keep them to themselves, preferring to wait for a more appropriate moment and take their time.
Arabel's side effect made itself felt from time to time, and Idan realized how important it was to get rid of this problem as soon as possible.
Ned, who was trying to attract attention, got under Arabel's hot hand a couple of times, but over time she learned to control her impulses a little, and Ned was able to avoid serious trouble.
On the fourth day of their journey, they noticed how the air temperature dropped significantly, and on the fifth day they had already reached the snow-covered lands. On the sixth day, they were caught in a snowstorm.
On the morning of the seventh day, when they were having breakfast by the campfire, they received an unexpected message from the System:
[Ding! The new "Father" function has been unlocked]
[Ding! Thanks to the uniqueness of this System, a new "Mother" function has been unlocked!]
[Ding! Two new functions have been combined into one — "Parents"!]
Idan and Arabel froze at the unexpected notification they received from the System.
While Idan was trying to comprehend what had just happened, he suddenly felt such a strong killing intent from Arabel, and when he turned his head, his heart almost jumped out of his mouth in fright.
